Chapter 13 - Next job

"... I guess she is the type who enjoys more psychological terror than physical torture. My stronger mind won against her tactics. That is right, ignore her tears. Tears are a woman's strongest weapon."

Tears are often regarded as a woman's strongest weapon because of their emotional impact. When a woman shows tears, it can evoke a powerful response from those around her, eliciting feelings of empathy, guilt, or even a sense of protectiveness.

Firstly, tears are a potent expression of vulnerability. In a society that often expects women to be strong and resilient, tears can serve as a stark reminder of their humanity, breaking down barriers and forging connections on a deeply emotional level. This vulnerability can disarm even the most hardened hearts, fostering understanding and compassion in others.

Secondly, tears have the ability to convey complex emotions that words alone cannot express. Whether born of sorrow, frustration, or joy, tears speak volumes about the depth of a woman's feelings, resonating with those who witness them and compelling them to respond in kind. This emotional transparency can foster intimacy and strengthen relationships, creating bonds that transcend words.

Lastly, when a woman sheds tears, they destroy the fabric of reality and logic. Even if you have the reason on your side, you will be deemed a monster if you make a woman cry. Even other men will scorn a guy for making a woman cry for whatever reason.

"Well, who cares? She was probably crying thanks to the other guy. Time to focus on my own businesses."

After that, I had a lot of time to plan the next day's activities, but occasionally, the image of the vampire Queen crying came to mind… It seemed that I still needed some training.

When morning came, one of the armored guys of the throne room came to free me from my cell. He seemed pretty pissed as well since he was grunting beneath his helmet that hid his entire face.

"Has anyone ever said to you that you have a beautiful smile?"

The guard grunted a bit more before pulling the chains and making me fall to the ground. I quickly got up and then grabbed my sword.

"Are you completely brain-dead? Learn to take a joke, dude."

The guard left, and then I decided to follow him since I only knew the way out of the castle through the throne room, and the moron was heading there. Fortunately, I just have to climb a few sets of stairs and then cross a single corridor to reach the throne room. Roskarl and the vampire queen were already there and she looked angry as usual… it seemed that she was pretending that she didn't cry that night.

"Her Majesty decided to hold your punishment for a while, and she is graciously willing to forgive you if you complete a certain job."

"Graciously?"

"Can't you stay quiet for five minutes?"

"No. I like the sound of my own voice."

Roskarl couldn't help but facepalm… as usual, I was dead set on making things convenient for me, and that was by having fun while annoying others who treated me as lesser than them.

"... While making you recover your strength as fast as possible is the best option, there are many ways to do that, and we have problems to solve as well. Including the problems that your actions caused. The orcs have heard about your return, and they decided to rebel since they want you to be executed again. Your job is to head there and deal with them."

"They want me to die again? They must be pretty reasonable. What kind of crime requires someone to die, being revived only to be executed again?"

"... I will monitor you from the shadows, but you won't have any help from me. You have one week to calm them down using any means necessary."

"That is what I wanted to hear. Not the part that you will watch me from the shadows."

"Once they know who you are, they will try to kill you. So, it is better if you don't reveal your identity. Roskarl won't help you even in that kind of situation."

The vampire Queen sure looked amused while saying that since she was smiling… It seemed that she get her kicks in situations like that. While mentioning her tears, I wanted to make fun of her attitude, but my men's pride didn't allow me to fall that low…

"Failure is not permitted. If you fail, I will add some painful restrictions to the bidding spell. Your mission and its countdown have already started."

"Yes, yes. Thank you for allowing me to breathe the same air as you, Your Majesty. Oh wait, I can't breathe."

"... We are going now."

While sighing, Roskarl forced me to walk using his Telekinesis again… that was a bit annoying. Still, given my actions, it was understandable.

"The orcs are quite violent and hard to deal with. They are so annoying that no one wants to live with them."

"What about it?"

"I am just warning you of the difficulties that you will face. You should use the dungeon of their territory for a while in order to gain strength and eventually get their approval. They only listen to those who beat them and their current leader is quite annoying."

"Birds of a feather flock together, right? I thought that everyone here would obey the Queen if she showed them her legs a bit, but it looks that some of the people here have real balls of steel. It will be fun to deal with them."
