Darkness, all encompassing. It was warm, comforting almost as if he was wrapped in... well, darkness. He heard stifled voices, alien to him, he couldn't understand them, and they were interrupting his little world of warmth and peace. Also who was it that kept striking him? it was random without provocation from him. The pain kicked in as he received this beating, after a few stalled blows his natural instincts kicked in and he fought back, swinging his limbs. He felt his body connect with another, he thrashed around faster and faster feeling the blows raining on him slow. He was desperate and weak to start with, his exhaustion building quickly but he refuses to be the first to stop. His body already past his limits after about a minute, but he continued until there was no more movement from the opposition. Was it over? Did he win? After a few seconds he saw a slight luminescent red breach the darkness before feeling a sense of refreshment and renewed vigor enter his body. He reached forward towards what was attacking him and grabbed as he felt something brush against his touch. Pulling it towards him he gripped it and pulled it into himself, allowing the darkness to once again suck him into its blissful embrace. The voices continued, muffled, faraway but he didn't care, he was drifting back into the abyss not a worry in the world rested on his shoulders. He sighed inwardly before closing his mind out from anything other than the comfort and warmth the darkness gave him, the body of his enemy held close to his chest.
He awoke again with a start. He could hear those voices again, this time they were louder more urgent. Reminding him of his encounter with this thing he had... Wait, where did the other body go, it couldn't have just disappeared. He reached around again, searching for that which he had defeated. Yet there was nothing, just emptiness that met his limbs. He paused, confused not knowing why it was gone, not understanding what happened. Yet, he couldn't process deeper, the voices getting louder through the darkness. More insistent, more sinister.
"YOU REALLY THOUGHT I'D BE OKAY WITH THAT?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?" There was a pause and he heard quiet drops somewhere outside of his reach. He thought it was done and he could rest again.
"NO, WAIT IT WAS JUST ONE TIME, I SLIPPED UP IM SORRY!!!" He felt it twice, once reverbrating in his ears before his backside exploded in pain, like lightning searing it's way through his existence, before the darkness closed itself back around his mind.
He awoke yet again, his mind discombobulated, there was no recollection of anything before. Just pain, constant fiery pain. Yet for some unbenowst reason he chose not to let the warm grip of unconsciousness take him again. He felt the vibrations of something through his body it was steady and comforting through the pain. Somewhat like a pianist would use a metronome to keep pace, but it was slower more like a reminder of something. He let the vibrations take over him, numbing him from anything else. He drifted like this in and out of sleep. This kept on for an unknown amount of time before he heard voices yet again. "PUSH, YOU CAN DO IT!" he felt himself move, ever so slightly, panic rising in him, what was going on? He felt it again. It was very slow, but he could feel the shifting of his body. It was an excruciating thing, the unknown, after ages he felt himself break through something. Light flooded his vision, causing iridescent red to coat his sight.
"She passed about halfway through, we had to automate the rest to make sure the baby pulled through." As he heard the voice he opened his eyes turning towards it, he saw a blurred shadow and gazed upon it unblinking, he was in shock. A sharp pain hit him on the backside and he cried out for a moment before taking a gasping breath. "Thank the gods, the little one breaths, it would be a shame to lose them both."
"The mother said to name him Damien, if it was a boy, and Tessa if it was a girl." Another voice had chimed in.
"I guess Damien will be his name then." The first voice replied knowingly. "It's unfortunate, but he'll have to go to an orphanage, get one in communication quickly, we don't want a charge happening." The shadow holding him started to rock him after this, quickly pulling him back into the warm embrace of the darkness.
