After the Wolf Incident
The wolf attack caused significant changes in the guild's approach to beginner quests. Following two dangerous incidents, it was decided that all first quests for children would now be monitored by adults from a safe distance.
Cana, being the kind-hearted kid she was, blamed herself for my injuries. She began training harder, her resolve growing stronger. Honestly, at this rate, she will even surpass her canon counterpart easily.
But the presence of the wolves that day wasn't normal. An investigation led by Gildarts revealed signs of human interference. Gramps's expression remained stormy for days, and the guild collectively grew more cautious.
On a different note, the Thunder God Tribe was officially formed in the guild. When Laxus hunted the wolves in retaliation, he came across Bixlow and Evergreen and ended up saving them. Fried joined later, being the son of a friend of the guild master. All three became Laxus's fanboys, though they were surprisingly kind to Cana and me. It's hard to imagine them becoming the arrogant jerks from canon, but time will tell.
As for Laxus, his scowl remained as permanent as ever. Bringing him back from his downward spiral seemed like a long-term challenge, so I decided to leave that for canon events.
Unlocking My Magic
Once my magic was unlocked, it became easier to use. Mavis advised me to take it slow, focusing on stabilizing each arrow during creation. Her guidance made sense, so I spent more time perfecting the fundamentals instead of rushing.
A New Journey
Years passed. Gildarts had been taking Cana and me on quests for the last year to help us gain experience. Today, however, was special.
We were headed to the northern regions to hunt demons. Among them was Deliora. Canon had changed significantly, and now there were two demons we needed to deal with.
"Are we there yet?" I asked Gildarts, already feeling impatient.
"Not yet, kid. And we're not heading straight to the demons."
"Then where?" Cana chimed in, curious.
"There's an old friend of mine, Ur. She's an ice wizard and lives nearby. We can get more information from her."
"What do you mean by 'old friend'?" Cana's eyes narrowed suspiciously at Gildarts.
Sweat trickled down his forehead. "Wait, Cana, it's not like that! She's just a friend—nothing more!"
"Well, if there is something, I'm telling Mom when we get back," Cana declared, crossing her arms.
"There's nothing, I promise!" Gildarts stammered.
I bit back a laugh, knowing full well that teasing him openly would earn me a one-way ticket through the air.
Since meeting the so-called "god," my system had changed drastically. It no longer provided arrows, as I could now create them myself. Instead, it occasionally gave me potions or items.
However, this time, I received an official quest:
[Main Quest: Find Ultear, reunite her with Ur, and resolve the misunderstanding. Reward: Night Vision Visor. Failure: End of the World.]
The stakes were high, but I had timed our departure using clues from the system. I knew exactly when we would encounter her.
"Look, Dad! Someone's coming!" Cana pointed ahead, spotting a dark-haired girl stumbling through the snow.
It was Ultear.
As predicted, she collapsed.
We rushed to her, and I materialized a fire arrow to provide warmth. Cana used her cards to assess her condition.
"How is she?" Gildarts asked.
"She's malnourished and exhausted. The cold made it worse," Cana reported.
"Let's get her to Ur's house," Gildarts decided.
At Ur's Cottage
We reached a cozy cottage nestled among the trees. A woman with dark hair, cut just above her shoulders, stood outside with two children.
"Gildarts, you bastard! Is that you?" the woman—Ur—called out.
"No time for greetings! We found a girl in the snow!" Gildarts shouted back.
"Bring her inside! Kids, grab some herbs from the backyard!" Ur commanded, ushering us into the warmth of the cottage.
Cana and I worked together to stabilize Ultear. I used fire arrows to heat water, while Cana scanned her condition further. When Gray and Lyon returned with herbs, Ur shooed us boys outside to clean and treat Ultear.
Moments later, a loud cry erupted from inside the cottage.
"AAAAHHH!"
We rushed back in to find Ur cradling Ultear, tears streaming down her face. She kept repeating Ultear's name, piecing together the truth.
The others looked shocked, but I stayed composed. Over the years, I had cultivated the image of a calm and insightful kid, which helped in situations like this.
[Quest Completed.]
The notification brought relief. But then:
[Error: Emergency Quest.]
A chill ran down my spine as the system displayed a new objective:
[Two of Zeref's demons have decided to kill all humans in the area. Eliminate or immobilize them. Reward: Arc of Time manual for non-living objects. Failure: Death by demons.]
"Looks like things just got serious," I muttered under my breath.
A/N- hope you like it and every 100 powerstone gets extra chapter of Jason.
