Chereads / Ian & Gianna / Chapter 16 - 16

Chapter 16 - 16

She wouldn't be of any use to Queen Mazarine if she wasn't a witch, would she?

She was thinking of her when she barged into her room and just then someone materialized behind Gianna. She could feel cold air blowing her hair to her nape. She turned around.

Gael?

Had he been there all through while she was bathing and changing? Had he seen her naked? Her surprised look probably exposed her thoughts.

"Yes I did. You're very beautiful by the way." He licked his lips and was about to add something when the sound of a hard slap echoed through the room.

Gael was surprised, not because he felt any pain but because of her audacity. How dare she slap him?

"I will cut your manhood and feed it to the birds next time you sneak on me." Gianna threatened.

"I'll keep that in mind My Lady."He said rubbing the cheek she had just slapped feigning pain .

This man really annoyed her. Did he think he was funny?

She turned to Queen Mazarine who seemed unfazed by what had just happened.

"What do you want this time?" Gianna asked ignoring Gael whom she had noticed now had normal hazel eyes. Could he change his eye colors? Either way she found him scary.

The Queen ignored her. She turned to Gael instead.

"Do the necessary."

Gianna had hardly blinked when she realized Gael had already cuffed her hands and chained her legs.

"What's the meaning of this Your Majesty?" She was confused and scared.

"I think I have been too lenient with you Miss Gianna. My sister..."

"Don't you dare Queen Mazarine." She warned before she could finish. If she really valued family she wouldn't treat her so.

"Oh, I see your father has already told you about your mother's roots. He spoiled the fun part ." She clicked her tongue.

Fun part? Nothing was fun with her.

"I know my mother wasn't your blood sister."

"She wasn't. She was just like you. And you like her." Queen Mazarine seemed hurt remembering her sister.

Her grandmother had also told her that she took after her mother.

"She was just as stubborn as you are. And you what happened to her? I'll save that for last. For now let's get to work."

What had happened to her mother? The few days she had been in Queen Mazarine's custody seemed like months. Mazarine made her feet wobbly.

Gael teleported them just outside Princess Fiona's chambers. Queen Mazarine gave Gianna a push inside and she landed flat on her stomach as she found it hard to balance her body with the weight of the iron chains.

"She isn't to leave this room until she does what's required of her." Queen Mazarine ordered and closed the door on her way out.

Princess Fiona sat on her bed. She didn't look as alluring as Gianna hoped a princess would be. Her dark hair was uncombed and she was wearing a black dress that seemed too large for her body frame.

"Get out of my room Gael and send her back home." The princess didn't bother to look at Gianna twice or at least ask about her welfare now that she was an earl's wife and was being highly disrespected.

Gael didn't move an inch.

"Don't make me repeat myself." She said standing up.

"You know I follow your mother's orders first Fiona. Now, be a good girl and let this witch help you."

Gianna had noticed that Gael got to address Queen Mazarine and now even Princess Fiona by their names. She could tell from that that he wasn't an just a servant. He must be a witch or...what else could he be? But if he were a witch Queen Mazarine wouldn't need her. Gianna didn't know any other supernatural beings. He could be maybe an angel but she knew angels weren't evil but good.

"I don't need your help." She blurted and tried to get away but Gael stopped her with a wave of his hand and she froze in her tracks. What had he just done?

"Don't force my hand Fiona, I would hate to hurt you." He warned.

"Likewise Gael." The princess was surely a stubborn one.

Gael chuckled.

"I see you can be funny when you want to be."

"What would happen if am not able to...to cure her?" Gianna wanted to know her fate. She was sure she would fail as the curing involved magic and she knew nothing to do magic.

"Do you really need an answer to that question Miss Gianna? But if you must know of course we'll get rid of you."

Her heart sank. Why was everything so wrong?

Her life had changed in a few weeks and it had turned into a living hell. Maybe she should have never agreed to go back home with Denzel. That way she would never have married Kyler and Queen Mazarine would never have found her. Perhaps she would have exchanged her golden bangles for some gold coins and started a small apothecary.

But that was if only she hadn't made the choices she had made. Now it was too late and she had to face whatever came her way. But first she would try working with her new plan.

"I will cure her." She said.

"Good. I knew you were a witch the moment I saw you."

"But I need a few things for it to work."

"What now? Haven't you mastered all spells yet?" Gael asked in a gruffy voice.

"No I haven't. Bring me a spell book and..." She hesitated. She wanted to ask for something impossible to find. She didn't know when Fiona's husband had died but she knew finding his hair would be impossible as in Ailtonian traditions a body was always cremated before burial.A widow who had abandoned her husband's grave and went back to her old home wasn't expected back as well as any of her family or friends.

"And what you wench?" Gael interrupted her thoughts.

"I need a spell book and a few strands of her husband's hair."

If they couldn't provide her with the necessary materials for her 'magic' to work they would certainly let her go. She was sure of that.

"Her husband's hair?" Gael raised a brow. How on earth were they supposed to find that?
