He quivered in the isolated room and slowly pressed himself into a greasy metallic wall. Although the wall made Levi slip and slide, coupled with its unappealing and repulsive look, he still clung firmly to it.
Soon, he heard howls. How's of fierce malicious beings? They produced screeching noises, which made Levi feel uncomfortable even more.
He proceeded to the caution tapes, which were the only things separating him from the demons - except the intense darkness.
"Okay, quick assessment," he said, touching and yanking at the tapes.
"I have two abilities, and no means of checking my status. I don't know my HP, strength, abyssal mana, nothing."
"By the way, why's it called abyssal, doesn't that have to do with water?"
His thoughts ended in a question, one he knew not the answer. Firmly, he set his gaze on the tightly wrapped caution tapes that extended from each end of the room's entrance.
The darkness drastically reduced his chances of even escaping the room by finding out how to unwrap the caution tapes.
He remembered that the entrance that he manufactured was quite small, and only possible due to the elastic property of the tape.
This left one cause for the disappearance of his makeshift entrance.
The tapes must have reverted to their original shape, and the darkness failed to permit effective sight in the room, and the entire building.
He quickly ripped the tapes apart and forced his body out of the room. Amid the intense frightening noises from the demons, he maneuvered his way back to the entrance and assessed the situation.
He stared around the walls and edges of the entire area, attempting to locate his prey but a message suddenly appeared before his eyes, interrupting his hunt.
[!!Demon(s) Sighted!!
Count: 59
Tier: Tier-1]
"At least the demon count is lower, but the message was delayed. What happened?"
He stretched both his arms and leaned away from the room in a bid to gather momentum.
As medical personnel in training, he has learned the skill of conserving energy by equally distributing his entire mass at different parts of his body.
Being a medic was his dream, and amidst that was his passion to create a revolutionary discovery as other major professionals in that field had done.
Quickly he froze in a position while genuflecting as though he was on a track, getting ready for a race.
"Okay, do I still remember how to do this? First my hands, then legs, torso..." he thought.
Immediately he felt a strange feeling, although he was quite conversant with it. It was a feeling that he had gotten the procedure.
It was the normal feeling, implanted in his heart and signaled signaled to him that his procedures were accurate, so, he smiled with great happiness.
"I got it!" he said excitedly.
He applied pressure on his legs and thrust towards the demons. Their dark skin that had peeled off edges shook due to the wind caused by Levi's speed.
Their red eyes contracted as Levi steadily approached them. With a steady gait, he made a swift approach and attacked the demons.
His silk touch was activated, increasing his efficiency and strength, as well as reducing effort.
Although he could not view his body's stats, he could feel the changes occurring in his body. His confidence slowly returned, as the body count of the demons increased.
"10 down!" He exclaimed, reaching out for a wall.
Amid the dangerous, yet enjoyable battle, Levi lost control, composure, and balance. He stretched his arms and eagerly hugged the wall.
He shifted his gaze back to the demons who continuously groaned and scrutinized him, although he cared not of their actions.
Already clinging to the wall, he fell to the ground and crawled to a corner of the room. He looked up and saw the bulbs above.
They shook continuously, and the ceiling fans began rotating. Particles of construction materials descended, as the building seemed to crumble.
"What's going on?" He asked.
The door behind him quickly shut and opened repeatedly. As he stared at the crumbling walls, he dashed towards the demons.
"Flash strike!" He screamed, slicing the heads of the demons with his bare hands.
As usual, they erupted into a lump of sticky, repulsive substances. Although Levi was immensely irritated by the repellent substance, he quickly eradicated the demons for one cause.
A cause that would mean certain death if he hadn't handled it immediately.
As time passed, parts of the building began falling apart, and the room was immediately filled with disgusting fluids.
Accompanying their repulsive appearance, was an odd stench enough to nauseate any inhabitant but Levi patiently bore the disadvantages.
Immediately he saw that all demons had been exterminated, he picked up speed and ran out of the building. He didn't stop at the neighboring buildings, rather he ran as far as he could before collapsing on the floor.
As his legs weakened and gradually failed him, his body descended and made contact with the ground. The immense amount of stress had summed up to be a threatening challenge to his mind.
His body stuck to the neat tarred streets along the road, and looked at the building from afar, eagerly awaiting an eye-catching scene.
From the distant position that he lay, he managed to see the whole building from its roof to its foundation as different parts fell individually.
Finally, the roofing sheets all descended, leaving the building bare and exposed.
Levi turned away, disappointed as he expected a cinematic occurrence. As he slowly crawled, he heard a large crack from the direction of the building.
Looking at the area, he saw a cradled door handle engulfed in flames. The bricks and sheets of the building flew into the air like a festival of fireworks.
The red sky shone in bright red and yellow, designed in destroyed asymmetrical objects of flames.
He marveled at the sight, smiling and recollecting his decision, thinking of the outcome if he had not made the decision.
