Teresa dragged the boy all the way home, determined to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't injure himself again.
"I'm not a child!"
"Could have fooled me" Alex jogged ahead.
"The way you have been getting into trouble, you definitely are a child"
The boy grumbled as he was dragged, his feet leaving trails on the dirt. After an hour of trekking, they finally reached home. Alex took a bucket and started watering the plants in the front. The boy stopped grumbling and walked to the farm to tend to it.
"Get me some pumpkins dear"
The boy looked back, shocked.
"What did you just say?"
"I asked you to bring me some pumpkins, is something the matter?"
"N-Nothing"
"Good"
'Pumpkins exist here? Then what else could there be? I mean sure, there are similarities, but I thought fruits and herbs would always be different, what with the different soil and all...curious'
After they had completed their respective work, and the boy had delivered the pumpkins, the three had an early dinner. The boy told them of what he experienced in the park.
"-and there's something like magical slushy rides there, where you can drink the slushy while swimming in it!"
"That's horrid, I must tell that man to get rid of that ride immediately"
"I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist, but now I'm curious to try it out"
"No, I forbid you both from riding that ride!"
Teresa had flinched when she learned of how he injured himself, and had faceplanted when she heard of how Hurdson chose to deal with the ferris wheel. She was curious to how he found about that, since he was unconscious at the time.
"I heard it from the animals", that's what he said.
Alex didn't seem to care much about the adventures of the Nameless Child, so he just sat with a blank expression the whole time. Seeing this, Teresa decided that it might be best to do something else.
"Alex, would you like to train with me?"
Alex perked up.
"Woah really! Finally! Real training!"
The boy raised his hand. "I can spar with you too!"
"I guess that's fine, though I'll definitely beat you"
"We'll see who has the last laugh"
"So, Mama Rhino, will I finally putting the skills from watering the plants to good use?"
"Oh, there is no real training derived from watering the plants other than patience maybe. Even if there was, I do not know of such training. I was just making you water the plants"
"..."
"Now it's a habit, so you'll keep doing it won't you?"
"I-"
"Good!"
"..."
**********************************************************
In the forest outside the house-
Alex stood facing the boy, barehanded. The boy held a wooden sword in each of his hands. He had also strapped his back with a multitude of wooden weapons.
"I wouldn't have minded if you used those new weapons of yours to spar with me, you're already at a disadvantage"
"Mama Teresa didn't allow it, and don't underestimate my wood!"
"..."
"....That came out wrong..."
"Do you ever think before speaking?"
"We have to think before speaking?!"
"Wh-wha-why-huh?"
"Anyway, are you okay with no weapons? Without weapons, you won't be able to beat me"
"I'll make you eat that"
"..."
"....Th-that was your fault, you did it first"
"Are you two ready"
"Yep"
"I am"
"Then start sparring!"
Alex instantly coated his body with electricity. His body crackled, blue light zipping upwards, rising from his limbs and hair. His hair, usually drooping, partly covering his eyebrows, were standing tall, waving in the air.
"Wha-"
Alex didn't let the boy recover from the shock (Get it?.....am I getting on everyone's nerves when I do this?)
He sped towards him, balling his hands into fists. The boy threw both his swords towards Alex, which he easily dodged.
"Not even a challenge"
Alex punched straight ahead, thinking of ending this quickly and easily, but his fist hit hard wood.
'Tsk, a fluke'
Alex backed away and sped to the left, circling the boy, who had drawn his broadsword extremely quickly, blocking Alex's fist.
Alex knew that he had messed up by directly punching forward. Anyone could have seen that coming from a mile away. He quickly ran around the boy, confusing him.
The boy pulled out a giant hammer, a double edged axe, and a scythe and built a little mini fortress. The broadsword covered his back, the hammer and axe were on his right and left, and he held his scythe and faced the opening.
"I call this-All sides blocking!"
Alex almost tripped and fell flat on his face. Teresa, who was watching at a distance, had covered her face in shame.
"Just call it a mini fortress you goddamm moron!"
Alex was not a moron, and therefore decided on the best name for the technique, courtesy of me.
"Hmmm...I'll think about it"
The boy was.
"It's not gonna help you anyway"
"Why not?"
"This"
Alex jumped on the hammer and charged into the 'fortress'. The boy swung the scythe, but it was long, and he had not prepared for a fight in his 'fortress', which is why it failed miserably as his scythe got caught on the axe, and Alex punched him in the gut at 2x speed.
The boy crumpled to the floor, and Alex stopped, but backed away from him.
Before Teresa could declare the winner, the boy got back up, and dusted himself off.
"Round two"
He launched himself towards Alex, and did a low sweep with his scythe. Alex instantly jumped over it, but while he was in the air, the boy was already swinging toward him with two wooden daggers.
Alex was surprised that the boy could fight as if he had no injuries, when he was sure that the force he had put in that punch was more than enough to decommission a professional fighter.
He used the boy's head as a foothold, and kicked him away while launching himself backwards. The boy again got right back up, picked up his scythe and charged toward him again.
What followed was a one-sided beat down. Alex continued to blow the boy off his feet, and the boy continued to get back up. no matter how much power he put into his punches, no matter how many injuries the boy got, he got back up instantly almost every time.
It was quite frustrating, and Alex was losing energy. He decided to give his all during his next punch.
"Watch out dude, I'm coming at you with all I got now"
"Bring it on"
Alex overcharged his lightning, the blue lighting on his body turning a bit purple.
"Overclock"
Alex instantly appeared in front of the boy. The boy's eyes widened.
'Holy hell!'
