Rhys: "All of that talk for this?" He said as he continued to kick the seemingly helpless Dusan.
As Rhys continued to attack Dusan, a small crowd of people began to form. This did not matter to Rhys, pure anger blinded any spatial awareness he had in that moment.
Rhys: "Nothing you could ever do would make up for the pain you put my best friend through. First you bully him, and then you tell him that you knew what really happened to his parents." His voice erupted.
As Rhys continued to kick Dusan, he tried to gather his thoughts after losing any sense from the punch thrown by Rhys. Dusan then came to, grabbing Rhys' leg causing Rhys to lose balance and fall on top of Dusan. Dusan would use this to his advantage, pushing Rhys body off of his own before standing over the now toppled Rhys.
Dusan: "I was trying to help him, Rhys!" He shouted. "I feel bad that I hid it, and I know that I should have said something sooner. I never said that I didn't regret it. I'm sorry." The emotion packed behind his words made it seem like the fight was just an act put on performers to the growing crowd of bystanders.
Rhys: "Sorry isn't enough.." He said as he stood back up. "Dawn suffered because of what happened, and he is still suffering today! Even though he doesn't act like it... his heart has been broken for ten fucking years!" He then jolted at Dusan, throwing another punch directed at his face.
Dusan caught Rhys' fist as he pushed it to the side, clearly trying to avoid a fight.
Dusan: "Stop this nonsense, Rhys! Please!" He was desperate sounding in his words.
Rhys did not listen, recovering his hand just to throw another punch. His attacks were sloppy due to his clearly clouded mind. Dusan easily avoided the attack like it was nothing before pushing Rhys back to create distance between them. Rhys staggered back, but recovered quickly. He used his momentum to propel himself forward into Dusan. As Dusan staggered back himself, Rhys threw another punch that connected with his face this time. Dusan felt the painful sensation as his vision blurred. Rhys was clearly aiming to do some damage.
Dawn: "What the hell is going on?" He shouted out to the two as he quickly approached with Margit by his side.
Dawn immediately held Rhys back as Margit went to Dusan to see if he was alright. Once Margit took a look at Dusan's face she could tell that there was no major damage done, but his nose was bleeding pretty badly. As Dawn held Rhys back, he started to calm down.
Dawn: "Rhys what the hell?" He stared at his friend directly.
Rhys: "He-" Rhys was starting to realize what he had done, "he doesn't deserve to just be forgiven for what he did!"
Dawn: "He is definitely not forgiven Rhys, but still, that is no way to treat anyone who wanted to help. Sure he kept it a secret, but he still said something. That is what matters now." He then took his hands off Rhys.
Rhys stepped back, looked at Dusan as his sister wiped blood from his nose.
Rhys: "I-" His mind started swelling with regret for his actions, "I didn't mean to..."
Margit: "How does your nose feel?"
Dusan: "It isn't broken. I should be fine." He said as he started to wipe the blood himself.
Margit gave him a nod before walking over to her brother. As soon as she got to him, she took her hand and put all her strength into a slap that Rhys would never forget.
Margit: "You are such an asshole. He has been trying to help Dawn get closure the whole day! This was uncalled for.." Her face flushed with embarrassment.
Dawn: "How about we all just calm down.." Dawn said as he held his hands out.
The other three looked at him.
Margit: "I-I agree. I'm sorry.." She backed away from Rhys.
Rhys was full of embarrassment and regret. His own sister struck him across the face, and it would surely leave a mark.
Dusan: "Of course. Did you guys find anything?" He said in an attempt to change the subject.
At this point the crowd that had gathered was completely gone now.
Dawn: "We found a whopping nothing." He let out a sigh.
Margit: "Unfortunately every place we checked was dry. What about you?"
Dusan: "We didn't find anything. We came back to regroup, hoping that the rest of you did.."
Rhys: "Elias and Warin should be here by now." Rhys seemed to have collected himself enough to start speaking with the rest of the group.
Dawn: "I guess you are right about that. Should we be concerned?"
Margit: "Maybe they are on the way?"
Dusan: "Perhaps if they aren't here in a few minutes we should go look for them?"
Rhys, still upset with Dusan, glared at him as he spoke. Just yesterday it seemed as if Dusan couldn't give less of a shit about Warin and Elias, but now he was concerned?
Dawn: "That is probably a good idea."
Margit: "I think so too. Hopefully they found something and they are just caught up."
Dawn: "We can always count on you to be optimistic huh, Margit?" He smiled, neither fake or real.
Margit: "I try to be. It helps put my mind at ease." She smiled back, clearly noticing his smile that, to her, had absolutely nothing behind it but the skull in his head.
