As much as I was confused by his words, I still just stood here. Seeing him struggling like this filled me with so much sorrow at knowing that he was now stuck with me for like, forever now.
The tears were filling my eyes and I couldn't stop them or the words that fell from my mouth, "Why would the Gods make me your mate when you hate me so much? Are they punishing you?"
Even with the tears in my eyes, I watched Eren's expression change from fear to confusion and there was a soft pang I felt inside of my chest, but it didn't hurt, just ached a bit.
