Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

"Alright... ready in 3,2...1"

With a loud thud, the two men placed the body on an altar.

They took one last look at the man on the altar.

Drool flooded out of his mouth while he incoherently mumbled with the occasional cries.

His eyes appeared glazed over as he stared at the ceiling blankly.

A wave of pity washed over them for a split second, but they promptly ignored it and headed towards the door.

Before leaving, they turned around and placed a hand on the left side of their chests and said, "Order and restoration," and with that they left and the door closed with a loud bang behind them.

The cycle in Evian's mind continued and it wasn't the first time Evian had seen this mysterious humanoid silhouette.

For the past innumerable cycles it had done nothing but stand there and watch as Evian's mental state deteriorated each time. So much so that now Evian just ignored its existence until it did something out of the ordinary.

It raised its hand and then suddenly everything was pitch black and all that remained was Evian and the mysterious black figure.

Evian was now in his regular body but he was hunched over on the ground and cracks all over his body while the black figure stood in front of him with its arms crossed over.

The atmosphere was tense and awkward as none of them spoke or tried to engage in conversation.

Then, Evian suddenly spoke, " Who are you?"

(No answer)

"Where am l?...and why did you bring me here?"

(No answer)

Now Evian was starting to get angry.

"Hey! Why aren't you answering my questions? I asked why did you bring me here?" Evian said with a shout.

(No answer)

Immediately after a thought crossed Evian's mind.

'What if this was just another hoax?'

'A hoax to give him a sense of hope that someone has come to save him and then yank it away from him.'

These thoughts seemed to line up with the situation unfolding currently and so now Evian had truly and completely lost all hope and had reached the epitome of despair.

He recounted all the events up until that point in his life and the more he did the more he started to think that all the bad things that had happened were because of him either directly or indirectly.

He rolled over onto his side and got into the foetal position and suddenly a crushing force pressed him to the ground. The force was so high that Evian was struggling to breathe and after a few minutes, he could feel his consciousness slip away.

It was then, just as he was about to go unconscious, he heard a loud echoey voice speak. The voice boomed across the space sounding not particularly masculine or feminine.

"After several years of searching this pathetic child is the only one...."

The figure placed its hand on Evian covering his entire face and blocking out his vision.

Evian couldn't hear what this mysterious figure said completely as everything around became pitch black.
