Chapter 1 - Night and Power

The legends have it that in the dark - lurks a beast that hunts, Its age is that of billions. Beings like him exist called the Origins, capable of such universal magnificence, It may very well be that this particular one is the scariest. Its aura and Charisma so piercing and dangerous, once the most loving, It is now a shell of what it once was. In the world known to its habitants as Hilderia, exists great great magics, different races such as Dragons, gods of the various realms, Elves, Giants, Humans, Ware-beings, Chimeras of different Classes, so many of them, and some enviable abominations: Flight, Creation of flames, control of the elements, and curses, even with all these, It was still the worst of them all.

Like that of the stories told to little children, this beast is fast, agile, and strong, It can Transform into the ultimate predator, has control over the elements, and can manipulate the very area around its surroundings that any living thing in its immediate vicinity is forced to obey Its command, It's natures abomination, at the same time existed before all that lives and breathes, no power is greater than Its in this world.

If a person is to gaze upon it, no prayer will save them, for its mercilessness knows no bounds. It is known for its tenacity and ever-growing hunger for living essence, beautiful entrapping pale skin, deceptive voice, and endearing attitude.

Uleen Virgo The King of the Night, Hunter of hunters, The slayer of the Vestr

Across all of time and all known history, It has always been, and will always be alone, destined to journey all of Hilderia's plains alone, for that is Its curse. Nothing ever comes easy for great power comes great loneliness; the Origins are not discussed for It may be a story concocted by others to the soft-hearted louts who can't believe that a living organism can journey Hilderia's vast lands alone for eons. They say, "It has brothers, they all just died out." or in some scenarios "It probably sat alongside the great creator Jordan, they were probably acquaintances before It committed a great offense to the Great Creator, a crime so unforgivable that he was cursed." All these were just great speculations by 'Story-Tellers.'

With Tales like these people look down on It as a simple legend, a story made to scare infant youths "Don't go to the forests alone, It lurks at every dark corner.", mothers will always be in panic and fear of their children missing or worst-case scenario death in the mysterious woods that have taken the lives of so many.

No human knew Its name or even dared to refer to 'It' as 'him' even though It was a male creature.

"The king of the night" or "It" is what he was called, fearing his presence. All believed that calling Its name would bring disaster to the whole community.

Uleen Virgo, the King of the Night, the greatest evil to breathe, there were rumors about Its palace being at the edge of this world and in it contained a boundless army of enslaved souls that he tortured for entertainment.

With all these magics at easy disposal, the humans, being the weakest of the races found a way to harness power to protect their weak and formerly defenseless communities. Forming groups such as Adventuring or Hunting groups which were usually divided into classes from F-99999 to SSS-01(the top being the king [the most powerful human]) the lore of how it all works is still a mystery.

The first and most powerful magical artifact was the magical heart of some ancient god that was said to have died in battle as a King... The king of the Origins, Dike the monstrous embodiment of power and defiance, the lore states that Dike the strong was the strongest of the Origins.

His heart affected the land after it was discovered and brought to the human Territory of Talen, the land around was able to absorb the excess energy spewing off from it, and the people were able to enchant themselves with such power.

That day was known as the great catastrophe, the lives of countless friends, family, and neighbors; were said to be either lost, crippled, or influenced by the power of Power. They thought to themselves "The King of the Night has struck again", everybody seemed to be saying the same thing. It wasn't enough that the humans were so weak: other races plagued them, attacked them, and killed them back when all the humans were still normal and lived in a complete rural mess.

On that day the humans brought the heart of power into their territory and were plagued by its atrocities, came Utgard.

The most infamous of the giants, Utgard was a giant of the frost, ugly big junk of absolute crap, loud, rude, demanding, hateful, and spiteful, an absolute bully who had to be put down. The humans were in a state of absolute anarchy, from the ability that the heart of power was bestowing upon them.

Some were devoured by the flame they created and were running around in total madness, with that Utgard landed in the village center everyone was panicking and running. Utgard killed hundreds of humans, even still everyone was expected to bow in respect, even after that humiliation.

Those who tried to fight back all tried in vain and lost their lives.

Dread, disgust, and hate filled the heart of a local Shaman, prompting him to foolishly charge toward Utgard with the intent of killing him. Utgard towered over the entire village, like an angry deity, he looked down to see the small Shaman coming towards him. Utgard was so vexed at such defiance.

The very idea of the weak fighting back baffled and disgusted him.

With all his might, he shoved the shaman with a toenail, the poor Shaman flew a distance, going towards the Heart of Power and impaling his heart in the process. Sending it flying out of his body leaving a huge hole in its wake and with an insane amount of blood gushing out.

The heart of power stayed in the place of his heart as if to signify that it had chosen the nobody of a man as its new host. Power erupted from the entire village, but no human was hurt.

It seemed that the shaman meant good for his people.

Casting a protective charm on them all.

With barely any effort the unknown shaman was able to jump a distance into the sky decapitating the head of Utgard before he knew what happened.

This show of power was not without consequence.

Insanity crept inside the mind of the no-name Shaman, as he stood on the now fallen corpse of Utgard, what mighty strength he now possessed lifting the ginormous head of the lifeless giant as putrid purple essence draped out and showering him in a newfound sense of battle lust. He was lost in the corruption of the mighty power, laughing out of control and roaring shaking the very land itself, people took it as a sign that he was happy, but it wasn't so, there was an air of bad omen leaking out.

The humans were dancing and rejoicing, their first stake at power to defend themselves from all the power-hungry races who killed them for sports. This was true retribution for all of humankind.

That was the day that every soul in all the human society on Hilderia knew the name Andrea Hill the shaman, the hero, and the first Hunter-Adventurer.

Andrea, now the king of the humans used his vast power and intellect from the influence of the Heart of Power to terraform the human society into what it is today.
