Chapter 1 - New Life, New Risks

"What the.."

As Cyrus looked around, all he saw was white, it's as if he was in an empty void, but before he could take the time to process all of this, a man suddenly talked.

"Well what do we have here, a young one, you died a bit too early don't you think?" The old man with a white cloak, sitting down on the ground while drinking his tea before looking up at Cyrus.

"Who are you? What am I doing here? I thought I died already.." Cyrus exclaimed as he sighed, knowing what had happened yet accepting it.

"Unfortunately so. But your good deeds let a life continue, so you may not be that bad as you may think." The old man nodded.

Cyrus scratched his head before feeling no hostility against the old man in front of him, as he sits down in front of him. "You are right.. But can't I ask who you are first? You're leaving me hanging y'know."

The old man laughed as he nodded. "Ah my bad. My name's Arc. One of the gods in your realm. Well you have yours but he's a relative of mine." Arc said while taking a sip of his tea, meanwhile Cyrus was kinda confused.

"That's uh, didn't expect I'd talk to a god right now.. Though what do you mean by 'One of the Gods'?" Cyrus said being curious.

"Oh my dear boy. There's separate and many worlds out there to explore and to wander. There's not only Earth in your world but many more. Us Gods are the guardians of the worlds you all live, to make sure that balance is between it. That is all you may know." As Arc said, he'd take a sip from the cup of tea, before sighing in relief from how delicious it was.

"So does that mean.. You're my god?" Cyrus tilts his head while raising an eyebrow.

"Oh no young one. I am a god of another world, where technology and such don't exist yet. Your god is currently at a meeting with the other gods due to.. well, how humanity is becoming." Arc nodded looking a bit worried at his tea. Yet Cyrus understood. Humanity in his world is getting worse, the people make themselves worse rather than better.

"I can tell from what I've experienced.. It doesn't feel like living at all." Cyrus sighed.

Arc chuckled before putting his hand on Cyrus's shoulder while gently smiling. "Oh but you lived to your fullest didn't you? Playing those games, taking risks, enjoying how exciting it was. That is how life works my boy!" He exclaimed as he raised his arms sideways to express his enjoyment to how he was happy to see Cyrus enjoy his life.

"I see everything as a game after all so.. Gotta blame my mindset." Cyrus said jokingly as he laughed, with Arc laughing with him before he nods.

"Tell you what dear boy. How about you experience a new life or as some say. A new save file in my earth?" Arc raises his eyebrow, hoping that Cyrus would accept.

"Your earth? But what's it like? You did say it doesn't have technology.." He said feeling a bit down and disappointed.

Arc nodded. "Oh that's just it. It may not have technology. But it does have what your world does not. Magic!" He said with a little bit of dazzle as if to impress Cyrus.

"M.. Magic? Like Abra Kadabra Magic or.. Magic Magic?" Cyrus said while raising an eyebrow, confused about what kind of magic he's talking about.

"Just magic, dear boy. Although it's best for you to see it yourself if you accept my offer for living in a new world."

Cyrus thought about it for a bit, he had no choice but to accept it of course. As he looks at Arc eye to eye before nodding. "I'll accept it, I can't wait to see whatever's there!"

Arc felt glad to see him have a new life, nodding in the process. "I'm sure you'd love it. Although how about I give you a bonus?"

"A bonus? Like what?" Cyrus asked but Arc suddenly snapped his fingers, making Cyrus slowly fade away, before he can get the chance to ask what it was. Arc only muttered the words.

"Don't worry. It's a risk you like to take." When those words were heard by Cyrus, he knew what it immediately was, smiling in the process as he nods.

Now as he gets transported into another world, he founds himself in a forest, with a cloak as an extra, and new clothes that looked very medieval-like yet he didn't mind, he thought it suits him. "So this is the new world.." As Cyrus began walking ahead, getting out of the forest to see a bright sky, a river, and a nearby town. He was excited, but first he had to figure out what that bonus was.

"I wonder what that bonus Arc was talking about.." Once he said the word, a screen popped up, causing him to suddenly fall. Yet once he took a good look at it, he saw that it was from Arc, saying:

"Hello young one. I expect you might have said the word by now. So here's a little bonus for you. You may see it in your Reputation. Now have fun!" by Arc.

"Jeez.. He could've given me a warning, but alright then.. Reputation." Once Cyrus said the word, a new screen popped up showing his current potential or abilities.

Name: Cyrus | Species: Human |

Rank: Beginner | Level: 1 | Occupation: None.

Skills: None

Passive: Luck's Gambit! ( This passive makes you have the ability to gain every category of elements. Being Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, Enhance, Summoning, Healing, Light, Dark, and Spirit. )

Chances: Fire 15% | Wind 15% | Earth 15% Water 15% | Enhance 10% | Summoning 10% | Healing 10% | Light 4% | Dark 4% | Spirit 2%

You may keep what element you get from the passive. But be warned, not all elements are useful for everything.

