Chapter 5 - Ch. 5 Meet An Old Acquaintance

Guinevere took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Her appearance returned to normal as time went by. Guin's anger had been under control, but that did not mean she could obliterate the overwhelming feeling of despair and sadness in her heart at the moment.

After successfully ensuring she would not transform into a monster again, Guin decided to leave the mansion. She walked with her head bowed, trying to avoid the crowd of guests and hiding her gloomy face. She even hoped that Aileen wouldn't find out about her disappearance.

Tears continued to roll down Guin's cheeks, and small sobs managed to escape her mouth. Her head lowered as she sat behind one of the wilderness trees not far from the mansion. The clear night sky with beautiful stars was the complete opposite of Guin's feelings at the moment.

Not long after, Guin heard a sound rustle past her, followed by an extremely eye-catching light. Using the back of her smooth hand, Guin wiped away the traces of tears on her cheeks, then lifted her face.

Her pair of black eyes suddenly widened as soon as they caught a light as beautiful as the stars were dancing around her. Then, the stars shot so fast that they looked like meteor tails in the sky.

I think I've seen this somewhere, thought Guin, feeling nostalgic seeing several groups of stars forming a ribbon tail-like and floating in the air.

"Can you show me my fox star? I want to see it again!"

Suddenly, Guin could hear her own voice in her ears, followed by a memory that had been buried in her mind for a long time. Reflexively, Guin moved from her place, trying to follow the stars' trails.

Guin's heartbeat raced. She could even hear the thump of each beat of her heart as if a drummer was beating the drum right next to his ear.

"Wow, so beautiful! Big brother, how did you do it?" The memory became vivid in her mind―the memory of her encounter with a handsome boy who was once lost in the Beast world.

"I don't know. It happened naturally."

"Will I also have magic like you?"

"You must have some amazing magic power."

Flashes of memories and conversations that occurred increasingly filled her mind. Guin couldn't remember the boy's face, but his voice sounded so clear as if the boy was speaking directly into Guin's ear.

A satisfied smile graced Guin's lips as the stars stopped somewhere. She began to raise her hand to touch the stars dancing around her. However, when her fingertips touched one of the stars, the stars shot away from her. Not wanting to lose it, Guin immediately chased the star.

Will I meet him? Guin thought enthusiastically, hoping that the stars were a sign that she would see the boy she longed to meet. But suddenly, her sense of smell caught a fishy aroma that could evoke trauma. Anxiety filled with fear suddenly seized Guin's body.

Blood! This is the smell of blood! Guin shouted in her heart, and her steps slowed without realizing it. Guin stopped walking and caught her breath when she saw a corpse lying under the tree. A tall man was also seen staring at the corpse with a blank expression. The stars began to circle the mysterious man and moved obediently, following every movement of his fingers.

All of Guin's nerves tensed, and her back shivered as if she were in a sea of ice. Was… was he the one who killed that guy? Her heart seemed to stop beating instantly when the man raised his head and looked at her with a pair of sharp reddish-gold eyes, making her heart seem to stop beating.

"Remember well, my child … the reddish-gold-eyed vampire with spatial magic is evil!!"

The power to control stars to travel between dimensions was one of the mastery of people with spatial powers. This person was a vampire with reddish-gold eyes... just like her mother's description.

He... is he the vampire who led the group of monsters that massacred my family??

Previously, Guin was determined to search for and find this vampire. However, her determination and high self-confidence were inversely proportional to the reality that Guin was currently experiencing. When she came face to face with the vampire, Guin's knees became weak and helpless. Her eyes looked at the corpse with fear. This was the second time she had seen death unfold before her eyes. The past trauma that haunted her swallowed all of her courage and buried her determination to take revenge.

"You..." The vampire stepped towards Guin, and the man's every step was like a sword cut about to pierce Guin's heart.

Like a controlled and threatening movement, the vampire's palm began to rise towards Guin's neck as if he intended to strangle her to death, or perhaps pull it just to suck her blood to the last drop. Whatever it was, if Guin didn't escape right now, she would die.

The problem was ... Guin couldn't control her body; it wouldn't listen to her brain's commands. She felt her body was chained and compressed as if gravity was pulling her down to the ground. Without realizing it, She trembled with fear, and almost fainted when she felt the big cold palm touch her neck. The man's palm shifted to the back of her neck until it was hidden behind her loose black hair, while the other wrapped around Guin's waist.

Guin's black eyes were watery again, and this time because the vampire's mouth opened and said, "Finally, I found you."
