My heart was pounding and the ache in my chest was so intense that for a moment I could hardly breathe, much less speak. Unable to look at Dylan I had to turn away from her so that she couldn't read the distress there.
I had just kissed her cheek and the spark that I felt was more intense than any of the other times our skin has touched and I wasn't sure that I was going to keep from doing so again.
"What was that," she had asked with so much shock in her voice that I couldn't help but smile at her. Still worried that she might push me away, I answered, "I couldn't let you cry for no reason."
Gods, this was torture. Knowing that she was in so much distress because she was projecting her feelings onto me I was hardly able to contain my own emotions so I was not prepared to for when she pushed herself up against my chest.
