Later that evening, Seyan boringly sat in her room. Nothing to do since she lacked any gadgets. Being the unfavored princess, her parents hadn't bothered with her. She was the last born but she hardly saw or talked to her siblings. According to Seyan's memories, she found out that her elder brother, Ron had a bad reputation and hence he rarely stays at home. While her elder sister, Rayan had gone for further studies abroad.
Seyan had been the dull and introverted type thus most of the time she had been neglected. No one cared about her except the personal young maid God knows where she came from who cared for her. However, her earlier interaction with her mother showed that perhaps one of them cared. Maybe she was stubborn and her previous personality had pushed her away from her family.
After contemplating her situation she decided to seek her father. Having observed her brother who was an architect in her previous life, she knew a few things about buildings and designs so gazing at the parallel corridors that led in different directions, she guessed where her father's sturdy was.
She stealthily moved down the corridor until she finally stood before a closed wooden black door. She caressed the door, feeling its smooth texture of it. Gazing at the golden door knob on it, she raised her hand and softly knocked on the door. Silence replied her.
Seyan placed her ear on the door to hear if there were any movements inside. Unfortunately, she heard nothing. Seyan knocked on the door for the second time still no reply. She sighed and turned her body to leave. Just before she could drift away from the door, she heard the twisting sound of the doorknob and a gigantic figure with a cold unapproachable gaze stood before her.
Upon seeing Seyan, he frowned deeply. He seemed to hate her presence which somehow pained Seyan. However, it wasn't the time to think about pain. She approached her father and politely said, "Dad, can I come in?"
Logan Murin saw the expectant gaze in her brown eyes directly at him. He saw the change in his daughter's eyes as the previous Seyan wouldn't even look at him while he talked to her. She always had her head bowed down to earth. The father-daughter duo stared at each other as though in a staring contest and none seemed to be backing down.
Logan wanted to see if his daughter would shy away like she used to but he was stunned when she maintained her gaze on him. The wall of disdain he built against his daughter somehow began to crack. Feeling satisfied with her confidence, he silently opened the door wider, motioning her to enter.
Seyan closed the door behind her and headed to her father who had sat behind his large elegant desk. He looked to be busy as a pile of files and papers rested beside him. Seyan stared at her father who had resumed his work. The silence was quite awkward however, none seemed to lighten the mood.
Logan felt the intense gaze from his daughter and raised his head to look at her. Finally having his attention, Seyan cleared her throat and said, "Dad, I want to go to school."
"What did you say?" Logan was shocked at his daughter's statement. So straightforward.
"Yes, I want to go to school," she repeated firmly.
Logan saw no point in refusing her request so he replied, "Ok, I'll send someone to get an admission letter for you."
"Great, thanks dad," chirruped Seyan and then continued to glance at her father who had immediately returned to his work.
Logan felt that his daughter hadn't left so he raised his head and looked at her once again. He noticed that she had maintained the neutral gaze she had since she came in.
Raising his eyebrow he asked, "Anything else?"
"Yes, dad can I get a tablet?" She prodded.
Logan sighed feeling a little bit guilty. It looked like her daughter had started coming out of her shell. He nodded curtly and said, "It'll be delivered to you in half an hour."
"Ok, thanks, dad. I shall take my leave then," Seyan said politely and left the room.
Logan witnessed her daughter elegantly exit his sturdy, her head held high in confidence like it was natural. He didn't say anything and silently continued with his work.
Finally, the next day Seyan woke up very early in the morning and left for the academy together with her little new sister, Reyo. How could she bear to part with her? She begged her mother to convince her father to let her go with Reyo to school. She would teach her a few things or two.
The journey to her college was a silent but harmonious one. The ignorant Reyo kept on staring at the large buildings that passed behind as they voyaged. She stared at her and found herself amused by her cute and pure innocent eyes that eagerly ravaged the scene of the bustling city.
An hour later, the simple black chauffeur parked in front of an enormous black gate with the name 'Arcando's Light Academy' carved on it. The gates automatically opened as they steered into the vicinities. The vicinities had breathtaking gardens with ancient buildings that were a bit modified making them look quite classy.
The vicinities were quiet indicating the rest of the students were attending classes. Since Seyan's father had helped her with the registration processes, she only had to report officially. The chauffeur parked a few inches away from the main building, a huge building that was isolated from the rest that stood in the middle of the land.
'Main building' had been labelled at the top of it. 'This is where the reception is,' thought Seyan. Entering the building, Seyan sauntered towards the reception. A middle-aged female stood behind the reception desk. She smiled upon seeing Seyan's arrival.
''Hello, I'm Seyan Murin. I've come to report officially," Seyan said.
"Have you finished registration?" inquired the lady as her fingers danced on the keyboard.
"Yes, I did," nodded Seyan firmly.
The female retrieved a copy of a paper with a couple of words printed on it and handed it to Seyan. Then she smiled, "Welcome To ALT!"
