"Her husband's hair?" Gael raised a brow.
How on earth were they supposed to find it?
Gael was confused.
However to start with he brought her the spell book she had requested for and went to find Queen Mazarine but not before warning her not to attempt anything stupid.Mazarine needed to hear this more than anyone else. How would they proceed now?
"The witch says she needs Maxton's hair for the necromancy spell to work."
Queen Mazarine rose from her golden throne.
"Is that girl still playing games. Where can we get that Gael?"
"Am as just clueless as you are Mazarine."
"You wait here." She said and turned to leave but she suddenly looked back as if she had forgotten something.
"Should I teleport you somewhere?" Gael asked knowingly. Mazarine couldn't teleport herself.
"To Fiona's room. You know I hate using the stairs." She gave him a small smile.
She rarely smiled since she lost her mate. Her beautiful mazarine blue eyes had turned cold. And so had her children turned -cold albeit for different reasons.

"If you know anything Fiona, please tell me. "
"I don't know anything. Why don't you ask the witch to go to the afterlife and get you his hair?"
Queen Mazarine frowned. Didn't she understand she was going to this lengths for her? Holding the an earl's wife captive. She had even gone as far as altering the gatekeeper's records. Yet all she got back from the daughter she was willing to do anything and everything for was negative energy. And now she was throwing her out of her room. Mazarine knew better than to argue with Fiona as she could do something unthinkable if her commands were disobeyed.
Mazarine observed the facial features of her daughter. It seemed that she hadn't slept well last night and many other nights before. Her blue eyes were worn out.
A lump formed in her throat as Fiona slammed the door shut behind her.
Having failed to get anything useful from Fiona Queen Mazarine proceeded to meet Gianna. She hoped that Maxton's clothes would work in place of his hair which seemed impossible to find. But Gianna gave her an outright no, only his hair would make the spell work.
Left with no other options, Mazarine headed back to Fiona's chambers. She would go to any lengths necessary. Even if she had to employ the use of her reserved crocodile tears. She hoped Fiona would agree to go with Gael to Maxton's room and steal the remains of his hair if there were any on his combs; that's if they hadn't been destroyed yet.
Queen Mazarine had just given up when Fiona called out.
"Wait, I know something that might help but you must release Gianna after she tries casting the spell, whether it works or not."
Her daughter seemed to still be merciful despite the change in personality.
"I will do as you've asked. If Gianna fails I will send her back home with adequate compensation."
"In the region of Trevinia, if one commits suicide, he isn't given the last respect of cremation. He's instead buried whole."
That came as a shock to her. She hadn't attended Lord Maxton's funeral, she hadn't been invited anyway as she had only learnt of Maxton's death some days after his burial. Her daughter had refused to share anything concerning his death. However his family had revealed to the mourners in attendance that he had fell from a horse. But Queen Mazarine knew Fiona was somehow involved in his death. But now that Fiona had confided in her she wouldn't confront her about being behind his death, at least not now. Her wellbeing was her priority now.
If he had been buried whole then that meant his hair could be found. But his family would never allow her to exhume their loved one's body for her own selfish reasons. But she had her own way to exhume his remains.
