Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Nowhere To Escape

Rosemary had been wrenched from her world, her family's duty, and her destiny as a vampire servant. The Alpha, Vernon, had threatened to kill her werewolf comrades if she did not flee the pack. He was well aware that she was his vampire servant, a fact that he was determined to remind her of.

As Rosemary packed her belongings, her thoughts raced. She recalled the freedom she had once believed she would find within the werewolf pack. And she remembered the fear that had been her constant companion since her revival from her past life.

The more Rosemary attempted to escape, the more Vernon reinforced his authority, assuring her that there was no escape from his dominion.

The time had come. Rosemary stepped out of the werewolf's cabin and into the night. She turned to glance back at the cabin, where Narita was still fast asleep. She had left them a note explaining her decision to move on, unable to bear the thought of bringing more danger to the pack. With a heavy heart, she took a deep breath and began walking away.

For hours, she walked, until the first rays of dawn began to break over the horizon. She had left the werewolves behind, and she was now back in the world of the vampires. The future was uncertain, but she knew that she had to find a way to reconcile her past with her present.

Rosemary had finally made it back to her family's estate. The grand manor stood before her, its imposing silhouette looming against the backdrop of the night sky. A wave of relief washed over her as she approached the front door, her heart pounding in her chest.

As Rosemary stepped through the front door, she was greeted by the familiar smell of her family's home. The air was thick with the scent of lavender and old wood, a comforting aroma that had always soothed her soul but not now. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

As she opened her eyes, her heart sank. Her mother, Mrs. Ventayan, was standing in the hallway, her face etched with anger. Her eyes were now blazing with fury.

Mrs. Ventayan's voice was like ice as she spoke. "Rosemary! How dare you come back here after all this time! You've caused us nothing but pain and heartache. You should be ashamed of yourself!"

Rosemary recoiled from her mother's harsh words. "I'm sorry, Mother," Rosemary whispered, her voice trembling. "I know I've made a lot of mistakes. But I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere. I want to be a part of this family again."

"Rosemary, you're a disgrace to our family name. You should have stayed with those werewolves if it's not for Master Vernon's order."

Rosemary's heart shattered. She had hoped that her mother would forgive her, that they could finally put the past behind them. But it was clear that her mother was not ready to let go of her anger.

"Get ready for the Selection. Master Vernon has spread the news that Selection will start from tomorrow night." Mrs. Ventayan's eyes narrowed. "I hope you will not disappoint me this time Rosemary."

Tears welled up in Rosemary's eyes as she turned to leave. "I understand, Mother," she said, her voice barely a whisper. Rosemary walked away, her heart broken and her soul crushed.

Rosemary stood in front of her mirror, her heart pounding with a mixture of fear and nervousness. Today was the day of the Selection, the day she would meet the Alpha Vampire and compete for the position as his Vampire Server. She had been preparing for this moment for months, studying etiquette, learning how to dance, and practicing her curtsies. But after she revived back from her past life, she just wanted to make sure she would not be selected and also not to accept his offer as a mistress.

She took a deep breath and began to get dressed. She chose a beautiful gown of green silk, with a delicate lace overlay. The gown fit her perfectly, accentuating her curves and highlighting her stunning figure. She added a pair of matching heels and a strand of pearls.

She turned her attention to her makeup. She used a light foundation to even out her skin tone, and then applied a touch of blush to her cheeks. She emphasized her eyes with a smoky eye shadow and a touch of eyeliner, and she finished off with a coat of mascara. Her lips were painted a soft pink, and she looked absolutely radiant.

With a final look in the mirror, Rosemary took a deep breath and left her room. She walked down the grand staircase, her heart pounding in her chest. Her mother and sister were waiting for her near the main door.

"Very well, Rosemary," Mrs Ventayan went forward to help tidy up Rosemary's loose hair. "Make me proud, my daughter."

...............................

