Words: Hunter
Camouflaged gear, a hat, a bolt-action rifle, and a large backpack which contained the rest of her equipment; she was ready to receive the fruit of her labor.
Brushing off the branches, she spotted an oblivious deer in an open space. Positioning herself, she prepared herself to take the shot, aiming at the vitals. She pulled the trigger and the recoil went to her shoulder, jolting from the nostalgic feeling.
The deer fell within her sights. Seeing this, she immediately went to the deer, which was a few meters too far. When she arrived, the body of the deer disappeared. The huntress scratched her head.
"I was sure to aim for the vitals," she said.
Everything went dark. It was impossible for it to be dark. The sun was up during her hunt. She looked up to the sky to see nothing but darkness. She darted around to see the same darkness. Anxious, the huntress lit her flare torch, lighting up her surroundings. There was a shadow.
Tracing the shadow, she looked up to see a beast. It was a white, four legged creature. It towered the huntress, bearing numerous long fangs. It produced a menacing growl as the huntress's legs trembled in fear.
The beast roared, charging to the direction of the huntress. The huntress dropped the flare torch and let out a war cry as she frantically fired her rifle to the beast. Each flash of her rifle lit up the area in a brief moment, revealing the gradual approach of the beast. Until the last flash revealed the beast's claws raised at the woman. As the flash disappeared, the blood of the huntress soaked the tip of the flare torch, leaving only darkness in the middle of the daylit forest.
