It came without saying how much energy Zyreth needed to restore his domain and make a similar passage in the Endless Chaos to escape. And even at this moment, his energy was continuously being sucked away by those chaotic waves and the dull environment itself, which lacks concepts of anything.
His domain was continuously restored, and tried to regenerate his Infernal Power but it was also being spent in the same manner. So, he needed a lot of time to accumulate such massive energy to be able to escape.
And now, what lay ahead of him was a pure source of power that would be enough to completely restore his energy. In the end, harvesting it was also quite difficult, as Zyreth couldn't influence the material dimension much with his consciousness alone.
Sending an avatar was also out of the question, as he didn't even know how to bypass the restrictions in the Endless Chaos. His consciousness reaching this place was pure luck.
Of course, he was not foolish enough to let this opportunity pass. Zyreth wholly focused again on the pure light and the activity around it.
Since the planet didn't have any outside influence, it didn't have a complete system and only operated on its own. At this point, after billions of years, the planet itself also made a simple yet effective reincarnation system.
Those lights merging with it were the souls of humans, and while being purified again in the core, a new soul would emerge for a new birth. It was very simple and even the reason why the souls inside this planet maintained their purity and even held their origin mark. In other words, some of them were only reborn versions of their ancestors, and their souls were even strengthened at each reincarnation.
Although it was also inevitable that some souls were too weak to enter a reincarnation again, they were still significant to keep the core in its endless operation.
Watching this seemingly repetitive and dull work, Zyreth only felt an indescribable hunger for it. It was his instincts as the Lord of the Abyss. Although he was the one who rarely let this trait of his take over, he also didn't care once it surfaced.
How to influence this world to become his source of power was the main focus here. Zyreth contemplated for a while, and it didn't take long before an idea struck him. Moreover, it was also the more reasonable way to involve his influence in the virtual network.
Right, what could be the best way to influence these humans than the Virtual Technology in their possession? For Zyreth, knowing the fundamentals and everything about this technology was as easy as flicking a finger.
His consciousness had already spread through the whole planet like a net; every piece of information and detail around the world was revealed to him. Not even the revolutionary Skynet of the humans could stop him, and no one sensed his invasion at all.
Where should I start? Zyreth mumbled inwardly, Hmm... a game. That's right. VR games were the focal point of this era. It seemed it wasn't a mere game anymore, but it also held great significance for their economy. Although Zyreth had the idea of these mundane things, such as money, he never bothered to understand their importance in life or experience the life of a mortal.
Again, he stopped to contemplate. Zyreth had seen and observed the current top VR game, which was said to have been pushed by their government, but he still had to create a so-called game from scratch something beneath him to do so. Well, the real thing was, he didn't know how these things would be entertaining for the players.
During his observation, Zyreth understood that having created a game without entertainment value would not garner too much attention. Moreover, entertainment value was not the only important part; he had to offer a unique element for this game.
He planned to make this game his platform to slowly influence the world, and being a well-known game was not enough; his game had to be the most influential and sole VR game.
Zyreth sighed, and his lazy-ass life was bound to come to an end. In the meantime, he had to be his most productive self. He missed those subordinates of his; he only had to order something, and they would obey him no matter the cost. Now, he would be doing all of this on his own.
Wait, speaking of it, was there a possibility that he could contact his subordinates? Or even the Abyss? He might as well try later, although he didn't have much hope. After all, his body was still technically trapped inside the Endless Chaos.
Focusing on this VR game was his goal for the time being.
In the coming days, Zyreth observed some of the players first and decided to look at the games from their perspective. Gathering information about anything in the world was easy for him, but he wanted to know everything from the root.
That to say, how do these players feel about playing a VR game? Their perspective was important to him. Zyreth knew that the game he was about to make would lack the element of entertainment or even the sense of humanity if he only made it from his perspective. His brain circuit was fundamentally different from that of mortals, after all.
Moreover, what he was about to do was no ordinary game. Heh, a devious plan was already forming in his head.
As such, he spent considerable time observing the players. What he didn't lack was time. After a few more days, Zyreth stopped his observation and began his preparation.
Zyreth, in the Endless Chaos, opened his eyes. For him, multitasking was an easy matter. So, while a bit of his consciousness was still outside and observing the Blue Planet, he could operate in his own body just fine.
It was only like he had two eyes, though; he could stop paying attention to the other for a while. Zyreth didn't want to make most of his consciousness return to his body, as he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to replicate this kind of luck again.
He was still in his sitting posture, and the same dull background greeted him. He paid it no mind as a miniature abyss appeared before him. His domain was operating as per usual; there wasn't really any damage around it. It was only that its Infernal power was not the same as its peak.
With a flash, Zyreth disappeared and entered his domain. Even the miniature abyss vanished without a trace; only a fluctuation of immense power could be sensed around the vicinity.
In an instant, Zyreth was already standing on the seemingly red, dried ground. He raised his head. Three reddish moons hung in the skies; they flickered for a moment as though welcoming the return of the master.
His domain was indeed a replica of the real Abyss. Similarly, it had ten floors, but at the deepest lay the abyssal core, in this case, his domain's core.
Zyreth's body flashed, and he appeared before the core. It looked like massive flesh at a glance; red liquid that appeared to be blood surrounding it. The terrifying heat also made anyone double-think about approaching it.
He calmly stared at it; he didn't even stop and walked on the surface of the scorching red liquid casually. Soon, he was already a step away from the massive flesh. And as soon as he was in its vicinity, the massive flesh seemed to beat and became lively; the red liquid too created waves, but they never misbehaved on Zyreth's feet.
His hand reached out and touched the flesh that was beating in joy. Like a pet, he stroked it and smiled.
"You worked hard, child."
