Gianna was shocked. Queen Mazarine had now gone too far. How could she involve her family in this ?
Gianna watched as Queen Mazarine dragged Denzel on the floor. This woman was really strong. Denzel's head was bleeding and he could barely look up at her.
"How could you do this to him?" Gianna asked furiously banging the metal bars although she knew it was useless. She couldn't break the metallic door.
"Now, will you do it?" Queen Mazarine asked ignoring her question while holding Denzel at knifepoint.
No, she wouldn't dare! Her heart raced in her chest and she could barely stand straight and held onto the metal bars. Denzel was already hurt. Could this woman be more cruel?
"You must release him first Queen Mazarine." Gianna blurted dropping the necessary formalities. Her heart was now beating fast and furious. She couldn't be the reason her brother died. She would never forgive herself if he died because of her. Queen Mazarine had probably sent her men to capture him. Her brother was adventurous, enjoying going to new places and rarely stayed at home. She was sure it hadn't been hard for them to find him.
"For the last time Gianna, I don't take orders from you, I do as I please. It's time you know your place. Now get to work" She said throwing a large bag into the cell. A spell book fell out of it. Gianna didn't want to look inside the bag. She knew the skull would be in there.
"I... I...I really can't." She admitted.
"Do you love your brother so little?"
"I can't because I am no witch."
"She's telling the truth Your Majesty. Please release us. My sister is no witch." Denzel spoke for the first time.
Gianna was glad. At least he could still talk although in a weak feeble voice. It was surprising to see him being polite with his request. Her brother didn't know how to ask for something but would rather just take it.
Queen Mazarine seemed to be contemplating on her next move. She locked him up with Gianna before leaving.

"She is so naive and unknowing." Queen Mazarine complained.
"If she knew the spell she wouldn't have risked her brother's life. She's useless." Noel was disappointed as he dropped the disguise.
"We'll execute Gael's plan, the girl is useless to me now.Tell him to have fun." She ordered.
"I am sure he will Your Majesty." Noel smiled wickedly before vanishing into thin air. He knew that was what Gael had been wishing to hear.
Noel teleported himself to his brother's house. Only a few candles were lit . He entered Gael's bedroom but he was nowhere to be seen.
However he could hear Gael calling him telepathically. He found him in the most unlikely place.
He was in the library.
"And now you're a reader." Noel smirked.
"I couldn't sleep." Gael said without taking his eyes off the book in his left hand and took a sip from his wine glass.
"Is it because of that witch?"
Gael didn't reply.
His silence only confirmed Noel's suspicions.
"It can't be so." Noel said thoughtfully. Gael couldn't see a mate in a... witch.
"I know...but there's a part of me that deeply craves her. Even if Mazarine asks me to get rid of her I'll have to go against her orders for the first time."
"Except that you won't have to."
"How so?" Now Gael was intrigued.
"Mazarine asked me to let you know that you can have fun with her. She has ceased to be useful to her."
No way!
It couldn't be. Mazarine couldn't let go of her so easily, he had known her to be persistent. The excitement was too much that he accidentally shattered the glass of wine i his right hand.
"I think it wasn't a good idea to tell you so soon." Noel clicked his tongue before he vanished to go finish what they had started.
