"Hey, I found it first!" shouted a gray mouse.

"I arrived here first! You will not be getting any!" said the white mouse as he crossed his arms, guarding the block of cheese.

"I have bellies to feed back home!" said the gray mouse.

"Well, I have my own belly to feed," sneered the white mouse.

The gray mouse was furious. How could a fellow mouse not care for his kin. He cannot comprehend such behavior. As the gray mouse contemplated. The white mouse walked closer to the block of cheese.

"Wait!" shouted the gray mouse, interrupting the white mouse. "How about we split the cheese?" he offered.

"What is it for me?" asked the white mouse, glaring at the gray mouse for interrupting him.

"I will let you meet my daughter"

"Really now," the white mouse was disappointed. "Is she beautiful?"

"Yes! She is the most beautiful mouse in this area! Everyone praises her dancing! I definitely assure you cannot regret taking such an offer!"

The white mouse hovers near the wooden contraption, thinking about his offer. With a stomp, he stopped his movement and looked at the cheese.

"You got yourself a deal," the white mouse said. "But only if I take the cheese before you do. I cannot trust you in cutting the cheese, you see. You might take more than you need to.

"Of course!" the gray mouse grinned. "I will happily let you take cheese first.

"Good," the white mouse grinned.

The white mouse approached the contraption. He caressed the cheese before pulling out a piece. To his surprise, a bar of metal crushed his body, dropping the cheese he held in his hand. The gray mouse chuckled.

"You youngsters have not roamed the ruins, no wonder you have no idea what this was," the gray mouse grinned, staring into the agony of the white mouse's eyes. "This is what we ruin folk call,a sacrificial guillotine. We send two mice to decide who becomes the sacrifice and the deliverer"

"You just became our sacrifice. We are thankful for your services, beloved mouse of the owner of the ruins"
