Chapter 15 - Ch. 15: The Murderer

His voice was choked, panting. His eyes were also glazed over. He clenched his hands tightly.

He stared at his girl, reflecting the emptiness in his gaze.

I could feel the pain he was experiencing by looking at the scene with my naked eyes.

I heard the low sigh that caught in his throat, a small trembling sound.

After that, the young man bit his lip hard. His body was also trembling.

At this moment, light shone brightly and dazzlingly on the young man's body. An aura appeared enveloping like before!

Suddenly, the chain binding him broke by itself, a central rumble created by that aura.

My body reflexively stood up.

I immediately noticed the boss who looked over when the aura appeared. Looking at the young man while squinting. His aura also appeared terrifyingly.

The atmosphere immediately turned hot. Rumbling sounds vibrated in the air, it felt like every gust of wind was creating tension to the bottom of the soul.

Suddenly, the surrounding atmosphere turned quieter, as if the space was filled with a silence that darkened any previous commotion.

The atmosphere that was previously smouldering with turbulent emotions, now became calmer and more restrained!

The boss stopped the aura with a single hand movement!

What the hell is going on?!

At this moment, his steps advanced like an interrupted melody, towards the sword that stood alone amidst the silence of the night. Like a bird flying across an ocean of nothingness, his hand reached for the hilt.

Meanwhile, the girl's gaze was like frozen water. She felt an uneasy feeling at the young man's actions.

Then, the sword was raised up. The sharp edge was pointed at him: right at his own neck.

There was a rush of wind, as well as the sound of blood rushing, dripping from the neck.

The sound of the wind pierced the silence, it felt as if time had stopped for a moment.

The sword pierced into his flesh! He pushed the sword deeper into his own neck!

The young man's body slid from where he stood, like a tragic story chiselled on the stage of fate.

He fell in slow motion, as if time was showing each second at a slower pace.

His body, like a white sheet of paper flying freely, conveyed an unstoppable weight.

Like the flow of a thrilling river, I watched the girl trying to break through the violent current that was crashing down on her.

In staggered vision, she treads each step towards the lover lying on the grass, like an agonising journey written by fate itself.

However, the force overshadowing the girl was too great, like a ferocious ocean pulling her back into its vortex.

While the girl moved like a butterfly flying on fragile wings, her body was pulled by the tide of humans encircling her.

They, like dark thieves robbing the light, dragged the girl into the darkness without mercy.

The girl's steps halted, caught between the swaying and pulling, as if a tragic dance was being danced on the ruins of a broken heart.

In the frozen silence, there was a rumble that struck my entire soul.

The girl's voice, a desperate cry, was lost in the cacophony of people stripping away the peace.

The girl's body, as a portrait snatched by time, was tossed about in the dark, merciless current.

Her cries, like a river that never stops flowing, drench the earth around her.

Her eyes, now an unstoppable spring, radiated a deep sadness.

Meanwhile, her beloved, lay on the ground like a ruin left by time.

His body, a ruin of a life that had vanished, lay before the girl who had been stripped naked by fate.

And I, as a silent witness behind the curtain of fate, was transfixed in the void that breathed in my every breath.

"Miss Katheryne, can you describe the victim's body shape in detail?" a girl asked.

Through my wide-open eyes, I witnessed the figure of a girl who graced the world with unbeatable grace. Someone was questioning Katheryne.

Her face, luminous like the moon shining at midnight, highlighted an unquenchable beauty.

Her eyes, as beautiful as the mesmerising ocean, radiated intelligence and gentleness in one alluring package.

And her hair, as long as the blushing twilight, waved gently dancing over her graceful shoulders.

I was familiar with this girl. Through the computer screen, I'd seen her a few times when she got a part in side quests or event quests. I also recently remembered that she was a Fontaine citizen.

A journalist who is fully devoted to her work at The Steambird, she is a person who never hesitates to pursue the best news.

She is Charlotte.

A figure respected and recognised for her sincerity and unparalleled quality of reporting.

Likes to venture into every corner of the city, ready to appear anywhere at a moment's notice if something catches her eye.

However, it is not uncommon for her steps to lead her into danger, where every dangerous moment seems to be an integral part of her career.

I exhale. Within Charlotte flowed courage and dedication... completely contradictory to my character. But I didn't hate her.

"The rhythm of the wind blowing. The soft dress flowing along her body was decorated with lace and ribbons. Her hair neatly arranged under a wavy hat, her gaze full of elegance," said Katheryne.

I was transfixed for an instant. I had heard these words somewhere, from the mouth of someone I knew.

He was a man with a height of 170 cm.

William? I tilted my head. Was he the person who did it?

At this moment, a system appeared suddenly.

I'm sorry I'm getting confused about how to tell it, I know the execution is bad... However, I intend not to focus on the detective scene that doesn't match the MC.

Well, you're probably wondering why I haven't updated in a while... honestly, I've been getting beat up by assignments, and I've lost motivation halfway through.

I'm thinking of starting a Patreon, what do you think? Where it will give you access to read chapters faster.
