Hurdson quickly regained his calm and decided to first shove his non-evidential victory in Marrie's face. They started explaining to Marrie their encounter with beanie man and the battle they fought. They also told her about the Tyun stone that was likely the cause of his magic losing its power over the ferris wheel.
Bern also chipped in when it came to the fighting bits.
"Roar!" (And I was like Wham! Bam! And he flew like Zoom!)
Yes, that kind of chipping in.
I'm incredibly sure that both of them desperately wanted to rant about that stupid chicken that left the egg, but they were too busy shoving a victory in someone's face and showing off that they instead decided to talk extensively about the chicken when there was more time to make it really clear how irresponsible and evil that chicken was.
While they were busy doing that, the boy was using the flowers he had collected to make glue.
"Yeah, if we crush these pink flowers they create this sticky thing. It's very sticky, it should be able to hold the wood together."
"Yuhwa!"
"Yeah yeah, bring that piece over here, yeah the big one. I got to test this out, I've never tried it with such a big thing."
"Hurrrr"
"No no, don't crush it now!"
"Iji"
"It works! Hahahaha! We did it!"
"Wheeeee!"
"Now we just have to assemble the entire thing!.....uh..guys?"
All the animals that were bouncing in joy just a second ago were now hanging their heads, all of them depressed.
"It won't take that long to make it! Just anout two days!"
"...."
"Guar Guar!" (Look out!)
The animals all stood horrified as a giant log hurtled down from up on the ferris wheels stand.
"Yure Yure!" (Why did you make the pillar fall?)
"Guar Guar!" (I didn't! It rolled off the edge!)
"Yure Yure! Yure?" (You still let it roll! Why was it up here in the first place?)
"Guar Guar!" (I was using it to make the spokes for the ferris wheel!)
"Yure Yure?!" (Up here?!)
"Guaaaaa....." (Yea...)
A comically loud faceplant could be heard from up on the stand while the log hurtled toward the boy's head, the boy still blissfully unaware that he was about to be bonked on the head by a bigger bonk stick than he could ever own.
Screams and cries from the animals around him alerted him of something. That, and also that they were running away from him as if he was a hideous monster, going to eat them. Before he could double check if he had turned into a hideous monster without him knowing, Crack yelled at him to look up. He did, and his eyes widened as he saw the huge tree.
Bern and Marrie were too far to do anything, and while Hurdson had already spit flaming arrows towards the tree, they weren't going to reach the tree before it bashed him over the head.
"Look out pipsqueak!"
Almost as if by instinct, the kid drew the rusty axe that Aunt Teresa had given him. Deep within his eyes, a spark appeared for a second before disappearing completely. He swung the rusty axe in an upward strike, slicing the tree into two. It hit the tree at the bottom and the force carried the crack all the way through the tree.
The two halves of the tree fell on either side on him with a THUD! He coolly put the axe back into his belt. He straightened out his knees and gave a huge smile.
"Where were w-"
Which is when the flaming arrow arrived and burst in his hair. His grey hair disappeared flames replaced it.
"WHAAAA! PUT IT OUT! PUT IT OUT! MY LUSCIOUS HAIR! PUT IT OUTTTT!!!"
When the fire had finally been put out, his hair was singed and quite short in quite a few places. He sat on his knees, massaging his hair and weeping bitter tears.
"My hair.....oh god, it's horrendous"
"N-No it's no-pffffffffffffffffffffffffft-not pipsqueak-pfffffffffffffffffffffffffff-Hahahahahahahaha!"
"I can never show my face again"
"It's not that bad"
Marrie stood over him, combing through his hair to see if his skin was burned.
"Looks like your skin was untouched, you should be grateful that it was only your hair that got affected"
"ONLY MY HAIR?! I would feel much better if it was only my skin that got burned off!"
"No no, you're hair is not as important"
"Excuse me?"
"Okay okay Marrie, he might actually go rabid at this rate, look at how his mouth is foaming. I think it might be enough teasing.
"I'm not teasing him! What I'm saying is the undeniable tru-ahhhhh!"
The kid had gone feral and had clung onto Marrie and was trying to use her like a tractor. It took Bern, Hurdson and several other animals 15 minutes to finally wrench him out of that position.
Once everyone had calm down enough to not go feral again (I'm looking at you, kid) they started to work on the ferris wheel again.
Two boring, non stop working, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy days later,
During these two days, they only worked on the ferris wheel in the daytime and slept in the night, no other activities were carried out. Nocturnal creature took over the night shift and worked during the night when the daytime animals (and human) slept.
Because of their efforts, the giant ferris wheel was completed in only two days, wheresa it would have taken five years to complete it without any help.
The ferris wheel was slowly and carefully lifted up to the stand and was placed and fitted to the stand. All that was left to do was to start the ferris wheel up and go for a ride. Everyone seemed exhausted, but satisfied.
They were finally done. The ferris wheel was completed and now they could just enjoy their free time.
Hurdson climbed up onto the stand and stood toward the animals. He started speaking
"We have all put in the work today, and this is the fruit of our blah blah blah blah blah blah..." (It was a very boring speech and pipsqueak fell asleep)
Hurdson then turned toward the ferris wheel and started it up with his magic. The ferris wheel started turning, eliciting excited cheers from the animals below (Not the pipsqueak, he was asleep)
No one noticed Hurdson turn pale as he stared at the middle of the ferris wheel. All except one.
"Something's wrong", Marrie felt a strong sense of dread when she saw Hurdson like that.
"What could cause a Titan to panic?"
