Chapter 2 - Lore of the Giant

In the world of Hilderia is a vast diversity of races.

The very ideology of the survival of the fittest - was a code by which this world seemed to go. The Strong prey on the weak, and the weak hide and prey on weaker species or subspecies of the same race or an entirely different race.

Out of all the races in Hildera, the most famous of them were: The Dragons for their raw power, the giants for their size and destruction, and The Essence-Stealing Lycanthropes which were different from the regular Lycans.

The Giant-kind was very peculiar.

They were all massive in size, most of them lacking proper standard intelligence.

The Giant race can be classified into 4 main groups namely: The Nord, The Sudr, The Austr, and The Vestr.

They may be called Giant, but they were biologically different from one another, the only similarity being that their size towered over all that lived and breathed in Hilderia.

The Nord were the giants of the frost that lived in the north.

The Nord possessed hair, pitch-black eyes, and Ice-blue skin. Their loin cloth made from the bark of Flame squash which was extremely durable.

These people inhabited the snowcapped peak of Radolva. They lived in caves that they personally chiseled into the mountains, they were the only known, remaining, and seen race of the giant as they often came out to hunt the weaker races for sports.

The Nord territory of Raldova was private and remained till the present day inaccessible to non-Nords. These beings of chilled grasp and mastery over the winds and water as a combined element created the first technique of Ice in all of Hilderia.

Had good governance, formerly ruled by the now-diseased Utgard. The most powerful and insane of the Nords. They were warriors who fought in the great war of Hilderia eons ago. Had poor dieting.

Cannibalistic in nature.

Enjoyed a delicacy called Visitor's Squash made from boiled flame squash and a Visitors remains.

The peaks of Raldova were cold... very cold, so cold that plant life was poor. The only plant that was grown in that region was flame squash, which was used in most of their daily crafts.

With the influence of magic, it could grow as fast as it was needed.

Their rule for visitors was simple: If a person didn't belong there, they weren't expected to be there. All that entered was never to be heard of ever again.

The Sudr on the other hand were a tad bit more educated than their counterpart - The Nord

The Sudr were covered in an exoskeleton of a molten substance that was said to be able to melt through the hard exterior of the dragon race, easy red eyes, and funny-shaped bald heads, their biology made it unable to grow hair.

They consume mineral-rich rocks for nutrition.

The Sudr lived in pools of molten made from their essence.

The Sudr - The giants of the south, living in the desolate, barren, heat-devasted, desert-torn lands, the Volcanic islands of Wenovia.

After the Great War of Hilderia, with the dragons coming victorious; The Sudr were supposedly wiped off the plains of Hilderia.

They regrouped south to what is now known as Wenovia. They are forgers and warriors.

At very young ages they are educated on ways the way of the flames and methods to use their heated essence for forging, they believe that another war is about to shake the whole world and they need to be ready for its coming.

Terribly saddened by their loss and poor performance in the war.

The cause of the war?

It was for one reason and one reason alone: Who is It? Is It real? and if so, where was It?

The rumored slayer of the Vestr.

The true enigma of Hilderia

The Austr formally thought to be a peaceful colony because of their love and respect for their domain and all it contains, that idea was scrapped after their contribution to what seemed to be the forgotten history of Hilderia.

They live in the Quaking Forest alongside the pixie fairies; its name was derived from the frequent earthquakes that occur from the movement, squabbles, and frequent conflict of The Austr.

Unknown to humans they blamed the king of the Night (justly so of course)

So primitive the Giant-kind was in general.

This particular giant resembles humans though they look barbaric... so much more savage looking. Together with the pixies, they tend to the forest with their powerful muscles and the Pixies' nature magic.

They also possess the ability of the combination of Earth and Water elements to create "Mother Nature's call."

Nothing much was known about them.

Along the coastline exists the last and final naturally occurring giant in the world of Hilderia.

The Vestr

Shapeshifting giants take the form of sea monsters, they devour all that is foolish enough to set sail into their domain. Due to their deceptive nature of leading all to their demise, their true form has long been forgotten.

They take the shape of anything they need to survive.

This species is endangered and in hiding.

Rumors have it that Uleen Virgo took it upon Itself to hunt down these disgusting Tricksters.

All giants possessed power.

Raw unfiltered power to lift and throw anything turning it into a hurling projectile, disposing of opponents in long, mid, and short-range with relative ease.

With the influence of Uleen Virgo, all who lived in Hilderia had no right to conflict with one another. Uleen was the King of the Night, after all, It felt that if life should be taken his consent should be sought beforehand.

All the races thought it too ridiculous of a decree, but if they were against it, no one ever knew. The only people who went against this were The Vestr.

Powerful as they were

In their long-since-forgotten true form joined all their manpower to attack just one creature.

Uleen Virgo

Uleen Itself basking in all Its glory. Uleen laid waste to the Vestr tribe, formerly millions in number- now reduced to a mere hundred or so.

Feeding on the essence of the dead Vestr in the middle of the battlefield as he mocked them for such weakness, stupidity, and insubordination.

Uleen was indeed powerful in every sense of it, It was also a master of getting into the mind of others. In this manslaughter, after feeding on a Vestr, It would chuck the body of a dead Vestr to a nearby alive Vestr as if trying to assert dominance and superiority.

Angering them even more.

In anger there is irrationality and in irrationality there lies failure. They broke formation charging toward It to end the life of the King.

Now blood-lusted and amped from the essence of the vast legions of Vestr It consumed.

The hunter roared in rage transforming into the hunter of the night in broad daylight inducing fear in them all.

That is when they knew that they couldn't win.

With a joint diversion attack, they were able to shift into creatures so small and slip away from the grasp of Uleen. Permanently taking the shape of anything that wasn't the form of The Vestr.

The escape wasn't without consequence, Uleen swore to hunt and wipe out all of them in the future, in addition, cursed all the females of the race unable to reproduce.

Slowly reducing their number as time passed.

All who heard of the tragedy came to fear or respect Uleen Virgo.

This was how the hunter, became the Slayer of the Vestr.

As for the Giants...

Any other giant that didn't belong to the four main categories: Nord, Sudr, Austr, and the Vestr, were considered abominations and rejected in all on Hilderia.

The lore of the Giant is that of complexity, twists and turns no one has ever seen them and lived to tell the tale. According to the prophecy by the Great Giants there exists a realm at the center where all giants co-reside with one another; Sharing culture, knowledge, techniques, and experiences living in harmony.

This in all of the History books was the Lore of the Giants.
