Chereads / Strongest Sniper / Chapter 9 - Kill all

Chapter 9 - Kill all

Ethan's palm throbbed with pain, the warm trickle of blood a stark reminder of the danger that surrounded him. But he wasn't angry. Instead, a sense of calm washed over him as memories flooded his mind.

He remembered a time when he was a killing machine, a soldier trained to eliminate threats with ruthless efficiency. But that life was behind him now, replaced by a relentless pursuit of justice in a world filled with betrayal and deceit.

As he bandaged his wound with a torn piece of cloth, Ethan's eyes narrowed with determination. He had been betrayed too many times to count, but now, clarity washed over him like a wave crashing against the shore.

In this game of life and death, there were no allies, only targets. And Ethan had his sights set on each and every one of them.

Ethan's first target was Isabella, a cunning adversary who had positioned herself strategically near the door, shielded from the sniper's gaze outside the window. Ethan's M24 rifle, his primary weapon for long-range engagements, was rendered useless in this close-quarters confrontation. With his Smith and Wesson revolver his only option, he knew he had to act swiftly.

As Ethan's gun lined up with Isabella's silhouette, poised to take the shot, she anticipated his move. With lightning speed, Isabella lunged forward, narrowly avoiding Ethan's line of fire. Adrenaline surged through Ethan's veins as he squeezed the trigger, the deafening roar of gunfire reverberating in the confined space.

Isabella's evasive maneuver saved her from a fatal shot, but not without consequence. The first bullet tore through her shoulder with a sickening thud, eliciting a sharp cry of pain. As she staggered from the impact, the second bullet grazed past her cheek, leaving a trail of blood in its wake.

Ethan's heart raced as he watched Isabella stumble to safety, her wounded form disappearing into the shadows. He knew she wouldn't go down without a fight.

With gritted teeth, Ethan scanned the room for any possible escape route. The walls offered no protection, and the window was a deathtrap under the sniper's watchful eye. He needed to act fast before the sniper got a clear shot.

Thinking quickly, Ethan spotted a ventilation duct near the ceiling. It was a tight squeeze, but it might be his only chance to evade the sniper's bullets. Without hesitation, he scrambled to his feet and leaped for the duct, ignoring the searing pain in his injured hand.

With a grunt of effort, Ethan managed to pry open the duct and squeeze inside just as another shot shattered the window behind him. Bullets whizzed past, but Ethan pressed on, crawling through the narrow confines of the duct with single-minded determination.

After what felt like an eternity, Ethan emerged from the duct into an adjacent room.

As Ethan emerged from the duct, his senses heightened, alert to the slightest sound. Before he could even catch his breath, the unmistakable sound of footsteps reached his ears. Without hesitation, he instinctively grabbed a grenade from his belt and hurled it back into the room he had just left.

The explosion was deafening, shattering the eerie silence of the abandoned building. The force of the blast sent shockwaves through the air, accompanied by the agonized screams of his unseen foes. Ethan's heart raced as he heard the cries of pain, knowing that he had eliminated the immediate threat.

But there was no time to celebrate. Ethan knew that to survive, he needed to eliminate the sniper lurking somewhere in the vicinity. With a steely resolve, he set his sights on the stairs leading to the rooftop.

As Ethan climbed the stairs, the distant sounds of revving engines and sporadic gunshots filled the air, a grim reminder of the chaos unfolding outside. It was clear that the attackers weren't from a single faction; multiple groups were engaged in a deadly struggle for supremacy.

With each step, Ethan's determination grew stronger. He knew that reaching the secoend floor was just the first step towards securing his survival. As he emerged onto the open expanse of the upper floor, he dropped to the ground, scanning his surroundings for any signs of danger.

Crouched low, Ethan observed the battle field outside the window, his senses sharp and alert. The windows provided a strategic vantage point, offering him a clear view of the chaos unfolding on the streets below. He could see the faint glow of muzzle flashes and hear the distant shouts of combatants locked in fierce skirmishes.

But amidst the chaos, Ethan's focus remained unwavering. His eyes were drawn to a small pile of loot nearby, a glimmer of hope in the midst of despair. With cautious movements, he crawled towards the loot, his heart pounding with anticipation.

As he reached the pile, his eyes lit up at the sight of an UZI nestled among the scattered items. Without hesitation, he reached out and grabbed the weapon, checking its magazine for ammunition. The familiar weight of the gun in his hands brought a sense of reassurance, a reminder that he was one step closer to leveling the playing field.

" Why are these people throwing their lives away!? Shouldn't they be killing each other to leave the game? Why are they ganging up on lone players like me? " Ethan thought as he carefully hid near a window. As he tried to peek outside, a gunshot was heard and the windowsill near him was blasted into splinters instantly.

Ethan shrunk back and observed the window. He then aimed his gun at the lights in the room and fired his UZI at the light bulbs.

The room was now covred in darkness, it wasn't a problem for Ethan to see in dark because of his sniper trait but it would be a nightmare for others if they wanted to shoot him down in the dark.

Ethan heard sound coming from the stairs as he slowly moved towards a corner in the room and aimed the gun at the stair. As he was focused on the stair, he heard a small object being thrown in. Fortunately By the thud sound that object made, Ethan knew this wasn't a granade but a flashbang. He swiftly turned around and closed his eyes as the flashbang went off and filled the room with blinding light.
