{The Sin of Envy received fifty experience points.}
"Envy now? I thought it would be lust…"
"Perhaps you should be thankful for this since, from the very beginning, you had problems with lust. I advised you Many times to not absorb the power of lust from your opponents."
"Sorry to say this, but… actually, I am not sorry at all. I really didn't want to hear this from an old man."
"The feeling is mutual. Anyway, you ended up making a lot of enemies along the journey because of lust, and thanks to your betrayal, pretty much everyone in our country hates you, so you might be digging your own grave. I also have the feeling that Her Majesty will give the order for you to avoid enemies like that."
"She really wants to put me on a tight leash, huh?"
The vampire Queen was quickly falling behind in my scale… I have seen plenty of girls like that on Earth. Just because they think that they are hot, they can do whatever they want. The kingdom could be as well a kingdom filled with simps, but no way in hell I am going to become her lap dog. Perhaps I should spend a few days in the dungeon and grind like there was no tomorrow to speed up the process of freeing myself.
In any case, the fights on that floor were a bit more challenging, so I had a bit of fun… the only downside was the fact that the sword was losing durability every time I destroyed the fireballs with it. I could tell that Roskarl truly wanted to see the weapon breaking when I faced the boss on the next floor…
{The Sin of Envy received fifty experience points.}
{The Sin of Envy leveled up. Magic has increased by two points.}
"Hehe, I have a good feeling about this one."
Since Sloth increased my charisma, and that granted me the skill to command others, I immediately assumed that I would get my first offensive magic spell when that sin reached level five. With that in mind, staying a few hours on that floor and grinding my magic would be the way to go."
"I forgot to ask this now… but can I sell anything that I find here outside?"
"No, nothing found in the dungeon can be taken out from the dungeon. Aside from the things that you can get by defeating the boss."
"Why?"
"It is just how it is."
That didn't make any sense… but from Roskarl's perspective, it might be the same as asking why the sky is blue. In any case, at some point, I decided to stop damaging the sword further since I had no money, and I didn't want to owe anyone anything. Thanks to the bidding spell, I was pretty much a slave, but I had to keep working on the future when I won't be one… when it comes to that kind of stuff, naturally, money is the first issue. The second is my safety. Once I free myself, that whole country will become my enemy, so I will need the power to fight.
With that kind of thought in mind, I took my time advancing through that floor in order to fight as many enemies as possible. When Envy reached level five, I thought of slowing down even more…
{The Sin of Envy received fifty experience points.}
{The Sin of Envy leveled up. Magic has increased by two points.}
{The Sin of Envy reached level live. You have learned the skill Envious Flame.}
{Envious Flame: This spell channels the caster's Envy into a seething fireball that seeks out its target with intense Envy. The flames burn with a greenish hue, symbolizing the Envy that fuels its destructive power. Upon impact, the fireball not only inflicts damage equal to your magic multiplied by the level of the skill but also leaves behind lingering flames that symbolize the lingering resentment of the caster, causing the same amount of initial damage over a period of ten seconds. Cost: 10 mana}
"Too simple… I give it a D for disappointment."
"I can tell your power is returning to you… it seems that they were sealed for some reason. What did you obtain?"
I didn't want to explain what I could do when I was planning to run away as soon as I could, but perhaps I had to in order to make everyone relax around me and give me the chance to do so eventually.
"That is truly the first spell that you learned… unlike most that can use this from the beginning, your power was pathetic, but it grew over time and became a decent weapon."
"Hmm, is that so…"
I was itching to use that spell, so as soon as I found the first goblin shaman, I fired it without a care. The monster was caught off guard since I attacked first, but soon it shot a fireball as well… both spells collided, but mine won and then reached the face of the beast… it lost some power, though, so the goblin shaman didn't die immediately. Instead, it began to agonize thanks to the passive effect of the spell.
"It seems that I can level up the skills with use, but my mana isn't recovering that fast… I guess the rate must be the same as my health, one per minute. Where can I find mana potions? Since I am a general, I can get them for free, right?"
"How shameless can you be? Even though we are monsters, we still have some decency… your pride is truly at a low level. Anyway, you were a general. Now, you are basically Her Majesty's slave."
Not for long…
