There was no way I heard Rae correctly. She's been practically gone since I woke up and while I knew she was coming back to me, wherever she had retreated to seemed far away.
Even though the word had been said in my head only, Eren had turned to look at me with something I didn't quite understand.
Had he heard Rae?
Had she linked with him or his wolf Dane?
Regardless, there was no way I could reach her right now, she seemed to have completely retreated to the back of my mind where she slept, and there was also no way that I was about to ask him about it either.
There was a sharp increase in my breathing and I felt my heart pounding much harder than it had when he reached out and touched me.
Could Rae have meant that I had found my mate or that she had found hers. I wasn't sure, but what I did know is that I had absolutely no clue what I was supposed to do with that word.
