As soon as I raised my right hand to use Envious Flame, the monster grabbed his sword and raised his guard… even though I looked weak, it looked like the enemy was planning to take things seriously from the beginning.
I could test the defenses of the monster. Still, I didn't have that much mana to begin with, so I decided to avoid attacking… even if the beast blocked the attack, the creature was bound to suffer some damage if I attacked at close range.
It seemed that the goblin hero didn't care about that, or perhaps he didn't consider it since he soon charged at Rain with his shield raised… when the creature was ten meters away, I used the spell and then targeted the right leg of the beast as soon as it touched the ground with a step. The monster lowered his shield to block the attack, but only half of it was blocked. The other hit the knee of the enemy and then made the goblin hero flinch and slow down.
I fired another at the face of the monster, but the creature swung down its sword and split the fireball in half. The projectile didn't even explode; both sides just flew in opposite directions. The beast soon got close enough to try to smash me with the shield, but I jumped to the side and avoided the attack. While sliding on the ground, while attempting to change its direction, the boss looked at me but soon was hit on its side by a fireball that exploded upon contact.
The monster grunted in pain while I was getting up… facing something like that with my joke of a sword, and my current level of strength would be insane, so I had to solve that with magic.
"This hurts my pride a bit… the pride that was built on very few accomplishments so far."
I pointed my hand at the monster once more, and the creature hid its head behind the round shield… that was the right response, but too quick. In the end, I adjusted my aim and hit the knee that the half of the fireball hit previously. At that range, the monster didn't have the chance to react to it, and the flames began to burn his flesh.
Before long, the wound on his knee was showing level two-degree burns. Considering how much damage it had caused, I could only imagine that the monster was supposed to have at least ten times more health than me.
"Let's make this fight a bit more fair,"
The monster grunted in anger since it could tell that I was joking around a bit… or maybe it was because it was suffering damage agaisnt someone much weaker. Too bad for him, but I wasn't stupid enough to fight on its terms when I was weaker.
When the monster recovered, it soon opened its eyes widely when it saw me charging toward it… In the last moment, I prepared to leap and attack from above… in the last moment, the creature smirked and then raised his guard a bit, but soon I changed my posture and then dropped my sword to use Envious Flame. The monster moved his shield to block the attack, but its right shoulder was hit with half of the attack, and soon, I used the spell two times more on the wounded knee of the beast.
"Ugggghhhh…"
When the flames extinguished, the wound was showing third-degree burns… Thanks to the pain, the enemy was forced to change his pivot stance while I was recovering my sword… the beast wouldn't be able to dash without feeling some pain.
"Don't grunt. Are you a dog? Don't blame me for falling for such an obvious trick. I suspect you might be retarded."
Taunting the enemy was very effective… the goblin hero charged while ignoring the pain in his knee thanks to his anger… his movements didn't slow down at all, so soon I had to see the massive blade of the enemy passing close to my shoulder after I jumped a little to the side…
That had been a risky move, but it paid off since the monster was left wide open and hit its head at point-blank range with Envious Flame… the power of the attacks had been so high that they exploded upon contact and burned my hands a bit as well.
After roaring in pain once again after three of those hits, the monster swung his massive sword vertically… I jumped backward while holding the sword to block the attack… the sound of metal clashing echoed in the area. I was pushed backward for several meters… my entire body shook thanks to the impact. I was unable to move for several seconds… moreover, a massive dent mark was left on the sword.
"I guess this was probably on sale… or maybe it is just a level one sword…"
The enemy didn't have the chance to come up with a follow-up attack since the creature was in pain… half of its head had been burned, after all. Now, the goblin hero looked like the two faces and was very much in pain. Seeing that, I couldn't help but smile… the attack that I blocked cost me one-fifth of my health; if I had been directly hit, I would have become two incomplete piles of bones. However, I survived, and the enemy suffered a lot. That was refreshing…
"Hooray for me, who doesn't have much more conscience and morals… not like there is any point in having human morals when I am among monsters now."
I pointed my hand at the goblin hero once again, and he lowered his stance and hid behind the shield. The exposed area of attack had been decreased, but that certainly lowered the enemy's movement. I used that chance to put away the sword and try to use the wand and see what happens…
