"Who's there?" Ah, the leader is shaking in his boots and looking around. Seeing him now, I can't believe he's the same guy who wanted to kill hundreds of humans just a few minutes ago.
I knew wasting time would inevitably lead to problems I couldn't solve, so I decided to act immediately. I pulled out a hollow arrow and a vial. Even though I hadn't taken any medicine classes like Cana and her mother from Granny, I could still make simple concoctions. This one was like chloroform—but stronger.
I filled the arrow with the liquid and added segments of air and fire magic. When it struck, the air and fire would mix, expanding the concoction and spreading it around.
I fired the arrow into the scared crowd, and it worked like a charm—they all fainted. I then took the antidote, went into the smoke, and killed everyone, including the leader. Afterward, I used a light arrow to destroy the magic circle, clearly made with dark magic.
Looking closer at the dead bodies, I realized most of them weren't even adults. It made my decision to kill those bastards all the more justified. I then used a fire arrow to burn all the bodies, along with the entire church.
Even though I destroyed the magic circle, the chance of someone restarting it while I was gone was too high. I decided to head to where Ur was.
Jumping on top of buildings to get there as fast as possible, I silently thanked the system reward for boots that boosted my parkour skills. They allowed me to reach her quickly.
"Hey, Karna, give me a hand!" Ur called out. She was holding her ground surprisingly well. Deliora was trapped in what looked like rose bushes, but they appeared alive.
"Moving rose trees?" I asked.
"They're treants, actually. Every maker mage has a style, and mine is mostly based on nature. So, my creations reflect that."
"Cool. So, what's the plan?" I asked.
"Well, Deliora is hard to defeat. Even though it only has strength enhancement, the chances of it dying are slim. I'm thinking about sealing it permanently."
I understood the implication—and it wasn't good. I remembered what happened to her in the original canon.
"Wait! Don't do it! Ultear is waiting for you back home."
Judging by my expression, she caught on to what I was thinking. "Relax, kid. I know what you're thinking: iced shell. If you weren't here, I might've used that. But since you're here, you can hold him back while I prepare the runes."
"Does that reduce the cost of the magic?"
"Yup, by a lot. I won't die, and I won't get sealed either. But the price will still be high."
"Alright. I'll hold him back. Just make sure you're safe, all right?"
"You're not my dad, kid. I can take care of myself," she said with a smirk.
I ran toward Deliora. I noticed many changes from canon, especially the use of ice runes. I wondered if I could use them too—something to ask Mavis about later.
I materialized a hollow arrow with a light core. Right now, it was my most effective attack against demons. It wasn't lethal, but it was great for distraction and annoyance, which was all I needed.
I began shooting arrows and dodging around, hitting sensitive spots like joints, armpits, and toes. It was effective, but the rapid firing and the amount of magic I was using were draining me fast.
As I dodged and fired, I could feel my body weakening. Suddenly, I saw its massive arm coming straight at me. I knew I couldn't dodge in time.
"KARNA!" Ur shouted.
At the last moment, I summoned my sun armor. A bright golden light erupted, and Deliora's whole body recoiled as if it had hit an invisible wall.
"Ur, is it ready?" I shouted.
"Just shock him somehow! I need him to stay still for a second!"
"Got it," I said.
I released all the accumulated energy in my armor. Over the years, my earrings had absorbed a significant amount of power, and I unleashed it all at once. It knocked Deliora back and destroyed everything in the vicinity. Note to self: learn how to focus that energy in one direction.
"Niflheim Sacrificial Iced Shell!" Ur suddenly shouted.
A massive runic symbol appeared above Deliora, and all the surrounding ice energy began converging around the disoriented demon, sealing it for good. It was finally over.
I heard system messages piling up but ignored them for now. I needed to find Ur.
"Ur! Where are you?" I shouted.
"I'm here, kid," a weak voice called out.
I found her, alive—but she wasn't unscathed. She now had a leg, and an arm made of ice. The way she used her hair to cover one eye suggested she might have lost that as well.
"Damn it, what were you thinking?" I asked angrily.
"The iced shell required me to sacrifice my life. But with runes, I only had to sacrifice parts of my body and some of my magic container," she said calmly.
I used my senses to check her condition. She was all right, but nearly half of her magic container was gone. While she might be able to rebuild it over time, there would be serious repercussions if she pursued magic in the future.
And that's how this part of the canon changed—because of me.
A/N- hope you like it and every 100 powerstone gets extra chapter of Jason.
