When the three pigs finished and left, Nancy couldn't get up anymore. I was still on the ground, feeling dizzy.
Nancy was dragging herself on the floor and coming towards me. Her shirt was completely torn and only her red bra had remained.
"Are you ok…Ella?" asked Nancy difficulty.
"My…my head,"
She lifted me off the ground: "Don't worry. I won't let you get hurt,"
"What…what did they do to you?" I asked.
"Nothing! Nothing my dear. Don't think about it, ok?" Nancy said sadly.
When I got better, Nancy gave me some money and told me to go to the front street and buy her a shirt.
I did and she barely put the shirt on. Her face was red from many slaps and her knees and elbows were bruised.
On the way back, Nancy's behaviors had changed. As if she was afraid of everyone. Every man who passed by her scared her.
"Ella, can you do something for me?" Nancy asked.
"Anything,"
"Please don't tell mom and dad what happened tonight, ok?" Nancy said sadly.
"Why?! They beat you. If dad finds out..,'
"Please!" Nancy said, "Do this for me,"
"Alright," I said after a short pause, "Are you sure you're ok?"
Nancy answer with a fake smile:
"Of course I'm fine, you little one. Look at you, since when did you grow up so much?!"
Our home was in Miami, New York. In one of the most expensive places. Paul Adling, my father, was a highly skilled neurosurgeon. I didn't see him much. He spends most of his time in the hospital, but also, he tried not to forget his family.
My mother, Margaret Adling, had two PHD in genetics and chemistry. She was an elite in a way. In fact, my whole family was elite.
My mom teaches at New York University and was also involved in many experiments and research.
Nancy opened the door with the key and went to her room without mom and dad noticing.
I also went to my room, took a shower, put on clean clothes and wanted to go to my sister's room. I heard her voice when I reached near to her door, Talking to Kevin.
"I'm not feeling well, Kevin. I don't know what to do!" Nancy was crying.
I didn't go inside, but I don't know why I listened to her words. maybe it was fate.
"Kevin, tonight…something happened tonight.
Something bad," said Nancy.
It was at this moment that my mom was about to go up the stairs. I knew if she saw my sister's crying, she would ask me everything and I couldn't hide anything from her.
That's why I quickly went to her and took her back to the first floor with an excuse.
My father was reading several scientific papers at the dining table. He was a thin and almost hairless man. I think his hair fell out from studying too much.
I had to ask my mom a math question and pretend to don't know the answer to pass the time.
Twenty minutes passed and when I was sure that she wouldn't come upstairs, I went upstairs. Nancy was still talking on the phone.
"Finish it?! What you mean? We have no problem with each other," Nancy said to Kevin.
She didn't speak for a few seconds. Kevin was speaking.
"It wasn't my fault," Nancy said, "They raped me. I'm not a whore!"
Silence again. I put my ear to the door and listened.
"Kevin, I don't know what to do if you leave! Please. I need you, I don't feel good. Hello…he…hello…"
Kevin hung up. Apparently, he didn't like dating a non-virgin girl. Such a fool!
I waited five minutes then opened the door. Nancy was hiding under the blanket and had also turned off the lamps.
"Ella, is that you?" Nancy asked.
"Yes"
Nancy pushed the blanket aside and told me to turn on the lamp. I sat next to her and asked how she was.
"You are the only one who really loves me, Ella." Nancy said, "I hope at least you have a happy life,"
After talking for a while, I went back to my room. My sister spoke strangely. Kept talking about wishing me happiness.
The next morning, as soon as I wake up, I decided to go to her. I opened the door of her room and saw something that took my breath away.
Nancy had hung herself. A white cloth was around her neck and the cloth was tied to the ceiling. There was a small chair by her feet and her eyes were still open. Open and red. Her hands were on the cloth. She probably wanted to save herself in the last moment but couldn't.
I don't know what my poor sister was suffering at that moment, but I know it was the fault of those three men, and Kevin of Course. I will never forgive them.
