"I almost died in the chaotic collapse of that structure," he spoke, slowly standing and dusting off his dirtied clothes.
The structure had exploded because its 5-hour deadline had started long ago - since he was teleported back to the world.
It was the vibration walls that helped him realize his predicament and respond speedily.
"This means I'll have to kill fast to prevent other buildings from collapsing unduly."
Lastly, demons killed by external forces were not registered as part of the killed demons. Only those who died by Levi's hands would be counted.
"Only if I could check my stats," he thought, gently stroking his chin as he walked slowly down the road.
He was feeling tired, so much so that he nearly fainted whilst walking to his destination. He fell occasionally and began hallucinating.
His knees felt weak, and his body too. The sudden surge of weakness spread across his body and he felt the strain on his muscles.
"It'll be 5 minutes, and I'll continue my hunt," he said as he laid his head on the concrete road.
***
Bang!!
He felt an abrupt force on his head, and he slowly opened his eyes afterward. He could hear the sounds of exploding items and crumbling concrete.
The sounds frightened him but he, unfortunately, couldn't witness the event unfold. A large lump of mass was imposing itself on him, and he was unable to ascertain its identity although, the texture of the item revealed its identity.
It felt hard, surrounded by extruding edges, and sharp points. Overall, grains of sand-like matter flowed onto Levi's head and to the ground.
"Is this a rock," he inferred.
He slowly tilted his head, but was immediately fazed by the crushing mass of the material. He felt his head being forced into the hard ground.
As Levi struggled, an external chain of explosions had begun. His predicament was worsened by the probability of being attacked by another entity.
After continuous desperate trials, he forcefully ejected the large rock from the surface of his head. He quickly sprung up and cleaned his clothes.
His head fell heavy, and as though it was bashed or broken. He turned to his side, seeing the large mass of rock beside him. He sighted a crack on its surface, running around the rock, and he began to question his strength.
"Did my abilities give me such strength?" he asked himself, as he was fazed by the disaster that was occurring before him.
He looked around and was met with radical explosions at every corner. It was at the moment of seeing the streets being reduced to pieces, that a thought struck him.
"How long did I sleep?!" he exclaimed, running towards the first building he met when he entered the world - the college house.
"The buildings have reached their deadline. I hope the college house remains standing. I believe the remaining demons reside there," he thought, with his feet steadily knocking on the ground.
As he ran through the long street he witnessed the discouraging explosion of the buildings. The scenario resembled an apocalyptic stage where meteors crashed onto Earth.
Occasionally, large blocks would land at his location, but he would swiftly dodge. After every heavy descent of the blocks, the road would be cratered and later disintegrated by explosions.
He finally arrived at the college house. Its appearance was unchanged, and it hadn't experienced the exhausted state other facilities had experienced.
He rushed into the building, already feeling belittled by its immense size. As he dashed through the open entrance, rocks from the melted roof, fell on the floor, sealing the entrance.
As a large block fell, he was immediately intrigued, and he turned towards the entrance to find himself sealed in the building.
After seeing this, he did nothing but run off to the elevator at the floor's center. The lights still flickered continuously, but Levi wasn't the least bit fazed by the ghost-quiet atmosphere.
The elevator opened roughly, scraping the floor with its metallic base. He forced the door to slide faster across the floor and forced his body into the small enclosure of the elevator.
With a click of a button, the elevator began vibrating, and he rested within its confinement as it ascended to a story above the ground floor.
"I'll check this floor again just in case there's still a demon lurking somewhere," he said, resting in the thin walls of the elevator.
The slow, steady, and fluid movement of the elevator soothed him, eradicating his haste. He placed his hands on his head, contemplating his strategy to escape the pandemonium he found himself in.
As he grew deeper in his thoughts, the elevator produced a sharp sound of a bell being struck. He sprung up from his settled position, startled by the sharp sound he heard.
"Oh, I've arrived."
This time, the door slid smoothly, paving a clear path for Levi's exit. With speed, he walked into the room and carefully searched its entirety.
He saw nothing, but little traces of greenish sticky substances, and displaced items.
"Luckily, there's no demon here," he stated in relief.
He turned quickly to the elevator, dashing at full speed into it. He landed within it, closed the doors, and set his destination to the floor above.
"Next, I hope I'll survive my next fight."
The elevator quivered for a while, before commencing its fluid vibration. Levi walked to the side walls of the elevator and clung to it.
A few moments later, the doors of the elevator slid open, but not fully. Levi smiled silently as the little piece of the door shielded him from being sighted.
"It worked!" he whispered.
The room was awfully quiet, and dark. He pushed his head slightly away from his corner and observed the room. The darkness was a burden, making all attempts of sight impossible.
A sound, as sharp as lightning, and as unbearable as a dish and fork colliding echoed.
"Oh! What's that?!"
He abruptly stepped back, slightly hitting his back on the wall. He turned backward, touching and massaging his back.
He then heard a sudden click on the elevator's base. He was surprised to see the monstrosity that stood before him.
A broad entity, red-eyed, with an enunciated back. Its wings were larger than the other demons Levi saw.
