Chereads / The Alpha's Fox Princess Mate / Chapter 2 - Ch. 2 Party

Chapter 2 - Ch. 2 Party

Guin's friend, who was busy cooking, was Aileen—a daughter of an elemental witch—the Woods family. It was Aileen's parents who found Guin seriously injured when she escaped from the ambush, and somehow she was unconscious near the Woods residence. Since then, Guin has lived in this place and been cared for like a biological child. Time flew by fast, and she had been part of this family for more than ten years.

A bottle floated in the air before finally splashing grains of salt into the soup pot. Its fragrant aroma immediately woke Guin from her brief reverie. "What are you cooking? It smells so good."

"Rabbit meat soup. Your favorite." Aileen started to clean up all the cutlery by moving her index finger. The magic particles from the girl's fingers instantly cleaned the objects before placing them on the shelves.

In an instant, there were no more floating kitchen utensils, and the kitchen was clean again. Aileen turned off the stove and lifted the hotpot to serve it at the dining table. Like a good sister, Aileen poured soup into Guin's bowl and served some pieces of meat into it.

"The gate of the Crystal Jade will open to celebrate the return of the Alpha King's brother today. All beings in the twelve realms will be invited, including our families. Dad and Mom will not come, so I have to come to represent our family. Are you coming?" Aileen asked as she handed a bowl filled with meat soup to Guin, who still had a gloomy expression.

Crystal Jade gate was usually tightly sealed to prevent evil creatures from other realms from entering and attacking defenseless humans or stealing crucial information stored in this world. This time, the gate would be opened because King Alpha invited all his friends living in twelve realms to celebrate the return of his long-lost brother. The problem was that the celebration would be held at the mansion belonging to Alpha King in the Werewolf Realm.

"Of course, I will come."

Of the twelve realms; two of them were the Werewolf Realm and the Eternal Kingdom—where the blood-sucking creatures live. Guin chose to live in Unbound Heavens, the mortal realm because it was easier for her to get information here. Not without reason. Unbound Havens was the main headquarters of the largest information center of the twelve realms.

For the past five years, Guin had been investigating the massacre in Beast World. Unfortunately, neither the Alpha King nor the Vampire Lord took any action regarding the tragedy that befell the fox clan.

This made Guin suspect the two sovereigns and determined they were the mastermind behind all the affairs. That was also what forced her to see with her own eyes what the Alpha King and the Vampire Lord were like. Guin also hoped to find a clue about a reddish-gold-eyed vampire with spatial magic.

"I know what you're thinking." Aileen's serious tone immediately woke Guin from her reverie. "Don't you ever do that!"

"I don't understand what you mean," said Guin, pretending not to understand Aileen's warning voice.

"Not only the Alpha King or the Vampire Lord will come, but the Fae king and the priests of the sacred temple in the Enchanted Forest will also be there. All the notable individuals with powers beyond reason will gather. If you act rashly, you will become their fugitive in a matter of seconds."

Aileen already knew Guin's deepest intentions. She already considered Guin as her sister. That was why Aileen was so protective of her.

Ignoring her friend's worries, Guin drank the soup until it was finished after finishing her favorite rabbit meat.

"Don't worry. I won't do what you think," Guin said flatly.

"I believe you." Aileen turned around to take off the apron.

Secretly, a sly smile covered in burning enthusiasm appeared on Guin's beautiful face. It was clear that Guinevere would not remain silent at this big event.

Two beautiful girls who had just got out of a luxury black car immediately attracted the interested glances of young people. One wore a simple and elegant white party dress with golden yellow lace at the hem of the skirt. Meanwhile, a gold cloth belt tied her slim waist. Her black hair was in a waterfall braid with white butterfly decorations on both sides.

The other girl wore a light blue princess gown, enhancing her matching eye. Her hair was pulled into a bun, leaving a few strands around her ears to beautify her angel-like face.

The girls walked towards the front door mansion, which was huge, unbreakable, and majestic. They were like princesses walking on a carpet towards the palace gate.

"Show your invitation cards!" The doorman still did not show favoritism and welcomed all his guests with a friendly smile, but his tone remained firm.

The girl in the light blue dress gave her invitation card to the doorman, and said, "Aileen and Guinevere Woods of southern wizarding family."

The doorman nodded after seeing the contents of the invitation card and then invited them to go inside.

Arriving inside, they immediately shifted to the other side of the room, then stood silently for a moment while looking around―looking in awe at the guests from various clans. Most of the guests looked foreign to Aileen and Guin's eyes, considering that the two had never been to a big event like this, especially since they had never set foot in the Werewolf Realm. This was their first time attending a major event since reaching adulthood. After all, it was time for them to arise and start building connections with upper social circles.

"Guin, are you nervous?" Aileen intertwined her ten fingers in front of her chest, to hide her feelings.

"Not really. Are you?" Guin answered her sister without even turning around. Her gaze continued to observe the guests present one by one.

"Very! I don't know why I feel like someone is watching me."

Aileen's answer forced Guin to sharpen her instincts and look scrutinizingly in various directions to detect threats and danger. Aileen rarely felt anxious. But once she was restless, a disaster could happen around her.

"Nothing should happen while we're here. After all, this mansion was Alpha King's. This place certainly has the strictest and strongest protection system. No one will dare to cause trouble here."

Even though Guin said it in a calming and reassuring tone, Aileen's frown still didn't disappear, and her hands were still ice cold, indicating that she was very nervous.

"Aileen, weren't you the one who advised me not to do something? You know very well that no one will get away with committing a crime here."

Aileen's frown deepened as she listened to Guin's explanation. "I think I know where my anxiety comes from. It's you!"

"Me?" Guin immediately looked at her friend while pretending to be surprised. 'What did I do?'
