Chapter 11 - The tower

Ethan's footsteps echo through the desolate street as he scans the area for signs of danger. His eyes fall upon a destroyed car, its twisted metal offering a sliver of shelter in the darkness. With no other options, he slips inside the trunk, his heart pounding with anticipation.

Grimacing, Ethan applies a bandage to his wounded hand, the knife wound nearly healed but still throbbing with pain. As he settles in for the night, the distant sound of gunshots fills the air, a haunting reminder of the dangers lurking in the shadows.

Throughout the long hours of darkness, Ethan remains hidden in the trunk, his senses on high alert as he listens to the ceaseless symphony of violence outside. Time seems to stretch on endlessly as he waits, each minute feeling like an eternity. Although he woke up multiple times in the middle of the night, he was able to get much needed sleep throughout the night.

Finally, as the first light of dawn breaks on the horizon, Ethan knows that the time has come. With bated breath, he waits for the arrival of the new players.

As Ethan cautiously emerges from his hiding spot, a deafening roar fills the sky above. His eyes widen in disbelief as he watches a horde of planes fly overhead, their ominous presence casting a shadow over the desolate landscape.

His heart races as he witnesses unconscious figures being thrown out of the planes, each one equipped with a parachute. Ethan's mind races with questions, but he knows he must stay focused if he wants to survive.

With a wary glance around, Ethan scans the area, ensuring that there are no enemies lurking nearby. Satisfied that the coast is clear, he moves swiftly to a nearby building, his movements deliberate and calculated.

Once inside, Ethan ascends to the roof, his eyes scanning the horizon for a suitable location to call in the air drop. He knows that this could be his chance to replenish his supplies

He now had two choices in front of him, to call in air drop in the city or to call it in an open area. In the middle of the city might seem like the logical choice at first glance, as it offers more immediate access to buildings and cover. However, it also presents a higher risk of encountering enemies who may have already staked out the area or are drawn to the commotion caused by the air drop.

On the other hand, an open farm provides more space and potentially fewer threats, as it's less likely to be heavily populated by other players. This could give Ethan more time and freedom to secure the air drop without immediate danger.

Ethan noticed a tower a few kilometers from his building out in the open near the road which looked like a mobile tower used for communication. there were farms surrounding the tower and about 500 meyer area around the tower was flat land.

As Ethan gazes at the distant tower, a plan forms in his mind. He knows that calling in the air drop there is his best chance at securing much-needed supplies, but the challenge lies in reaching the tower safely amidst the chaos of the battleground.

With enemies lurking around every corner and new players landing all around, Ethan knows that he'll have to proceed with caution. As he navigates the perilous terrain, the biggest question weighing on his mind is the strange absence of gunfire directed at the unconscious players falling from the sky.

"Why aren't others shooting down new players?" Ethan wonders, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Unconscious players are easy kills, so why aren't they firing at them while they're in the air?"

With a keen eye for survival, Ethan scours the nearby buildings for loot, his senses heightened as he seeks out anything that could give him an edge in the coming battle. Amidst the rubble and debris, he finds an AK47, its sturdy frame promising reliability in the heat of combat.

Quickly, he attaches a 4X scope to the rifle, transforming it into a makeshift marksman rifle capable of delivering precision shots over long distances. But Ethan isn't done yet. With a deft hand, he modifies the barrel of the rifle, fine-tuning its accuracy to ensure deadly accuracy with each pull of the trigger.

As he surveys his surroundings, his gaze falls upon a garage tucked away in one of the buildings. Inside, he finds a vehicle, its engine humming with potential. With a determined resolve, Ethan sets to work, rigging the car with extra bulletproof vests found in the house, fortifying the driver's side door to withstand enemy fire.

With his arsenal prepared and his makeshift armored vehicle at the ready, Ethan knows that he's as prepared as he'll ever be for the fight ahead.

The thunderous roar of the engine reverberates through the desolate landscape as Ethan tightens his grip on the steering wheel of the red Mustang. With one hand firmly clutching his Smith and Wesson, he braces himself for the perilous journey ahead, determined to conserve the precious ammunition for his AK47 unless absolutely necessary.

The Mustang hurtles down the open road with a fierce determination, its engine growling in defiance as it speeds towards the distant mobile tower. But their path is far from clear. Gunshots ring out in the distance, a relentless barrage of bullets seeking to halt their progress.

The car swerves and jolts as bullets rain down upon it, the metal exterior singing with each near miss. Ethan grits his teeth, his senses on high alert as he steers the Mustang through the storm of gunfire.

One or two shots find their mark, the impact sending shockwaves through the car as they strike dangerously close. But Ethan refuses to be deterred, his determination unwavering as he presses on towards his goal.

As the red Mustang hurtles towards the mobile tower, time seems to slow to a crawl for Ethan. His senses are on high alert, every nerve in his body tingling with anticipation. But in the blink of an eye, disaster strikes.

From the corner of his eye, Ethan catches sight of a deadly RPG hurtling towards the car. His heart skips a beat as he realizes the gravity of the situation. With split-second precision, he clenches his jaw and tightens his grip on the steering wheel.

In a daring move born of sheer instinct, Ethan wrenches the steering wheel to the side, sending the car into a wild drift. The Mustang careens dangerously close to the incoming RPG, the explosive device whizzing past with inches to spare.

The world erupts in a blinding flash of light and deafening noise as the RPG detonates just beside the car. The force of the blast sends the Mustang hurtling through the air, flipping end over end in a dizzying display of chaos.

Ethan's head spins as the world whirls around him, the ground and sky blurring together in a disorienting haze. The Mustang rolls multiple times before finally coming to a jarring stop near the base of the tower.
