"The Blue Goblin was one of the three B-ranked mercenary groups in the city of Juarez, with more than a hundred elite mercenaries in the group.
The mercenary headquarters occupied a huge courtyard in a corner of the south of the city, a three-entry courtyard with nearly a hundred houses.
The large, one-armed man took a few steps forward and hugged Cairns, "Welcome back alive!"
In one swift motion Cairns pushed the man away and gave him a punch in the chest, "Randall, it's you guys who won't die until I do! Let's see how we did with the extras on this trip." Cairns pointed smugly at the small orc behind him.
"Is this little guy an extra for you guys too?" Randall, however, was the first to notice Arthur at the front of the line of orcs.
Cairns beckoned Arthur to come forward, "Arthur is just a slave we rescued in passing, he had nowhere else to go so he followed us all the way. The boy is very resourceful, I thought he might be able to give you a hand."
Randall's face sank for a second, "I'm missing an arm but I'm not yet a loser who needs someone else to take care of me, I don't need you to find someone to take care of me!"
Cairns gave a somewhat awkward smile, "Brother, you've got it wrong, I didn't take him in to find someone to take care of you exclusively, but rather, I saw that you were working too hard and asked him to run errands for you."
"What's hard work for me to manage logistics and finances at home compared to you guys scrambling around out there? And we don't have the spare cash to hire a kid who's not much use."
"Uncle Randall, let me stay, I'll do a lot of things, and I don't need money, just food." Arthur looked at Randall expectantly.
The world of mercenaries filled young Arthur with curiosity, and in just a few days he had come to love the group.
Besides Arthur many of the mercenaries looked at Randall, all the way from the Orlando Mountains to the city of Juarez everyone except Tony had fallen in love with the Arthur boy. He always had a smile on his face and was very courteous to everyone, and always jumped in to do everything.
Randall deliberately composed himself, "Since you really have nowhere else to go, the mercenary group will keep you as a good deed. Although you don't want any money, as mercenaries we believe that if you pay, you must have an equivalent report, so your monthly payment is one silver coin."
"Cut!" Many of the mercenaries booed disdainfully at Randall.
In the human kingdom, copper coins and silver coins were the currencies that ordinary people used on a daily basis, and then above that there were gold coins and crystal coins that were of higher value, but the vast majority of the people had probably never seen the appearance of crystal coins in their entire lives. The exchange ratio between them was all one to one hundred, and the price of a pound of rice was usually around twenty copper coins.
The reason why the mercenaries booed was because Randall was too stingy, the cheapest hired laborer in Isaac Kingdom would not be paid less than ten silver coins a month. The Blue Leprechaun mercenaries were even paid up to 50 silver coins a month, and this was only a small portion of their income, the main source of income for the mercenaries was the commissions from the missions. Randall hired a laborer for only one-fiftieth of the price.
"Thank you Uncle Randall, you're a good man!" Arthur, on the other hand, was all excited, he had no concept of money at all now, and had never even had any before this.
Arthur's sincere thanks elicited another round of laughter from the mercenaries.
Randall's fat face was also slightly red, but he yelled loudly, "You assholes, what are you still standing here for? Hurry up and move everything in, be careful I'll dock your paychecks for this month!"
"Come on, leave the boys alone, let's talk about what to do with these little orcs." Cairns pulled Randall to take the lead towards the courtyard.
No matter what time of day it was, going home was a happy and exciting event, and the mercenaries dispersed as soon as they walked into the courtyard. Only Arthur was left standing alone.
"Come with me, I'll arrange a place for you to stay, wash up properly, and then take you to buy clothes and shoes." Adeline's pleasant voice rang out in time.
Arthur was still dressed as he had been at the orc camp, wearing a pair of well-worn animal skin pants over a collapsed soft leather armor, disheveled hair, and bare feet. Arthur's face flushed as he realized that his image was out of place in his current surroundings.
"And sorry, come with me, you're going to blow them away!" Adeline giggled. She seemed to be in a very good mood the whole way since meeting the boy.
...
The Nightingale Bar, one of the favorite places for mercenaries in the city of Juarez.
The owner, Nightingale, used to be a mercenary as well, and was a rather famous battle school level two-handed swordsman who attracted countless suitors when she was young. After marrying, she opened this bar, only that the flavorful female swordsman had now turned into an obese middle-aged woman, and the man she had picked out of the many suitors back then had later died in that woman's bed. There are also rumors that Nightingale personally killed her own man and the woman who cheated with him.
Even though the youthful looks were long gone, the suitors from back then still liked to come here for a drink every time they came back from a mission, and gradually brought the young mercenaries to like to run to this place as well.
Because knowing mercenaries, the strongest gin, the best barbecue, the most flirtatious women, the Nightingale Bar has everything a mercenary would love.
In one corner of the bar, Tony, Angus, and four Blue Goblin mercenaries were having a good time around a large square oak table filled with roasts and mugs of ale.
Tony had obviously had too much to drink, his face was red and his tongue was a little tongue-tied, "I'm telling you guys, you're the ones who haven't banged the Beast's women, and that's just enough!"
"Brother Tony, so you must have been on it, quickly tell us the details." A young mercenary with a freckled face eagerly urged.
The other three mercenaries were also full of anticipation, waiting to hear what Tony had to say.
Tony started with a piece of meat and a large gulp of wine, slowly and deliberately whetting the appetites of several young mercenaries.
"Tony was on a reconnaissance mission once and was accidentally caught by a bear woman ..." Angus suddenly took over Tony's words and continued.
Tony stood up with a start, the wine he hadn't swallowed spewing out in one gulp, spraying Angus square in the face, "Don't you guys listen to him!"
"Yo, if it isn't Little Tony from Blue Leprechauns. Even thieves have money to drink?"
As a conspiratorial voice suddenly rang out, a tall, thin, feminine-looking man pushed the door open and walked in.
The man was similarly dressed as a mercenary, with a long sword hanging from his waist, a large red jewel on the hilt was particularly eye-catching, and seven or eight other mercenaries followed behind him.
As these people walked in, the lively atmosphere in the bar instantly dropped to freezing point.
Tony turned around with a smirk, "So it's Deputy Head Tracy of 'Stabbing Blood', our Blue Demoness has just made a hard profit, just in time to buy Deputy Head Tracy a drink."
Tony's comment immediately caused the bar to erupt in laughter.
The deputy leader of the Stinging Blood Mercenary Corps, one of the three B-class mercenary corps in the city of Juarez, Tristie, was deliberately called the feminine "Trixie" by Tony, which was full of mockery.
Tristie's feminine face turned paler and her voice was icy, "Perhaps you've forgotten how your ribs were broken last time?"
"So I almost forgot, I wonder if the wound on Chief Tracy's butt is healed yet? Why don't you take off your pants and show everyone!" Angus said slyly from the sidelines.
"You seek death!" A strong fighting aura violently erupted from Tristie's body.
Angus, Tony and others also all stood up, the conflict between the two B-class mercenary groups was imminent ...
