Chapter 9 - Villain

Seyan smoothly took her stuff to her assigned room. Her father being considerate, got her a room of her own. Seyan decided to skip the current lessons as she knew that she would be able to catch up. Besides that, in her previous life, she had reached a higher grade enough to send her to college.

She settled into the double bedroom and made herself cosy with her little sister, Reyo. In Legalese, it was common for wealthy kids to go with their assistants to school. So her father catered to everything to make her comfortable. Reyo looked tired as she had already drifted into sleep after the tiresome journey to the academy.

Though to Seyan it was nothing, however, Reyo seemed to have quite a delicate body. Perhaps it was due to malnutrition, thought Seyan, gazing at the Reyo's dainty cute face. Her long hair partially covered her face making her look more angelic and innocent.

Her mere appearance created an urge to protect her from harm. She quickly dropped a kiss on her forehead like how a mother would kiss goodnight to her baby. With that Seyan retrieved her brand-new tablet from her backpack and perused the net.

She checked her account balance and noticed her upkeep amount was quite reasonable. She had to thank her father for this however, it was time to make some changes. She glanced at nothingness with an unfathomable glint in her eyes. Casting one last glance at the sleeping Reyo, she left the room.

By the time Seyan headed to the main building, the clock had already stroke noon. The sun was quite scorching as she felt her skin turn red, adding colour to her pale almost incandescent skin. Her jet-black hair shimmered under the sun. Though Seyan didn't seem to be bothered about it.

Being a half-vampire, she was quite sensitive though not much compared to the rest of the pure-blooded vampires who seemed to be hiding under the shade. While some of them had already tanned and looked pale. She was busily gazing at her tablet when she suddenly bumped into a hard trunk.

Feeling the pain on her forehead and the nose bridge, she denoted it was a guy. Raising her head, she came face to face with a pair of cold silver-grey eyes. For a moment she felt lost just by looking at them. They were beautiful yet hid the danger behind them.

A brief silence crossed between the two before Seyan shook her head and apologised, "Sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you. Now if you'll excuse me I've got something to do."

With that Seyan didn't wait for his reply and turned to leave. Barely had Seyan left, the man caught her arm by the wrist. Seyan turned to face him and raised her brow questioningly. The guy was quite stunned for a bit, realising that she resisted him.

Seyan looked at the guy's arm on top of hers and frowned a bit. She had grown hostile to people whom she didn't know and that was her nature. She freed her arm from the guy's grip which caught him off guard. Countless girls at Arcando's Light were all obsessed with him but here he was standing with a girl who regarded him as a nemesis.

"Interesting," he murmured.

He had his intense gaze on her, however, Seyan didn't seem to shrink back as she maintained a look which he noticed as the ' Wanna compete with me' look.

Having had enough of the staring, Seyan broke the silence, "Hey, bro! I think this staring contest should come to an end."

She glanced at her empty wrist, a habit she had inherited in her previous life and coolly said, "Rain check, my time is up. Bye."

With that, she ran away from him. Unknown to her, the reactions she did, earned her a light chuckle when he murmured, "I guess for the first time, the wandering hero meets the first villain."

He glanced at the sky only to be blessed by the scorching sun's rays. However, he didn't seem to be affected by it. His skin remained smooth and glossy and enviously delicate yet firm. Just then a boy came from behind him and placed his arm on his left shoulder.

He had this blue shaggy hair neatly spread on his head and it looked quite fluffy and beautiful. The two looked quite close despite their opposite personalities. The blue-haired boy then c

cajoled, "Hey, Nik, who's that cute chick you've just talked to?"

Nik ignored his question and placed his hands in his pockets. Feeling his loss of interest in gossip the blue-haired boy said, "Hmm, I guess she had piqued your attention. Then I guess I have to get a chance and see what she looks like. I even counted the minutes you've stood with her."

Counting his fingers he said, "Approximately 3.5 minutes. Ooh! she's broken the record. No girl has ever stood with you for more than a second. Finally, the cold heart is starting to melt. So will you marry-"

"Laine! Shut up!" hissed Nik coldly, casting him a 'One more word and you're dead' look. The guy called Laine immediately shut his mouth and giggled.

Not that he feared him, just that Laine was too naughty. So to keep his friend's good mood he did as he was told. Laine and Nik were childhood friends so they were quite close. The two being pure demon nobles, they held a high status in Arcando's Light. Also with the help of their looks, they grew quite used to fame and popularity.

Nik Spencer had an icy cold appearance however, he wasn't like that before. Having encountered a torrent of tragedy which traumatized him, he grew cold with time. None could enter his heart except two people, his friend, Laine and her.

Laine had been flirting with a couple of girls that seemed to surround him near the entrance to the main building when he caught sight of Nik pulling a girl's hand. What happened to him to catch a girl's hand voluntarily?" he had thought.

He excused himself from the fawning girls who never ceased to follow him. However, before he could catch a glimpse of the girl that piqued his cold friend's interest, she had already dashed away from him.

"I must find out who she is!" firmly resolved Laine, a dark glint sparked in his black eyes.
