Chapter 15 - Showdown

There were flames burning the trashed up cars everywhere, agonizing screems of wonded men were coming from different directions. The battlefield was filled with sound of thundering gunfire and whistling of bullets.

In such environment the tower looked like a gateway to hell as whoever went near it was killed before they could reach even half way. The yakuza leader Hiroshi Tanaka was waiting for the good news but it never came. He looked at the tower as he sighs and pressed a button on his wrist phone. There was a beep as cluster strike was confirmed.

" Go now... We just have to hold him in there for a minute... " He said as he stood up and grabbed his katana. He also took off his Uzi from the holster in his dark red suit and walked towards the car that was waiting for him outside the house.

On the other side, a Russian guy with eyepatch was watching the situation unfold " Tell gregory to begin the final push! Get those battle points... It's not everyday you get to kill a title holder that is withought subordinates. "

Somewhere far away a woman was pacing around in a room looking at a feed from surveillance dron on her wrist shop. " Let's add some fun to the game " She said as she pressed the button on her shop function. The shop icon lit up and there was an indicator for Mega Ton Bomb airdrop.

Meanwhile Ethan who was taking deep breath just changed the magazine in his rifle and aimed at the window again. He took a deep breadth as a blood drop slowly trickled down his cheek. He swiftly squeezed the trigger and the high caliber round went flying towards it's next target.

The bullet broke past the windshield of the speeding car and blasted a hole through the driver's jacket, the armor was unable to stop the devastating damage of the high caliber round as the bullet continue to pass through the seat and the sharpnel were blasted on the face of the next yakuza that seating in the back seat along with all the blood and flesh.

Seeing a blood flower bloom in wind shield, Ethan stopped holding his breadth and swiftly pressed the shop icon in his wrist phone.

Ethan quickly selected the airstrike option from the shop menu, scrolling through the various devastating choices available. Each type of strike had its own cost and tactical advantages: Inferno, Blast, Mega Blast, Cluster Strike, Carpet Bombing, Flash Bombs, Smoke Bombs, EMP, and Orbital Laser. Assessing his immediate needs and the precarious situation he found himself in, Ethan decided to combine a Smoke Bombing, which would provide much-needed cover, with a Cluster Strike to inflict maximum damage on his pursuers. The combined cost was 1000 points, a hefty expenditure but one he hoped would secure his survival.

As soon as he confirmed the purchase, a timer appeared on his screen, indicating that the bomber would arrive in just one minute. The rapid response time surprised Ethan, giving him a glimmer of hope. He swiftly stood up and checked his Barrett M95 magazine. He had about three magazines, with only 60 bullets remaining. Every shot would need to count.

Without wasting another second, Ethan pulled the pins on his last smoke bombs and threw them into the tower. Thick, gray smoke billowed out, filling the confined space and providing him with a temporary cloak of invisibility. The smoke spread quickly, obscuring his position from any snipers or ground attackers who might be trying to zero in on him.

With the smoke swirling around him, Ethan took a deep breath and prepared for the incoming airstrike. He crouched low, his eyes scanning through the limited visibility, ears attuned to the faint sounds of his enemies outside the tower. He could hear them coordinating their movements, likely preparing for an assault.

Seconds ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity. Ethan's mind raced as he strategized his next moves. The smoke was his ally, but it wouldn't last forever. He needed to make the most of the impending chaos that the airstrike would unleash.

Finally, the distant roar of approaching bombers reached his ears. The timer on his device hit zero. Ethan braced himself, gripping his rifle tightly, ready to spring into action as soon as the first bombs hit.

The initial salvo of smoke bombs exploded around the perimeter of the tower, thick clouds enveloping the area and disorienting the attackers. Shouts of confusion and alarm echoed through the smoke. Ethan knew this was his moment. He moved quickly but cautiously, using the cover to reposition himself.

Then came the cluster strike. The ground shook as multiple explosions rocked the vicinity. The precise, deadly impacts of the cluster bombs tore through enemy positions, sending debris and bodies flying. Screams of pain and terror filled the air.

Ethan took advantage of the pandemonium. He emerged from his hiding spot, navigating through the smoke-filled chaos with calculated precision. His enemies were in disarray, their formation broken by the relentless bombardment. He aimed carefully, conserving his limited ammunition, and fired at any silhouette that moved through the haze.

The airstrike had bought him precious time and created the perfect opportunity to diminish the enemy forces significantly.

As Ethan moved through the thick, swirling smoke, putting a few hundred meters between himself and the tower, he heard a heavy bomb hit the structure. The ensuing mega blast sent shockwaves rippling through the air. The force was so immense that it flung Ethan backward, slamming him into a nearby car. The impact left him momentarily dazed, the world around him spinning as he struggled to catch his breath.

Slowly, the smoke began to clear, revealing the chaos and destruction that had been wrought. Ethan, bruised and battered, crawled behind the vehicle for cover. He knew he needed to disable the enemy's ability to track him. With a shaky hand, he accessed the shop on his wrist device and purchased an EMP blast for 1000 points. It was a significant expenditure, but the strategic advantage was worth it.

Within moments, another bomber appeared overhead, dropping the EMP bomb. The blast sent out an electronic pulse that disabled all wrist shops in the vicinity. Now, his enemies were as blind as he was, unable to use their devices to locate or track him. The advantage was now his.

Ethan slowly stood up, his body aching from the blast and the collision with the car. He began to walk away, keeping low and moving cautiously. The enemies were searching for him, but without their devices, they were disoriented and unable to pinpoint his location.

He moved through the debris-strewn landscape, his eyes scanning for any sign of movement. The absence of electronic tracking leveled the playing field, allowing him to blend into the surroundings more effectively. His steps were measured and deliberate as he made his way toward a safer location.

The destruction around him was vast, but amidst the wreckage, Ethan felt a glimmer of hope. The EMP blast had given him the cover he needed. Now, it was a matter of staying one step ahead, using his wits and the terrain to outmaneuver his pursuers. The game was far from over. "Since you all want to play, let me show you what I can do now... "