As Cyrus looked at the screen, he was so excited and thrilled after he finishes reading the screen in front of him. "Hell yeah! Thanks Arc! This is exactly what I wanted! A risk! A thrill! Excitement! Man my life wouldn't be what it'll be if I don't have something like this.. Well, that settles it. But how does it work? Do I just say, Luck's Gambit?"

Once he said the words, a glowing slot machine appeared it front of him suddenly. And without a single thought, he immediately pulls the lever, as he saw it spinning, he hoped that he would get something useful. "Please be Dark.. Or Fire at least, those chances look good!" His addiction was showing.

Then when the slot machine stops rolling, it landed on.. "Healing.. You gotta be kidding me." The slot machine disappeared as he sat on the ground feeling a bit bummed that he got an element that wasn't for fighting. Until he saw another screen pop up.

You may use Luck's Gambit for another 777 minutes. Thank you for using it!

Cyrus looked at the screen with his eye twitching, his anger slightly rising yet, his smile still stayed, this is what he wanted after all, and he got what he deserved. "Well I'll make the best of it." He nods as he stood back up, the screens disappearing before he looks at the town up ahead.

"Guess I'll have to get used to this. Moving forwa-" Before he could finish his sentence, he heard a scream. "What the hell?" Of course a sane person would obviously avoid it, but his instincts felt like he needed to go there, so without a thought. He rushed to where the scream was headed to.

Once he arrived, he saw a woman bruised up and hurt, but rather than helping her first. He was hesitant for a second, not knowing if she could be trusted or to be helped by him. So he waited. Until a massive ant that was white with blood red eyes jumped, about to attack the girl. As he suddenly jumps out of hiding to protect the girl. That time he was hiding, he saw a certain skill he could use in his current rank to be of use. "Priest's Shield!"

Yelling that out, a sphere like barrier would cover him and the injured girl. Protecting them both from the attack the giant ant almost had done, yet it kept attacking the barrier he had done nonstop, seemingly desperate. "What's wrong with that bug? Gotta learn some attitude at least." He said before looking over to the wounded girl, her clothes a bit.. rich looking and fancy for his eyes. She wore a yellow dress after all, and to top it all of, her hair was pink. So he made sure to not be hostile in front of her, as he slowly approaches her. "Hey.. You good? You seem a bit.. troubled."

Cyrus tried to make up a joke but ended up terrible, as the girl just shook her head. "No.. Not really.." He took the initiative of getting close to her as he smiled gently. "Don't worry, I'll help. Fog of Abundance." A fog would cover the girl from the ground then slowly going up as it disappears. Just like her injuries and her wounds, now being healed as she got close to him and held both his hands while smiling in relief. "Thank you! Oh thank you so much! Oh where are my manners. My name's Holly. What's yours?"

Cyrus nodded and smiled, responding back. "Cyrus, pleasure to meet you Holly. And I was only glad I could be of help."

As Holly lets go of his hands, she regained her composure as she leans back to give both of them some distance. "If needed I can repay you for healing me. Once we get back to town of course.."

Cyrus laughed as he understood what she meant, before standing up to see if the giant ant was there. It was long gone already. "Well we have the chance, wanna go?" As he gives out a hand to her. While she gladly accepts his hand, slowly standing up while holding the bottom part of her dress. "You're too kind sir Cyrus."

"Aha.. Please I'm only 21 years old don't call me sir.." He said jokingly while scratching his head then letting go of her hand, as he felt a bit tired, his head suddenly feeling dizzy.

"Cyrus! Are you alright?" Holly asked worried. While he kept his feet on the ground, it was a bit unbalanced but he stood back up steady. "Yeah sorry.. I feel a bit tired.." He said while shaking his head.

"It might be because of your use of magic.. you might stop using this barrier of yours." She said, looking a bit concerned for him now. Yet he kept his smile even though he was a bit tired. "Don't worry.. I think I can handle this.." Cyrus said hoping they don't worry anymore, as he minimizes the area of the barrier he has to only around the two of them so that it's not that big. Sighing in the process as he felt himself lighter. While Holly felt relieved.

"That's better! Though, shall we go?" He asked while looking at her, as she nods in response.

The two beginning to walk and share some chit chats as they made their way through the forest, thankfully no monsters or bugs attacked them in their journey on the way. Until they have reached the gates of the town, he makes the barrier disappear so that he doesn't waste too much energy. Then seeing a group of guards approaching the both of them.

"Oh Lady Holly! We're so sorry for losing you there in the forest. If only someone had not distracted us.." The guards look over to a certain guard that may have been the one who's at fault. As Holly just chuckled with a gentle smile. "Do not fret, this young man saved me. I was thankful he was there in my time of need." She said being.. graceful, which he found understandable, a rich or noble lady must have their right attitude to their people. The guards began eyeing at Cyrus before bowing to him. Then escorting Holly back to her home as she waves goodbye to him.

Whilst he successfully brought her back. He also succeeded getting to town safely. It was a success, he didn't regret seeing and meeting Holly. "New town, new things! Now what should I do..."

To be continued.
