Chapter 10 - Turns out to be a Girl, and a Campus Belle at That...

"Jarvis, are there still only two mobile signals here?"

"Yes, sir!"

Just as expected!

Jarvis's response fully confirmed Ray's guess.

Jarvis's capability is indeed strong, able to easily lock onto any mobile phone's signal location, even those of older models. However, not all zombies have mobile phones.

They might have been lost, dropped, broken, or even run out of battery and powered off.

All these possibilities exist!

Thus, Jarvis naturally could not detect their presence.

And this also means that the zombies on the second floor might not be limited to seven, which Ray had almost really thought were the only zombies on the second floor.

"That was close..."

Ray let out a sigh of relief, not daring to relax in the slightest anymore.

After circling around to ensure there were no other zombies, he then turned back to where those three zombies were.

Seizing the opportunity, he easily took down the middle-aged zombie, who appeared to be over forty, gently laying it on the ground, then crouched and approached the other two.

These two were not far from each other, which was a bit troublesome.

But with the experience from dealing with the two zombies in the bathroom earlier, there were no surprises.

Hiding behind a container, as one of the zombies wandered close, Ray burst out in an instant, his right hand gripping a dagger swung decisively, plunging the dagger into the zombie's eye, causing its head to explode.

Pfft—

The other zombie, noticing the noise and just turning around, hadn't even had the chance to roar before Ray pulled the dagger out of the first zombie's eye and, swinging his arm in a full circle, plunged it directly into the temple of the second zombie.

Blood spurted out, head exploding once again.

"Phew!"

After dealing with the two zombies, Ray exhaled softly, slowly laying them down on the ground

After resting briefly for two minutes, Ray and Jarvis confirmed the positions of the remaining two zombies that could be detected by their signals and walked towards that area.

However, this time, he wouldn't proceed as openly as before. Even though there were no mobile signals around, he still moved cautiously, treading lightly and remaining vigilant as he approached.

Fortunately, until he saw those two zombies, he didn't encounter any other unexpected ones.

Hardware and sundries area!

The remaining two zombies were inside.

The trouble was, these two zombies seemed to be workers from a nearby construction site, dressed in work clothes and wearing yellow plastic safety helmets on their heads.

For safety, Ray did not rush to act but, as before, circled around the area a few times to ensure that only these two were present before preparing to move.

Because of the obstruction of the plastic safety helmets, Ray didn't dare to risk attacking the temples or eyes.

Finally, seizing the opportunity, he extended a foot to trip the zombie walking by him, causing it to fall to the ground, followed by a dagger thrust into the zombie's head from under the chin.

"Hehe... hehe..."

The other zombie followed closely. Ray pulled out the dagger, rushed over in a leap, and kicked it to the ground. Standing on it and using strength four times that of an ordinary person, he made it impossible for the zombie to resist. Then, squatting down, he removed the safety helmet from the zombie's head and, with a swing of his knife, plunged it into the struggling zombie's temple, successfully killing it.

"That wasn't easy..."

Wiping the sweat that had slightly seeped out on his forehead after being busy for so long, but now was not the time to relax. There might still be some missed on this floor; they must all be dealt with to avoid any major risks.

Then, he carefully searched the second floor again and ultimately found two missed zombies in the food area.

After ensuring their safety, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Collapsing to the ground, he didn't care about anything else and grabbed a piece of bread from the glass cabinet in the food area, starting to eat it.

"I must be the most miserable person to ever cross over, right? Since coming here, I've only managed to scrounge up a couple of bites to eat."

As Ray gnawed on the bread, he complained about his situation.

"It's time to look for that survivor!"

Saying this, he stood up, eating the bread with one hand and clutching a dagger in the other, always on alert.

"When searching the zombies earlier, I didn't see any sign of the survivor. They must be hiding somewhere, right?"

Thinking this, Ray called out to Jarvis and confirmed the survivor's location, then headed straight there.

"Huh? Isn't this the furniture store I first came across when I got to the second floor? The survivor is in this furniture store?"

When he arrived near the signal location of the survivor, he was surprised to see the furniture store selling beds and blankets that he had passed by when he first came to the second floor.

"It turns out, I passed by the survivor earlier. Luckily, they hid themselves, unaware of the situation outside; otherwise, my plan would have been ruined."

Ray silently admonished himself, resolving to understand the full situation before acting next time to avoid unexpected incidents.

Having pinpointed the survivor's exact location!

Ray gripped the dagger tightly, treading lightly, and approached slowly.

Finally, following Jarvis's reminder, he arrived in front of a wooden cabinet.

He tossed the remaining bit of bread aside, tightened his grip on the dagger, and after mentally preparing himself, lifted his left hand to suddenly open the cabinet. His right hand, clutching the dagger, was ready to strike.

However, upon clearly seeing the situation inside the cabinet, he relaxed and lowered the dagger in his hand.

Before him appeared a young girl, powerless as a bound chicken, who had fainted at some unknown time.

"I thought it was a burly man, but it turns out to be a girl, and not just any girl, but a campus belle at that..."

Although the young girl was curled up inside the cabinet, it was clear that she was quite tall, at least around 1.7 meters, and also had a very good figure, with a slim waist and impressive curves, the very embodiment of a goddess's physique.

She was dressed in a Gorilla brand blue lady's dress, which, due to some wrinkles, revealed her straight, long legs.

Her oval face was partially obscured by her waist-length hair, but it was still apparent that the girl's beauty was of a very high caliber, with a delicate nose, willow-leaf eyebrows, and small cherry lips...

Absolutely the kind of beauty that's considered goddess-level!
