Saturday Evening
Just on the edge of Solart City lies a forest where not many people venture forth into. This forest is dense and filled with wildlife, while also being home to many different groups of people such as kids who want to escape from the city, families who want to take a relaxing camping trip, or in this case, a raider group. Deep inside the forest, hidden behind the overlapping rows of trees and brush alike, the raider group "Kowai" houses their base of operations. The building that the group resides in is not big, resembling a barn-like structure that has been worn down by years and years of natural elements. The surrounding area is filled with tents and fire pits, while also having a protective barrier of wooden spikes to keep out unwanted guests.
Inside the hideout
The base was filled with raiders just talking amongst each other, and what seemed to be their leader sitting in the back of the room with a guard to both sides of him. A raider entered the room, making his way over to the man sitting in the back.
Raider: "Sir, the Chief has been successfully executed, but Elliott and Roni were killed by the Chief's son and what seemed to be some of his acquaintances." The raider said to the man after approaching him.
A few hours ago at the Kauko Estate
As the group was talking amongst themselves about their plans, the raider had been watching them from a tree off to the side of the courtyard. He overheard the group's plans to intercept Kowai at the supply port and took note of everyone's face before returning to Kowai's hideout.
Back to present
Raider: "I am pretty sure I heard them saying that they plan to intercept us Monday morning, which means either Elliott or Roni spilled the information."
Man in the Back Corner: "That is a shame, Gento. I had high hopes for both of them.."
The man in the back corner was in fact the leader of raider group "Kowai", Soe Sanzo. Soe is a young leader, only being the age of twenty-four. His build is slim cut, but muscular, and he stands at a nice 5'11. Soe has golden yellow eyes that have a hint of ocean blue in them, matched with his medium length wavy black hair. Soe wears a blue bandana on his head to keep the hair out of his face, and he almost always has a toothpick in his mouth.
Soe: "As for the Chief's son and his group, should I be worried?" His body shifted forward in his seat.
Gento: "Not at all, they seem below-average at best. Only a few of them could probably give you a fight."
Soe: "I see. Judging by them being with Dusan Kauko, they must all be teenagers?"
Gento: "Looked like it. I'm pretty sure that Dawn Carter kid is one of them."
Soe seemed intrigued by this comment.
Soe: "Is that so? Sounds like he has finally decided to seek revenge. It is a shame that Tycho is dead." He scoffed. "Or maybe he has finally decided to come looking for his sister?"
Gento: "He won't have much luck with that either." The raider chuckled. "Tycho made a fortune off that deal, then the greedy bastard left us behind."
Soe: "That poor girl is probably dead by now. I can only imagine what that Sentinel wanted from her." He then stood up. "Probably wanted to add her to the slave trade."
Gento: "I suppose so. You would think that those bastards running the Divine Solace already have enough money."
Soe: "They do, but you don't see many humans with white hair anymore. They catch a pretty penny."
Gento: "Maybe we could capture that Dawn kid and sell him off?"
Soe: "Doubt it, nobody wants a slave who can fight back. It will be better to kill him and let him join his parents." He chuckled.
Gento: "You're a cruel man, Soe, but I respect it."
Soe: "Not as cruel as the Sentinels. I heard they are back on a heavy offensive against the Epsilon. I'm not sure why they are targeting this planet, but I'm glad to be done here. Killing Oliver Kauko was such a pain in the ass, if only the Sentinel could've done it 'emself."
Gento: "I'm sure it is just easier to have some small-timers do it. The fact that Oliver knew too much about the slave trading probably caused a headache."
Soe: "I'm starting to think the Sentinels are just lazy. That damned Yoshihiro Ravencroft needs to get his hands dirty. This war has been going on for too long, and now it's starting to affect business."
Gento: "Hopefully we have more luck in Tsukimi. This damn planet is dry."
Soe: "Well with the help of you and Galindo, Monday should be easy. We don't need to underestimate those kids though, with their education they might be able to take some of us out." He said before walking into the middle of the room.
Gento: "Here we go." He watched Soe from afar.
Soe: "All right, everyone listen up!" He yelled to gather the attention of everyone in the hideout. "We might have a minor interference on Monday, but not to worry, everything will still go according to plan! The Chief's son and a little group of his are on to us, but worst comes to worst we just have to kill a few more people before we go. I'm sure you all are okay with that?"
The crowd roared in agreement.
Soe: "That is what I like to hear!" A grin appeared on his face. "Let's get the hell off this damn planet!" He shouted.
The crowd erupted as drinks started to fly through the air. All of the raiders seemed to be excited about leaving Somniet, but not as much as their own leader, Soe Sanzo.
Sunday, the Cusnir Residence
Dawn decided to spend his last normal day with Nica and Allan, making sure every moment counted. He did not inform them of the dangers ahead, but instead warned them that he was more than likely not going to be back as he was deciding to follow his father's wishes and start his own adventure. That Sunday evening, the small family spent time looking back on the memories they had made together in the past ten years.
Dawn: "Gods, that was so embarrassing!" He laughed.
Nica: "No! That was adorable!" She exclaimed.
Allan: "If only you had tied your shoes the way I taught you, then you would not have taken such an awful fall!" He laughed along with Dawn.
Nica: "Oh you know my way is better, he still does it to this day!"
Allan: "He does not! Look at his shoes.."
As the two talked, Dawn could not help but be grateful for the life that Nica and Allan had given him in the past ten years. Although they were not his real parents, they treated him like their own blood. All the smiles and laughs he shared with them that night were real, and for the first time since the death of his parents, he was afraid to die.
