After Dawn said the unthinkable, the group seemed to be taken back a good bit. The look of guilt never left Dusan's face, and the look of resentment never left Rhys'.
Dawn: "He wants to work with us in order to find evidence that would prove he was involved. I brought you all here so I could ask you to help us."
Margit: "I'm in. I don't really know this guy, but I want to get justice for your parents. They were like family to Rhys and I."
Warin: "I am in as well. Personal shit aside, Dusan didn't just out his father like that to play a prank or something."
Elias: "Dusan has done nothing but bully us though.."
Dusan: "I promise it really was nothing personal. I-"
Dawn: "You don't need to defend yourself right now. Once your father comes to justice we will figure out stuff with you. Thank you Margit, and Warin, for agreeing to help."
Both gave a nod. Rhys stood silent.
Elias: "I guess I will help. Although I didn't know you or your family too well back then, I would still like to take down an asshole like the Chief. Sorry Dusan."
Dusan: "No worries. I get it."
Dawn: "Thank you Elias." He then stepped over to Rhys. "Will you help, or no?"
Rhys: "I am only going to help because it is for you. Otherwise I wouldn't. I want to split into groups of two, and I will be going with dickhead."
Dawn: "That is fine with me. Dusan?"
Dusan: "Fine with me as well. Thank you for helping Rhys."
Rhys: "Yeah."
Dawn: "Okay, now that all of us are on the same page, I will pair up the rest of us. Warin I want you to go with Elias since you are the oldest, and he is the youngest. Margit, you can come with me."
Elias: "Hear that Warin? You are stuck with me!" He started to laugh.
Margit: "Where are we going to look?"
Dawn: "Rhys, you should take Dusan to the Upper First and look around there. Warin, search around the Lower Third with Elias. Margit, we will go up to the Middle Second. Any questions?"
Rhys: "Not a question, but I think we should meet back here in two hours, regardless if we found anything or not."
Dawn: "I think that is a great idea. Anything else?"
Nothing else was said from the group.
Dawn: "Alright. Look for anything that could help, and meet here in two hours. Good luck everyone."
After Dawn spoke, the other two pairs went off in their different directions. Margit stayed with Dawn, waiting for him to lead her.
Margit: "Should we start near the academy?"
Dawn: "I think that is a good place to start, thank you for the suggestion."
They both then started off to the academy grounds.
11:45am: Middle Second
Dawn and Margit had made their way to the academy grounds, and were looking around for any bit of evidence they could find. To not much surprise, they did not find anything around the school, so they decided to venture around the Middle Second markets for a bit, asking anyone vague questions to see if anything would come out. After not much success, the two then decided to knock on the doors to some middle-class houses, trying to see if anyone knew anything suspicious. The only bit of information they got was from an older woman who claimed to recognize Dawn, and said that she used to be a regular when it came to buying his family's crop. After trying to gather information for a while, the two decided to stop for some lunch.
1:02pm: Middle Second markets
Margit: "It has been forever since I've spent a day out just walking around the Middle Second." She said before taking a bite of the Yakitori Dawn bought for her.
Dawn: "Same here, unless it is for school I usually never come around here. Allan and Nica usually do all of their shopping in the Lower Third." He said before taking a bite of his own Yakitori.
Margit: "It is nice to just wander around. Although we are not wandering around without a purpose, it is still relaxing to just be out in the sun." She smiled a little as she looked up at the sky.
It was a rather sunny day, with very few clouds in the sky. The temperature was perfect, not too hot but not too cool either.
Dawn: "I do enjoy being outside. I have spent a lot of my time indoors recently. I guess this was just a sign for me to get back out." He took another bite of his food.
Margit: "You have always enjoyed being outside haven't you? I remember when we were younger, I think I had just turned 12, you came with my family and I to the fireworks show they do around the time of my birthday. You told me that the fireworks remind you of me because I am loud." She laughed.
Dawn: "Did I really say that?"
Margit: "You did, shamelessly too!"
Dawn: "Oh my. That is really embarrassing." His cheeks turned red.
Margit: "Don't be embarrassed, it is a good memory because after that year you came with us every year to watch the fireworks."
Dawn: "Yes I did. Still one of the highlights of every year."
Margit: "Same here." She smiled at Dawn, her cheeks red as well.
Dawn: "Finish your food before it gets cold." He said as he took another bite.
Margit: "Yes of course!" She then devoured hers.
Dawn then finished his before locating a trash can to throw his stick away, Margit doing the same.
Margit: "Dawn, I have a question to ask before we start searching again."
Dawn: "Ask away."
Margit: "You used to say that whenever you see fireworks, you think about me, is that still true?"
Dawn: "Yes." He said as he looked away from Margit.
