Avery looked through the corner of his eyes and saw Mosey vibrating with anger, caused by what was being done to Centshuu's jacket,
He realized that the burly man was doing his best to refrain from doing something that would cause a fight to break out as it would be a bad look on Centshuu who would be forced to take responsibility.
Avery also felt the same way which is why he hadn't tried to do anything to defend himself since Vic became physical.
He groaned then returned his focus to Kenser.
"Listen, you don't have to tell me the truth if you don't want and I'm not going to pester you about it anymore. I just want you to go away from here and let me handle this. I don't want you getting dragged into this mess in case things get out of—" Avery said but Vox interrupted his sentence.
/"Seems you two are having a secret chat while I was telling my friends what this rude dog did to my very expensive boots. Now that I think about it, what nonsense was he saying in whatever backwater language you two were speaking? He was bragging about what he did to me wasn't he?!"\ Vox said and Kenser jolted.
/"No, he wasn't! No bragging statements were made—"\ she said but was cut off.
/"Bitch, would you shut the fuck up! Do you think we don't know an insult when we hear one?! I'm sure that if we dissect that entire monkey dialogue you two just had we'll be able to find an insult or two sprinkled somewhere. Stupid bitch thinks she's smart"\ said Mikie, the first guy to have spoken in the group when they first appeared.
/"What? No, no, no. Please, believe me when I say that nobody at this bar has insulted any of you guys. My friend just wanted me to help him apologize to Vox and, umm, the rest of you four because he doesn't hear or speak Hephsi"\ Kenser said, smiling as pleasantly as she could to Mikie.
/"Is that so?"\ Mikie asked and she nodded.
/"Yes, that's the truth. I have no reason to lie to any of you. If you want, I can teach him what to say and after it's all done, I can pour each of you a cup of our most expensive beer, on the—"\ Kenser said but the member of the group who hadn't said anything since, Fez, interrupted.
/"If what you're saying is true then why does the bastard have that look on his face?"\ Fez asked.
Kenser grimaced in confusion.
/"Look? What look at you talking about?"\ She asked then turned to look at Avery and saw the menacing look he was giving Mikie.
/"Avery?"\ Kenser voiced tiredly.
"I know he doesn't understand what I'm saying right now so please do me a favor, Kenser. Tell this busybody to mind his damn business and never raise his voice to you again! You can't tell me that nothing mean or rude was said at that time. Not with that tone of his, so don't even try" Avery said.
"You tell them, pug!" Mosey, who loved the grit that Avery showed, laughed which unintentionally drew Vox and his friends' attention to him and then subsequently, to Kove.
"Avery, are you out of your mind? You know I can't say that, 'cause if I do, these guys are going to beat you and leave you for dead. Yes, there's a no fighting policy in here but nothing stops them from taking you outside and rough handling you, so just be quiet and let me handle this 'cause I'm the only one who can" Kenser advised in a whisper but saw that Avery didn't care for it.
Regardless, She still wanted to help him, so she turned to Fez.
/"Don't mind his expression. He had something to drink earlier so it might be kicking in now. Also, Vox has his collar so tight around his neck and the slight suffocation might be the result of—"\ she said but Vox cut her off.
He repositioned his body, pulling Avery along as he faced Mosey and Kove.
Unfortunately, because of how quickly he moved, Kenser, who held his arm was unintentionally pulled too.
With the puddle of alcohol on the floor and the sudden jerking motion, she slipped and fell to her knees.
Unfortunately, there were tiny broken pieces of glass where she landed and they cut her, letting the alcohol enter the wound and it stung like hell.
"Hey, fucker! What do you think you're doing being so rough—?!" Avery yelled but Vox who seemed to have changed targets to Mosey and Kove, two people he saw as actual adults, slapped him in the face to shut him up.
His ear rang and for a moment he had a flash of being hit in the face by something fast, hard, heavy, round, and red.
'What was that?' Avery thought, groaning because of the pain of the slap.
/"I don't give two fucks about what you were saying but something told me that it was mad disrespectful. In case you missed it, that was me telling you to shut the hell up in the language everyone in the world understands, violence. Hope you heard it loud and clear"\ Vox said then he walked toward Mosey and Kove.
His friends followed behind, showing that they had his back.
