The ear-piercing scream put a jolting stop to the student's bullying. The classroom soon fell quiet but then it was broken by another ear-deafening cry. And it didn't end there as well. More and more screams could be heard until it was soon overshadowed by the ringing of the school's alarms.
"THIS IS THE DIRECTOR OF SUGISAWA MUNINCIPIAL HIGH SCHOOL. A CURSE USER HAS CONFIRMED TO HAVE BROKEN IN, SO THE EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES ARE TO BE FOLLOWED! A JUJUTSU SORCERER WILL BE DISPATCHED TO THE SCHOOL IMMEDIATLY!"
The schools' doors and windows were immediately anchored down and blocked by a wall of steel sheets. The students all broke out into a panic as they all flocked to the corner of the classroom.
"LET US OUT!"
"I DON'T WANNA DIE HERE YET!"
"I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A GIRLFRIEND!"
"LET ME AT EM! I'D DO A BETTER JOB THAN AKUMU!"
"I never apologised to my parents.."
"I miss my mom."
The sounds of regret, anguish, false confidence, and fear quickly filled the room until the teacher quickly got ahold of the situation.
"These steel sheets are 3 inches thick and are constantly reinforced by a wave of cursed energy. Grade 2 and below curses can't break through them, so we all should be perfectly sa—"
As time passed, and cursed energy became more common, cursed tools were reverse engineered allowing it to be manufactured and integrated with modern technology. The steel defences of the school were one of them, as they were even powered by the cursed energy of Tengen. However that safety was ripped along with the teacher's body, as it was pierced by a volley of black-coloured swords that tore apart the walls and cursed energy alike.
At the same time, the culprit kindly entered through the unharmed door, despite the large gaping hole that was next to him. Akumu's eyes widened in shock, as it was the man who looked at him from outside.
He looked at the teachers corpse, and then the curse user in horror. He was so stricken with fear his body even refused to move, nevertheless scream. one of the students then cried,
"Hey, Akumu-senpai? You were a Jujutsu High Prospect student right?!? Do something!"
And in an instant, all the fear he felt disappeared.
'Are you serious?'
He wasn't sure how to feel at first, since these people were relying on him for the first time. It made him feel a little special, but then remembering all the bullying they had put him thought in these past 6 months, his face contorted as he expressed his utter disgust, and then rage.
They were looking at him like a tool. Like a lamb. These people didn't treat him like a fellow human, and they never saw him as one to begin with.
'Die for us!' That was what they were really asking.
He wanted to say it right there and then, he wanted to say how much he hated them. How much he resented them. How much he wanted to see them all be butchered by the curse user in front them.. infact, he wanted to do it himself.
But that was quickly taken down by the sounds of flesh being torn through, as one by one blades of darkness and light began to rip apart the students in front of him. Very quickly Akumu's heart began to drown back into that well of despair once again. The very same darkness that took his heart similarly to the day his parents died.
He could cry his heart out all he wanted, but he was going to die too.
Even if he could fight back with whatever strength he had, this guy was clearly at the strength of a grade 1 or above. Fighting him would be utter suicide.
And then, as if snapping Akumu out of that cycle, a large piece of rubble enhanced with cursed energy was flew at the head of this stitch sorcerer, which he calmly caught with ease. Out of the darkness and blood that plagued the school, Misoto had come to defeat him.
**
"Looking at how much damage you've caused to the school already, it would be safe to say that you are at least a grade 1 or above..", Dojima said reluctantly.
The stitch-faced sorcerer replied with an amused expression,
"Well aren't you smart? But your enhancement is crude and your energy control is passable at best. Your just rabble like all the rest.
If he was alive, why did he come? He could've escaped, and yet he came back for him anyway.
"AKUMU SAIGO! YOU STILL WANT TO LIVE RIGHT? DO YOU WANT TO DIE LIKE YOUR PARENTS TOO?"
Then emotions of both rage and helplessness took over the despairing Akumu. He realized that he too was as pathetic as his peers. He never desired to try to change himself and always thought that the world was unfair since the day his parents died. But now a new resolution began to grow in his heart, and that was the desire to live.
Hastley he got up on his feet and jumped through one of the holes the sorcerer had made in the classroom and quickly escaped. Although it was reckless, the sorcerer didn't react to any of it.
"I came straight here so I'm not sure if anyone else survived. But if what the alarms said are true, a sorcerer should be on their way to help us. We just have to hold out for a couple minutes. ", Dojima said confidently.
The stitch headed sorcerer looked at Akumu with keen interest.
"Interesting.. did I miss you while I killed everyone else? Or did you slip past me somehow? Either way, you lost your only chance to escape."
"My only chance to escape? Ha! There was no option for me to escape in the first place, not as long as there were people still alive."
Akumu was stunted for a second. He didn't just mean him, but everyone in the school that hadn't been killed by that murderer yet. Despite everything they had done to the both of them, he was going to save them. It was stupid, moronic, foolish...
But it made sense. That was simply the kind of guy he was.
Either way, a direct fight was suicide which the two instantly understood.
"RUN!"
