Chapter 30
the council meeting is about to begin, but with this many people might as well call it the kingdom meeting. we get into the hall and I must say that it's not big enough for the number of people present, so majority remain outside. the main speaker of the meeting, lord Isiah Ashaen Lurr of the house of Ashaen Lurr arrives, and as soon as he gets up the podium, he is booed by the crowd. it seems people are fed up with the nobles taking advantage of them. he introduces himself as a noble, and again he is booed. it's about time the citizens of this good kingdom rebel against the misuse of power by the so called nobles, he decides to begin the procession by introducing the families present. he starts by introducing the house of Ashaen Lurr, then the house of Akamaetha and the house of Agathaele. he then goes on to introduce some highly important persons in attendance of the meeting, and that is what's bothering me. amoung which he first introduces the jaded Knight himself sir Lu Quincy borrowshard, the oak killer Sir Dagon Lebaniss of the house of leban, the lady of bloodthorn Lady Jaen Anakeath of the house of Anaka, lord daenish tangrit of the house of tangrit, The red knight lord Aegeus lebaniss of the house of leban, lord Hakim musabeem of the lower house of Agathine, The black veil lady sheelah of the lower house of Ruthegrin, then there is the lord of kings, I'm certain no one expected him to be in attendance as well since him and the oak king clearly don't get along. with the number of battle fiends in attendance there is almost certainly no way that breaking cept out with all these guys around will work.
I have to be careful with the way I move around, I call luvera's attention and we split from the others. he starts talking about the plans of territorial expansions being put on hold for the betterment of the infrastructure of the kingdom, the citizens seem to like what they are hearing, it's almost seems like they are finally listening to the people. but even I know that's just something they will say before saying something messed up, and like I knew what he was about to do. as the crowd cheers for the stop to territorial expansions of the kingdom. he says that it is because of the reports they had gotten reports on some regions on the expansion front about the Wakaani. it seems that we weren't the only ones who had a run in with the Wakaani, now me and luvera can focus solely on rescuing cept. apparently there was an incident during one of the kingdoms expansion efforts that resulted in quite a number of deaths, they were so caught up in expanding the kingdoms territory that they forgot to check where they were expanding into and as a result they had stumbled into Wakaani territory while expanding the kingdoms. they say that the battle monger, Lord dagon lebaniss had made preparations to go to the site, but upon reaching had discovered that the kingdoms forces in that region had already been wiped out. then to the citizens dismay the lord and speaker Isiah says something quite shocking, he says that the monarch, the king has been experiencing some health issues over the last few months and his health only seems to be getting worse with each passing day. if that's the case and this has been a problem for a few months now, then why are we, the citizens only hearing about this now. I begin to wander what they are planning to do, just then lord Isiah says that the current Oak king, King Cynfael Oakeen III, will step down from the position of monarchy for his half brother lord Frolo Deen Negasi, to take up the responsibility of ruling the kingdom while the king recuperates away from the stress. of course this was what they were planning, they wanted to remove the king from power to fuel their own selfish ambitions. they are actively trying to tear down this monarch to install their own, they are basically looking to install a figure head. though it's Negasi we are talking about here, the tyrant half brother of king Cynfael, there is no way that all the upper houses, lower houses and even king makers will agree to this. even if no one rejects it, the queen will certainly not accept and will most likely take it as betrayal from the upper houses. but to my surprise and that of the whole kingdom, nobody opposes this decision. the citizens are in an uproar, but theirs input obviously doesn't matter, the nobles are just explaining to us what they have already decided on and done. I can't believe their best choice for a political figure head is Frolo, the same guy who is said to have mental issues, anger issues and just about any other issues that are not of the good kind. there are even rumors that he violated a woman in the mid realms a few years back, he has even been accused of fraud and stealing of the kingdoms fundings from the treasury, of course a few days later the accuser was found burnt alive in his home. there is so much trouble and hate circling that guy and if the nobles won't admit it, then this Kingdom is f@*ked, no question about it. as soon as the speaker, Isiah makes the statement the queen stands up from her seat and publicly objects, and claims that they in the main house never agreed to it, and that she would take it as a sign of betrayal and war. what did I say, she would never take this laying down. she makes her stand on the matter known and the citizens seem to support her decision, but some of the other nobles are not happy that she is speaking up, Frolo Deen especially, especially him.
