Why? Why?
Guin couldn't understand why the Alpha stopped investigating the massacre on Beast World. She knew she had to leave that place because her main force was not yet mature enough to bring out the shadow form for a long time. However, she didn't want to leave before getting a clear answer about the termination of the investigation into the case.
"Alpha, I can understand why the Vampire Lord is not enthusiastic about carrying out this investigation. However, I wonder why you suddenly stopped it?" asked the Elf king, demanding an explanation.
"Let me ask you this. We have been investigating this case for more than ten years; have there been any results?" The Alpha smiled since no one could answer him. "It was indeed an unfortunate event. But you all also know that since the massacre, the number of deaths in various places has decreased. Their deaths actually bring benefits to all of us."
Guin's eyebrows furrowed and her jaw tightened with anger when she heard those accusations. Why did the Alpha make it like the fox clan was a hideous and killer creature?
It wasn't just hatred that Guin felt at the moment, but the pain began to bombard her nerves because she did her best to maintain her shadow form with the remaining strength she had.
"I see your point. But, that tragedy would not have happened to the sky and crimson fox if the evil fox had not hidden in their territory. The sky fox clan was the descendant of the rare celestial beast, yet all were exterminated in one night. This shows how powerful the mastermind was to create frenzy vampires and rogue werewolve army." One of the higher-ups from the Summoner World expressed his opinion.
"The Summoner Master is right. I also heard rumors that a vampire with spatial magic was the one who orchestrated the massacre. I've never met anyone with this particular unique magic like this," stated the Elf king, then asked the Vampire Lord, "Lord Cecillion, do you know his originality?"
The Vampire Lord never made a sound since entering this room. The vampire just drank the glass of blood offered by the waiter and sat quietly like an obedient child listening to the adults talk. The lord even just gave Alpha a meaningful glance without intending to answer.
Of course, he knew who had spatial magic since it was his firstborn grandson. However, he also knew that another vampire, also had this magic, although it was different from his grandson since the other's were filled with an intense evil aura.
"Let's call it a day for now. It's time for us to join the others." The Alpha King closed the discussion unilaterally. The leaders of other nations looked disappointed but were unable to express any objection.
'NO!!' Guin shouted in her heart. She wanted to batter the Alpha King, but the pain absorbing her remaining strength prevented her. She couldn't hold back her shadow form any longer. Finally, the transparent fox's form disappeared instantly like a popped balloon, which inadvertently caused a small magic fluctuation; no one noticed, except for one person.
A pair of red eyes glanced towards where Guin was as her shadow form disappeared. As soon as the higher-ups left the room—leaving the Vampire Lord and the Alpha king—the owner of the red eyes expressed his opinion for the first time.
"There's a little intruder listening to us."
"Who?" The Alpha King seemed curious about that remark since no one would dare to sneak into this room.
"He uses the shadow form mastery," answered Lord Cecillion flatly, even sarcastically.
"That means he's from a beast clan. I only invited the Phoenix and Dragon clans. I'm very sure they wouldn't dare break the truce by sneaking in here," explained the Alpha King. "Besides, we will have a secret meeting with them in a few days. Why the rush?"
"There might be another clan beast sneaking here," the Vampire Lord speculated.
"That's not possible. I will immediately know if that happens since my magic is connected to the portal." Unless this intruder had magic that was much more powerful than the Alpha King, making him unable to detect the magic fluctuations. "Even if he managed to infiltrate here, why is he making a silly mistake to make you aware of his existence?"
"There is only one possibility. He is still green and has not mastered the shadow form perfectly. His soul was forced back into his body when he was unable to preserve his shadow form," explained the Vampire Lord without showing the slightest expression on his stony face.
"That doesn't make sense. If he's still green, how could he pass through the portal undetected, unless… he has an invitation?" Who had the invitation and dared to infiltrate the meeting of the higher-ups? The Alpha King couldn't stop wondering. "Whatever it is, he's not a threat." The Alpha King then got up from the chair.
"Lionel, don't underestimate this guy! He had a strong aura of hatred and hostility towards you. You'd better be careful!"
Cecillion's warning words unbelievably make Lionel, the Alpha King smile. "I understand."
Cecillion bid farewell, then turned away from Lionel. Suddenly, thousands of bats covered the Vampire Lord's entire body. Then, a group of bats flew through the open window, carrying the invisible vampire king.
On the other hand, Guin, who had regained consciousness, coughed while vomiting blood. Her eyes were red and moist, and the irises had shifted to a sandy hue. Her long, slender fingers began to show changes with terrifying thin muscles and claws that could tear a human's body.
Gradually, Guin's graceful appearance transformed into the figure of a terrifying monster due to the immense anger that filled her heart.
'Guin, calm down. You have to control yourself.' Guin ordered herself while trying to suppress the surge of anger that almost took over her entire body.
Aileen's family had indeed planted a spell on Guin to remove her beast aura. As long as she didn't change or use her powers, no one would be aware of her identity.
The problem was that she was currently not in the Woods' residence. Aileen was not here with her. If Guin transformed here and spread her beast aura as a sky fox, her disguise as an ordinary witch for these ten years would be in vain.
Alas, she never knew that she would never be able to produce a beast aura since her inner beast had not awakened yet.
