The warm eyes of their maid smiled at the girls who were very young when she first came to work for Teresa's parent. And now they were all but grown up women who no matter how often acted like teenagers, grew up to be very kind, soft hearted yet strong independent women.
"I'm so sorry, Anna. Please leave it here. We can take care of it ourselves." Teresa apologized for adding to their already busy mornings as she offered to help them out like always.
"Yeah we will, Ann. Don't worry about it." Sia waved her hand casually.
"Nice of you two to offer. But didn't you guys have to be somewhere this morning? Sia texted me last night to prepare a breakfast to go for both of you."
Anna's words brought the realization to both of their faces as they finally remembered what was this heavy feeling on their chests as they woke up from an otherwise peacefully deep sleep.
Teresa's eyes widened as she looked in Sia's which reflected the same look back.
The carnival.
The gypsy.
The foreboding future telling.
"The catching of the culprit gypsy!" again a loud phrase was spoken in unison around the room.
"You go get ready I'll deal with the cleaning and meet you down in five." Sia all but ran towards the vacuum as she ordered Teresa go about her business as well.
They were late as it is. They didn't wanna miss any and every chance to find out some information about the gypsy if she has already left the town.
If she had already left, they will need to find her because that was the only thing they could think of doing right now after yesterday. The only way to help Teresa in case the gypsy was right.
"NO!" the loud interjection halted the girl from scramming around like headless chickens.
"You Both get ready and I'll deal with the rest out here! I'm not listening any arguments right now, so move along!" Ordered Anna who although was a mere maid around the house but was close enough to the girls to have an authoritative ability to sometimes even lecture them about things their mothers would have, were they still alive.
Quietly they agreed knowing it was already too late and they couldn't afford a lot of leisure today.
In ten minutes Teresa and Sia were out of the manor and in the car, moving towards the destination with hope of finding some answers.
Soon they arrived where the did yesterday. But todays view was entirely different from back then. Today the air was heavy with anticipation rather then charged with excitement.
Today the colors around them no matter how few left, seemed more dull then vibrant like yesterday.
Where stood many contraptions and booths of all kinds, now was only a few left to see bare with their flaws out in the open uncovered by the colorful streamers and drapes.
Many still haggled around collecting what was left of the fair as they prepared to move out like the rest of them who had clearly left way before as many places were left hollowed out.
All the while, quietly in their hearts, both Teresa and Sia prayed as they walked further in, to see that giant worn out yurt from yesterday to still be there today.
Unfortunate for them, when the destination finally arrived it looked nothing like before as it was also left empty and hollow for something other than the yurt to occupy the space in it's place, like for many other places around them.
This wrenched Teresa's heart as she was left unmoving from her spot, grabbing her chest in worry. What is she going to do now?
