Kenser paused what she was doing, grimaced, and then said "Come on, Avery. You're too cute to be acting dumb and clueless with me. I know you know what I'm talking about and I have to say that it looks stylish. Given, I didn't expect a guy to do something as stylish as that, but, after I saw it I could only think of how much it fits your look"
Avery's confused expression deepened.
"Again, I don't know what you're talking about. Do I really have something on my forehead?" Avery asked and then curiously took his fingertips to his forehead, trying to feel whatever Kenser was talking about.
"I think I would know if I had something on my— huh, what's this?" Avery said but then changed his tone when he felt something on the center of his forehead.
He went from feeling skin to feeling something of a very smooth and hard texture, protruding from his forehead skin.
He felt some more, going around whatever the "thing" on his forehead was and it wasn't that big. Less than an inch long and a half an inch wide
"Hey, give me something reflective," Avery said hurriedly, stretching out his other hand.
Kenser grimaced "Why?"
"Just hurry, please. I want to know what this thing is," Avery said Impatiently.
Kenser groaned and then shrugged.
"Okay," she said then handed Avery a bottle which he swiftly took from her, raised to his face, and then parted his hair so he could properly see what they used to conceal.
Watching from the side and sneering at Avery with disgust, Shieve burped and then mumbled "That fucking gemstone. What the hell is it doing there anyway? I only touched it a little and it sting me"
"What are you talking about, Shieve?" Kove who heard the tipsy man's mumbling but couldn't decipher what it was about, asked.
Shieve flicked his eyes to his very observant companion then smacked his tongue and said, "Nothing. You guys already don't believe me so don't ask me any fucking questions. Just mind your business and I'll mine"
Shieve flicked his eyes back to Avery who was staring at his reflection in the glass bottle and then twitched his nose disapprovingly.
Meanwhile, after seeing what was on his forehead, Avery asked "This is a gemstone, o-on my-my forehead. How?"
Seeing Avery's panicked demeanor, Kenser raised a brow.
"Avery, what's the problem? You look like this is the first time you've seen what's on your forehead, but that doesn't make sense, right?" she said as she leaned closer, held his hand which held the bottle as a mirror, and tried pushing it gently.
She tried to remove the bottle from blocking her view of Avery's face and the gemstone.
Avery looked at her, speechless then he flicked his eyes back to his reflection on the bottle.
'The bar doesn't have good lighting. I should face another direction and use the light to get a better view. That's right, behind me where those guests were seated had better lighting so let me—' Avery thought then turned around in his chair but then…
By accident, while turning, Avery crashed into someone who was approaching the bar from his right side.
The impact caused the bottle to be knocked out of his hand, fell on the floor, and shattered at the feet of the person he crashed into.
Kenser gasped while Mosey and Kove hurriedly looked in Avery's direction, matching Shieve who had been staring at Avery for the past minute.
The two men had wanted to give Avery his time in the spotlight with the beautiful and seductive bartender, but they couldn't anymore because of what just happened.
The sound of the bottle shattering on the floor was so loud, overshadowing the music performance on stage, that everyone in the main hall had their attention drawn in Avery's direction too.
'Fuck!' Avery thought as he looked down at what he had done.
Ashamed of his mistake, Avery ignored his original concern about what was on his forehead. He didn't even have the choice of not setting that concern to the side because the bottle he was using to check the gemstone had now become multiple pieces of broken glass, with the nectar it used to contain spilled all over the floor around the man he bumped into.
Avery had no choice but to apologize to the man he had just wronged.
He clasped his palms and lowered his head in respect to the victim who looked considerably older than he was.
He said "I'm sorry, sir. I promise it was a mistake on my part for not looking where I was going. Please allow me to clean up the mess—"
Before Avery could finish, the victim grabbed Centshuu's jacket he had on, pulled him closer, and stared at him with rage-filled eyes.
/"How dare you do this to me you stupid prick?!"\ The victim yelled.
Avery, who didn't expect to be grabbed like he was, eyes fidgeted.
"Huh?" Avery said in confusion.
/"How the hell are you going to pay for this?!"\
Avery's eyes widened and he thought 'Wait. What this guy just said to me wasn't in Scrimis. I have no idea what he just said… Fuck!'
