To utilise one's aura, one had to meditate and listen for 'The voice' upon which you are your affinity is revealed. Those who aren't able to live their lives as regular people. This usually happened at 13, but for Evian, who had strong aura but still no affinity, he was bullied by the rest.
And so he got to work, he sat on his bed crossing his legs and closed his eyes. He remained perfectly still, his breathing slowed and steady.
The world around him blurred as his mind delved into the inner recesses of himself.
It was dark all over. He could neither see nor hear anything. Until small orange light appeared in front of him darting all over. It whizzed past him multiple times, and he could vaguely hear a voice.
"Negative."
"÷>#"
"×*#<£"
This confused Evian. He had never heard of Negative as an affinity. 'And what were the other ones?' Typically a person would only have one affinity, those with two were considered blessed by the gods, the ten most powerful Wanden all had two affinities but three was unheard-of and even ruled out by researchers as completely impossible.
That is until now. Though he didn't know what the other two were, they were still there nonetheless. This meant that if well trained Evian could become a force never before seen.
Now the question was, what exactly did Negative do? Just then, a splitting headache threw him out of his meditation. A wave of information flooded Evian's mind. It was info pertaining to Negative.
Wasting no time, he opened a fresh page on his notebook and wrote down all the info he could as it came. It read as so:
'An ability that allows the user to manipulate their aura to create an effect opposite to what the user imagines on a designated area of their desire. The user must have a grasp of how what they wish to negate works and good concentration as lack of one or both may cause the user unexpected random consequences.'
The rest of it was the basics of how to activate the ability. It was simple enough that Evian could understand the gist of it. He was worried about the consequences as it could lead to his death.
He decided to finally test out his power. He held his left hand out with all fingers spread out as if trying to grab a distant object via telekinesis. He first had to feel his aura moving around his body and then pool some of it to his hand.
He was focused. More than ever before. He could feel a warm tingly sensation throughout his body. He focused that feeling on his open hand and pointed it towards the sword sheath on the wall and imagined it going away from him.
The sheath started vibrating. Then, it started rattling violently. He continued focusing on it till all of a sudden, it stopped. A sudden wave of exhaustion came over Evian, and he fell back to his bed. Beads of sweat dripped down from his forehead to his pillow.
For the first time in a long time, he felt excited. His heart was pounding. He could feel adrenaline coursing through his veins. He didn't achieve what he wanted to, but it was progress nonetheless.
While he was mulling over this, his bedroom door opened, and a head popped in.
"Are you ok?"
" I heard a noise. You're not doing anything weird, are you?"
" I'm fine."
"OK, if you need anything you can call me."
And the door closed. Aunt Flore was a kind woman, selfless, and always worrying about him. He didn't like lying to her, but this was a necessary evil he had to take. He couldn't risk info about his power getting out as you never know who's listening. He preferred people keep their perception of him as talentless so he could train his abilities and defend himself.

A week had gone by and Roy and his gang were still nowhere to be seen. Evian was still on alert as despite having Negative it still wasn't at the point he could defeat Roy with it. He had gained better control over it in past week and he could now move small objects a metre away from him. He also found out that there was an exception to how Negative worked and that was creation and destruction of objects. He didn't know why exactly that was the case but when he imagined creating a certain object say a pen, it formed and when he imagined crushing it, it crumpled up and shattered. He had even signed up for martial arts classes to widen his skill set.
As he walked home thinking of new ways of using his power on another plane a mysterious figure was watching him.
