Words: Accident
"How could you be so heartless," I cried, "You were everything to me!"
At the center of a pedestrian bridge was a scene of shouting lovers. The two overs shout not their love for each other, but their distaste. As the pedestrian passed by, the feeling of embarrassment failed to overwhelm my ever growing hatred for the man before me.
"I swear, I never meant to hurt you. It won't happen again, I promise" the insect lied.
"You never truly loved my best friend? Disgusting."
"Y-you know that's not what I mean, I—"
I crossed my arms and interrupted, "Give me exactly the confession I want to hear."
He fell silent. The sound of vehicles zipping through the highway filled the gaps of silence. Crowds of spectators stared at us like animals trapped in a cage for their entertainment. Impatiently tapping my foot, I glared at him while tears fell from my eyes.
He opened his mouth, however, bit his lip as soon as he saw me, averting his gaze. Tightly clenching his fist, he said, "It wasn't my fault"
"Tom, stop acting like a child and admit it!" I roared.
"She was flirting with me! I was seduced by that slut!"
Upon hearing those words, the first thought that came to mind was, "This bastard needs to die."
Blinded by rage, Tom was aggressively shoved without my control. My body moved on its own. His body tilted from the force, his weight turning his body on the railing. The scene of Tom about to fall off caused my body to stiffen. But somehow, despite that, my body was able to stretch my mouth into a grin. A tear landed on the pavement.
The deafening sound of a vehicle's horn blared, crowds of spectators letting out a gasp, and I, who wore a grin like a villain as Tom fell to the busy road.
It was an accident.
