Chapter 5 - This World is Truly Mad...

"Alright, sir, your route has been planned!"

Jarvis responded, displaying the navigation route on the vehicle's onboard control system.

Buzz—

Ray glanced at it, driving the armored vehicle out of the congested lane and onto the route Jarvis had planned for him.

It was only after leaving the crowded streets and driving through the city that Ray clearly saw how chaotic the city had become!

Looking around, there were zombies wandering everywhere, feasting on the ground, and the frenzied survivors running about!

Cars overturned haphazardly crowded the roads, with many crashed into storefronts on both sides of the streets, as well as into gardens and guardrails!

Some people, driven to desperation with no way out, chose to jump from high buildings to commit suicide.

Others pushed their companions towards the zombies to buy time for their own escape.

And some had completely lost their minds, picking up guns from policemen, not shooting at zombies, but instead firing at other survivors, enacting unimaginably cruel slaughters.

Each act was something they wouldn't dare to do even with ten times the courage before the apocalypse!

Desperate cries, ferocious roars, burning flames, billowing smoke...

It was beyond what any apocalyptic movie could depict!

This was the true apocalypse!

"This world is really crazy..."

Seeing all this, Ray's face didn't show much change. He could sympathize, but that was it.

In the apocalypse, such things would only become more and more common. If he didn't learn to adapt now, he would soon become one of them.

Buzz—

The engine roared, and Ray pressed the accelerator deeper. Like a beast breaking into the city, the armored vehicle charged through, smashing all the vehicles blocking the road and quickly leaving the area.

Along the way, besides these ordinary people fleeing everywhere, there were also helicopters carrying the wealthy escaping, and many armed helicopters heading to various places for support.

As for fighter jets, there were some, but few. However, every appearance was accompanied by deafening explosions!

"Ding! Successful kill of a zombie using LV1 armored vehicle! Reward points +1!"

"Ding! Successful kill of a zombie using LV1 armored vehicle! Reward points +1!"

"Ding! Successful kill of a zombie using LV1 armored vehicle! Reward points +1!"

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for achieving the [Fifty Kills] achievement! Reward 10 free attribute points!"

At this moment, Ray, who was focused on driving, did not notice the system prompts scrolling through the reward log.

...

"By the way, Jarvis, how did you know earlier that the fuel in my tank wasn't enough to get to my destination?"

After leaving the city center and entering a street with relatively less congested traffic, Ray relaxed a bit and suddenly remembered a question, asking Jarvis.

"After you started the car earlier, the program immediately connected to the onboard equipment via the mobile network, and learned about the fuel status of the car."

Jarvis's voice sounded, but this time, it was not coming from the phone but from the car's speakers.

"I see." Ray understood.

"Sir, there is a traffic jam ahead. I suggest you turn right at the next intersection!"

Jarvis, who had been monitoring the road conditions in real-time, noticed that the originally planned route was now completely blocked by fleeing vehicles, and immediately changed the route, issuing a reminder.

"Okay, I got it!"

Ray glanced at the display on the onboard device and nodded.

After arriving at the next intersection, he turned the steering wheel and changed the route.

This situation happened several times on the road ahead, turning what should have been a less than half-hour drive to the gas station into nearly an hour before successfully arriving.

"Beep beep—"

Upon reaching the gas station, Ray didn't immediately drive in but instead honked the horn, pausing on the road for a moment.

This wasn't a death wish!

Rather, it was a precaution for his own safety!

Although there weren't many people around the gas station, the road in front of it was still congested with vehicles. Who knew how many zombies were nearby?

If he got out of the car and suddenly dozens of zombies appeared, that would be a real surprise.

"Hehe..."

"Roar..."

"Whimper... Whimper..."

After a dozen seconds!

More than sixty zombies were attracted by the armored vehicle's horn. These zombies, both male and female, were covered in torn clothes and blood, with fierce expressions, looking very terrifying.

"There should be more than this..."

Watching these zombies roaring and rushing towards the armored vehicle, Ray murmured and drove around the gas station while continuing to honk the horn.

After another two minutes, he attracted over sixty more zombies.

Then another minute!

"That should be all of them!"

Once he was sure no more zombies were coming, Ray turned the steering wheel.

Screech—

The tires rubbed against the ground, emitting white smoke. Ray stepped on the accelerator, directly charging into the zombies. Despite their numbers, they were no match for the armored vehicle, a beast that had already smashed through a dozen cars without slowing down.

Splatter, splatter, splatter—

A large amount of blood sprayed onto the ground as zombies were crushed into flesh and blood under the wheels.

Ten minutes later!

He crushed the last zombie into a pulp.

Screech!

Ray hit the brakes, drove the armored vehicle into the gas station, parked it, turned off the engine, and picked up the fuel nozzle from the ground.

"The fuel nozzle just thrown on the ground like this, it seems that when the zombie outbreak occurred, there weren't many vehicles at the gas station, and it looks like they all fled in a hurry."

Looking around, he found a gas station employee who had turned into a zombie and had just been crushed by him. Ray walked over and found an employee card in the pocket on his chest.

"Good thing, otherwise it would have been difficult to get the gasoline out!"

Ray chuckled, walked over to the car, inserted the employee card, and began refueling.

At this moment, Jarvis's voice suddenly came from inside the car, "Sir, actually, you don't need an employee card. The Jarvis program can also hack into the system, gain permissions, and carry out the refueling operation!"

"Why didn't you say so earlier?"

Ray rolled his eyes, ignoring Jarvis, and turned to take a large wrench out of the car's trunk, closed the car door, and looked towards the pitch-dark gas station convenience store.

"Time to look for food and water