The grand ballroom of the vampire castle was abuzz with the energy of a thousand conversations and the rhythmic pulse of live music. Elegantly dressed vampires in their finest attire mingled, their voices blending into a low hum that echoed through the vast chamber.

Rosemary, a new arrival to the vampire society, stood at the entrance, her heart pounding in her chest. She had been the spotlight in such a gathering of her kind before, and the sheer opulence of the setting was overwhelming.

As she stepped into the room, a collective gasp swept through the crowd. Heads turned, necks craned, and eyes widened in astonishment. Rosemary's beauty was undeniable, a radiant spectacle that took everyone present by surprise.

Her gown, a shimmering cascade of emerald green silk, clung to her curves like a second skin, highlighting her petite frame and accentuating every inch of her flawless form. Her skin, pale as moonlight, was flawless, devoid of any blemish or imperfection.

Her hair, a cascade of raven-black curls, was artfully styled, framing her face in a way that emphasized her delicate features and piercing blue eyes. Her lips painted a shade of ruby red, were the perfect complement to her porcelain complexion.

The vampires around her whispered in hushed tones, their voices laced with admiration and awe. "Who is she?" "She's stunning!" "Her beauty is otherworldly!"

Rosemary felt a blush rise to her cheeks, the warmth spreading from her face down to her chest. She was flattered by the attention, but also a bit overwhelmed. She had never been the center of attention before, and it was a strange sensation.

Rosemary glided through the crowd, her movements as fluid as water. Heads turned as she passed, and whispers followed her like a whisper of silk.

She was a vision of beauty, a captivating enigma amidst the throng of vampires. Rosemary, the new arrival, had captured the hearts of all who gazed upon her, leaving an indelible mark on the grand ballroom of the vampire castle.

"So she is the eldest daughter of the Ventayan family, the one who was not on the candidate list last time."

"I heard the rumor that Master Vernon was not happy about the Ventayan family last time and that was why the Selection was delayed."

Rosemary tried to ignore all the whispering and silently walked the a corner of the grand ballroom.

In a hushed corner of the grand ballroom, a group of young vampire servers huddled together, their faces etched with a mix of envy and apprehension. Their attention was focused on Rosemary, the newest arrival to the vampire court, who was currently captivating the attention of the entire room with her captivating beauty.

"Can you believe how stunning she is?" hissed Azriel Von Ruden, her emerald green eyes narrowed with jealousy.

"Her beauty is almost unnatural," added Silvana Blacke, her voice trembling with a hint of fear. "It's almost as if she's radiating some kind of supernatural power."

"And with that gown," said Renita Morelock, her eyes darting towards Rosemary's emerald green silk dress, which shimmered under the ballroom lights, "she looks like a queen among us."

The group of vampires exchanged uneasy glances, their envy morphing into a growing sense of unease. Rosemary's beauty was undeniable, but it also seemed to carry an aura of danger, a hint of something otherworldly that made them all feel a bit out of their depth.

"I don't trust her," whispered Azriel Von Ruden, her voice barely above a whisper. "She's too perfect, too beautiful. There's something sinister about her."

The others nodded in agreement, their fear growing with each passing moment. Rosemary's presence cast a shadow over them, making them feel insecure and inferior. They could sense the attention she was garnering, the whispers of admiration and awe that followed her wherever she went.

Their fear was palpable, their anxiety reaching a fever pitch. They were determined to do whatever it took to protect themselves from Rosemary and her otherworldly beauty. They would scheme and plot, they would spread rumors and sow discord, and they would do everything in their power to prevent her from becoming the next queen.

Rosemary, oblivious to the growing animosity around her, continued to grace the ballroom with her presence, her beauty captivating every vampire who laid eyes upon her. But the seeds of jealousy and fear had been sown, and they would grow and fester, threatening to poison the once harmonious vampire court.

"Don't mind them, Rosemary," the other candidate Violeta RIddle walked to Rosemary's side. "Let's go this way." She then showed Rosemary the way to the garden.
