Chereads / The Game Master: Lord Of The Abyss / Chapter 3 - Blue Planet

Chapter 3 - Blue Planet

Zyreth stared at the Blue Planet for a few moments. As soon as he recovered, he couldn't help but raise a brow. His consciousness only focused on his surroundings and the planet.

He was still surprised, as this place was obviously not in the Endless Chaos but in the main dimension. Zyreth pondered for a while, only focusing his attention on the planet and the surrounding sea of stars.

How can my consciousness reach here if I'm trapped in the Endless Chaos?

Zyreth's body was still inside the Endless Chaos, that much he could confirm. However, he didn't know what happened, and his consciousness could bypass the restrictions.

Then a realization struck him. Could it be because of those chaotic waves? Zyreth thought it could be a possibility, but he didn't have a lot of information, so he could just guess, and exploring would be necessary later.

For now, he wanted to know the significance of this place for him and his plans. Having decided that, Zyreth continued exploring with his consciousness.

Shortly, he also confirmed that this was indeed in the main dimension and not a part of Endless Chaos. However, he discovered that the energy seemed a bit strange.

As his consciousness further approached the planet, he was again taken aback! This time, his heart pounded as he was astonished. He finally noticed what was strange. As he focused on this planet, there was also a kind of glimmer, as though he had seen a treasure.

Indeed, Zyreth had seen a treasure. Something that was even rare for him, who lived for so many eons.

His consciousness wrapped around the planet; it was easy and simple for him to do so. Soon enough, everything and anything about this planet was exposed to him.

Zyreth's body in the Endless Chaos straightened, and a small tug formed on his lips. It was indeed a planet with pure energy without any signs of outside influence.

He then observed the living beings inside and their civilization. It was a human civilization without any other intelligent races. Their civilization seemed to be involved and evolving through the science and technology route.

It was not anything new for Zyreth. On a lot of planes and even planets around the main dimension or main material plane, a science and technological civilization was present. However, in most of these civilizations, there was already the influence and interference of divine gods, magic, and arcane. Yet this civilization lacked any magical influence at all.

His consciousness flew, and he watched the way humans lived and even focused on some individuals. Zyreth was never interested in observing the lives of mortals and only loved to sleep, but he discovered he wasn't bored and even thought they were still rather interesting.

During his observations, he finally managed to find a similarity between the humans here and the humans he was familiar with. It seemed it was indeed a collective trait of their race; creativity was a given, but so was the so-called human heart. Zyreth didn't focus on that too much and instead pondered their hobby or their current era.

Hmmm... Virtual Reality? Zyreth's interest was piqued as they saw some of them lying in some kind of 'pod' and entering a 'game'. He became intrigued and bypassed their consciousness, and the systems of these 'games' were all vulnerable to him; the whole virtual network was.

After scrutinizing it, even after knowing that this world didn't have any interference from outside forces yet, he was astonished to know that this thing indeed wasn't influenced by magic. Although he was able to notice how this thing works at a glance.

It was a similar thing to the subspace or dream space of those mages and arcanists that he happened to encounter during one of his trips. Still, the major difference, for the humans in this civilization, it was only a 'hobby' and a job for them.

This kind of technology, while boasted as mature in this era by humans, was a far cry from reaching true realism and was at most just an interesting toy. Although he couldn't compare much of their technology, Zyreth never visited a civilization evolving a pure technological civilization route.

Zyreth observed the civilization for a few more days; after all, he was only idle at this moment. During this time, he also tried to influence the world using his consciousness and experimented with whether he could interfere with the daily lives of humans. In the end, he got two results: a failure and a success.

He couldn't influence the humans, like talk to them or act like some kind of ghost, but he was able to enact his influence through the virtual world. His impact seemed minuscule, but in an era of the internet and virtual technology, Zyreth still had the power to influence this world in another form.

Once he was done observing humans and knowing the limitations of his influence, Zyreth finally focused on his main agenda and the most important thing that caught his interest.

And that was, this Blue Planet itself. He licked his lips and smiled. Zyreth's consciousness gathered and focused at the core of the planet. He fell silent and marveled for a while at its purity.

What surprised him the most was that this planet's age was already in the billions, and the human civilization inside also seemed to have had a considerable amount of time since its creation; it hadn't been discovered yet or influenced by outside forces.

The Divine Gods, or even the Abyss, had a distinct way to influence a planet, whether for the divine energy from the believers or the invasive nature of the Abyss.

Since this planet wasn't yet influenced, the planet and its inhabitants were extremely pure in essence. Their souls still carried their origin mark. Not to mention the accumulated energy that was inside the planet's core for billions of years.

Zyreth couldn't help but swallow, and a rare excitement crept within him. For a moment, he even forgot his grudge against Oblivion as he stared at the core, the place that was hidden from their awareness.

In his 'eyes' the core with pure light constantly emitted light, some of the light flew outside while some lights again merged with the massive pure light. It was pure white without blemishes—something even Zyreth was truly tempted by.

His true nature seemed to surface at this moment. Zyreth's personality was that of a lazy and casual ancient god, yet no one would ever forget one of his titles, The Lord of the Abyss.

The Abyss' invasive nature was a terrifying trait known to everyone on the material plane. It came without saying that its Lord held a similar characteristic.

Looking at it, his smile widened.

"The method to restore my power..." Zyreth mumbled as he licked his lips.
