Chapter 16 - Counter

I smirked when I saw the blood gushing from the wound on the monster's hands. Now I finally could face those fuckers without having to rely on magic every single time.

"Who could do a better job than me? Literally anyone. Seriously, it was about time…"

The monster grunted in pain while I raised the sword again… and soon, it tried to block the attack with the other arm instead of the hand. I accepted that and just adjusted my aim a bit… making the sword halfway through the wrist of the beast.

"You aren't very smart, are you? You must be the type who extinguishes a fire with your bare hands instead of using water."

The monster was in pain, but it was still more pissed than afraid… it wasn't showing any signs of fear, actually. As expected of a monster from the lands of the retards…

Without its hands, the monster couldn't do much and just by running around the creature, was able to create many openings to attack once more. While I didn't get a clean hit on the head, I was still able to kill it without suffering any damage, so I was fine with it.

"I guess this much progress is fine… before reaching the first boss of this dungeon, I should be able to solo this kind of thing pretty fast. If anything, I can also always grind here."

The combination of experience for sloth and wrath was a bit off for me, but it was fine; one's life doesn't always go as one has planned. If it went, I would have had three girlfriends at the same time in high school. Please forgive me for being a horny teenager years ago. Besides, isn't that normal? If you are a guy, you always have to be horny. (Individual opinions may vary.)

{The Sin of Wrath received 100 experience points.}

{The Sin of Sloth received 100 experience points.}

{The Sin of Sloth leveled up. Charisma has increased by two points.}

"Yeah, I really don't like charisma… I am not sure how this will help me in the future, but I still don't like it, and I don't think that this will change."

The next few fights went without a hitch, and just as expected, I got another level in both sins before finding the entrance to the next floor. The corridors were large but not that long.

Without hesitation, I climbed down, wondering what I was going to find next on the next floor… anything would be fine as long as Wrath keeps getting experience.

"I should also check the first skills and the parameters that the other sins will grant, but for now, I truly just wanted to cleave my enemies with my sword… it is annoying that I don't have that much freedom, after all. That woman seems to be more than it meets the eyes… but her attitude is just insufferable. I am tired of ignoring bad behavior from women just because they are attractive."

The next floor was the same as the previous one, but I soon noticed some differences in the ceiling. The stalactites there looked thicker, but some of them had fallen, and I couldn't see them on the ground at all, nor signs of them, either.

After taking a few steps into the place, I soon found another monster emerging from the ground… it didn't matter how many times I saw that I would never get used to it. In any case, the creature looked the same as the previous one… but this one was smaller; it had a stone club and a long nose as well that resembled something else… if I had eyes, I would have bleached them at that very moment.

Thanks to my surprise, the monster had the chance to charge at me. It was pretty fast… when it swung its stone club, I felt that it was an excellent chance to have an interesting match against the monster… a sword vs a stone club.

"Let's duel. En garde, dicknose."

I charged as well, and soon, our weapons collided. The impact made sparks emerge from my sword, and then it trembled, and the impact passed through my body… it seemed that with a weapon, we had the same level of strength since none of us was flinching. However, the monster was only using one hand and soon tried to grab me with the other, but I jumped backward with all my might.

"No, no, no. I am not going to let you touch me when there is a chance that you will try to smell me up close with that thing."

The enemy was stupid enough not to use both hands to attack, and while that was convenient for me, things weren't that simple. I also didn't want to damage my sword since it was hard to get another one that looked as sick looking as that one… After thinking for a moment, I moved the sword to the side and then lowered my stance… I was completely wide open for an attack, but at least I assumed the perfect stance for a counterattack… my sword had better reach as well, after all.

The monster didn't consider any of that and then just charged before jumping to swing down its stone club. At the last moment, I swung the sword with all my might and then hit the monster from the side… the weapon cleaved through deeply the torso of the enemy. While the momentum of the enemy attack pushed me backward, it also made the sword cut deeply… the enemy agonized midair. Still, it didn't reach me… before long, it dropped the stone club and trembled for a while as the blood gushed from the wound… I had a hard time pulling back the blade, but once I did that, the beast was finished off.
