Without waiting for a words, she turned and left. She walked away without a glances back, her steps full of confidence but with high speed. She took another glance of wine from a waiter tray since hers was already empty and drank half of it. She lost count of how much she drank over the night.
She continue her way without paying attention to here surrounding and lightly bumped into someone.
"Look at where you are going. You could have cause real accident here," the man she bumped into said straitening his suits.
Already knowing whom it was by the voice, Eva didn't care to apologies.
"Wow, who is the cause of the animosity I feel in you?" he asked.
Eva rolled her eyes and didn't answer. She lifted her glass to drink but it was snatched out of her hand midway before it reaches her mouth.
"Give me back," she snapped, trying to take it from him but the man put it out of her reach.
"You obviously drank enough for the day. I can't let my friend be drunk in such a place," he argued and put the glass on the tray of a waiter who passed by.
"I won't have drank much if you have just answered my message,"
"Sorry, I was busy with some ladies. They won't give me time to breathe. I was looking for you right now, I just saw your massage," Noah said. A faint smile on his face.
"What so ever," she muttered and tried to walk away from him but he stopped her by putting both of his hands on either shoulder.
"Who got you so angry love?" he asked to which she didn't reply.
He turned her around and had her face the direction from which she was coming from. Hands still on her shoulder, he leaned over her shoulder and whispered, "who are we hating love," he asked scrutinising the surrounding in front of him and stopped when his eyes landed on a particular group of four people.
"But we already hate them," he turned her back in a swift movement, making her facing him now.
"No one new?" he asked humor dancing in his eyes.
She rolled her eyes and folded her arms, her purse in her hands. No words left her lips.
"Why hating when we can love?" she shot him a glare. He knew exactly what was wrong with her, what was going on.
"Ok!" he lifted his hand in defeat with a little smile on his face. He knew what he was doing.
"Thought you sow not to step a foot in here, what happen?" he asked curious.
Eva shrugged, "nothing, just changed my mind," He would not let her off it for days if she tell him the reasons.
Getting no real explanation, he didn't insist. He stared at the group of four and said after a moment,
"We should go and greet them. I haven't met with Klaus and the others since high school. I did came across Melissa sometimes,"
They shared the same milieu. He was in to fashion and with Melissa being a model and a designer, they met often. Though he doubt the fact she knows who he was.
"I just came from there. I'm good here, you can go," Eva said with her eyes roaming around for a waiter.
For some reason, tonight she had the urge to drink when normally she would barely finish a glass all through the night. She had her little idea on what was going on and why she was drinking so much.
"No, you are coming with me." he grabbed her arm and make their way to the group of four.
"You are my friend, how can you let me go in the lion den all by myself. I need another lion to be able to stand a chances," he said.
"You can just not go." She tried to resist but he was already pulling her with him.
In no time they were a couple of step away from them. The group noticed them coming their way and all had a confusion look on their face. The question was, was it because of Eva coming back to them or for Noah and Eva intertwine arms.
The four shared a look before giving their attention back to the couple who just joined them. Not only was the four of them who had their attention on the couple. The other guest didn't fail to notice their intimate proximity who was strange coming from ex fiancé. They were all wondering if the two were back to be a couple.
"I finally get the chance to have the glimpse of the star of the night and I have being here for hours." Noah began, getting the attention of all.
He arrived since the early night with his parent but till now, he didn't get the occasion to greet Klaus. It was not as if he was anyway trying to talk to him. Eva's enemy was his enemy.
"What a special moment to have the five of us together. It didn't happen since high school. Especially with you Mr. Briar. At least the others, I got to meet over the years," he said.
They all stared at him confused, having no idea what he was talking about.
"But giving their reaction they have idea whom I am. It just show how insignificant I am," he added.
Eva elbowed him on his side. He turn to look at her, just to be greeted by a glare coming from her. She hates it went he put himself down, even as a joke. A thin line lay between truth and jokes.
"You are?" Klaus asked giving a brief glance to their intertwine arms before having his eye resting on his face. His face showing no emotions except confusion.
"I'm Noah Clack." he introduced himself.
"We have being in high school together," he proceeded.
"No idea," Klaus said.
"Of course. I wasn't quite popular back then nor now so it makes sense you don't know about me," he said no offended.
Also he wasn't in the same class with the rest of them, same year though.
"You are the guy who was always with Eva by the end of the two last year of high school," Melissa said eyeing him up and down. Back then he was round but the person standing in front of her had no sign of fat.
"Himself," he said full of proud.
"I thought we were an eye sore?" Klaus asked amused.
"My love didn't want to come, I force her to accompany me. Be surrounded by so much power is frightening for the man I am," he sent a slow glance across them starting from Elsa to Melissa followed by Zachariah before it rest back on Klaus.
He was from a wealthy family but compare to the farewell, Shine, Anderson or Briar, he was at the bottom of the chain. He understood that much but it wasn't the reason he insisted on her to come with him.
"Love?" Zach asked shifting glance from both of them before it stop to their intertwine arms and back on Eva face.
"Aren't you ex?" he recognised him on spot. He was Eva ex fiancé, but how can they be so close? When Eva said they remained friends, he didn't think it was to such an extent. What he didn't know though, was the fact they schooled together. He has no recollection of him.
"Love and I know each other for years, a simple thing like broken engagement can't separate us," he intertwine their finger and brought the back of her hands near his mouth a place a soft kiss on it.
"So you are the fiancé," Klaus asked.
"So you do know about me,"
"I know of a guy stupid enough to want to marry Farewell but got lucky when the engagement has being broken," Klaus remarked.
"I'm the one at lost in here," Noah lamented.
"Pff," Elsa laughed out at his words, getting everyone attention.
"Any problem, Fav?" he asked, not losing his cool.
"Don't call me that," she snapped at him.
"And you respect your elders. Haven't mother taught you such a basic things?" Eva scolded her.
"Eva, I…" she struggled with her words. Her stands change from confident to a little girl. Her eyelashes blinking innocently, wondering what she did wrong to be scolded.
"Stop the act Fav. You can't fool me anymore remember," she has long stop believing her act of the innocent little sister who knew nothing.
For Eva, if hypocrite was a person, it would be Elsa.
"Eva what are you talking about," she blink out soft tear off her red eyes. She tried to hold Eva hand but the latter took a step back. Elsa looked down feeling wronged and ashamed to meet their eyes.
"Never tired, are you Fav?" Eva asked, "Still wanting to give me the bad role. I'm ok with that. I'm the evil elder sister and you are the innocent little sister, happy?"
"Eva, no," she shook her head, at the verge of crying, her eyes red.
"Stop it already," she snapped out. It wasn't funny anymore.
"Stop her or else she will broke down into tears in front of everyone," she asked the three friends who was staring at their interaction with pure confusion.
They have never saw Eva treating Elsa in such a way. She was her precious little sister for whom she would do anything. The boys remember when she got into a fight with older boys because they were bullying Elsa. She had no chance to win but it didn't stop her to fight. In the end the three of them lose but the bullies didn't bother Elsa after that. How could that lovely relation change to this? Have all Eva love changed into hate?
"You won fav," Eva said, taking a look at the people watching them.
"For all of them I'm the bad guy," she took a hold on to Noah arm.
"I'm out of here," she said and just like the last time, she leaved without waiting for their reaction. Earlier she was angry but now, she was just tired. So tired of it all.
"Sorry. I didn't expect it to turn like this," Noah apologised.
"It's not your fault. All of this is mine," she said. Her voice low, her eyes unable to look at anyone. Noah didn't add anything else and they both walked in silence.
